LCW Showdown Television Results 11.04.09

LCW Showdown Television Results (November 4, 2009) live from Lakefront Arena, in New Orleans, LA.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko reviewed footage from last week’s episode of LCW Showdown in which Sid Vicious attacked LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin on the entrance stage and slammed a stretcher across his back only two weeks before their stretcher match at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special this Saturday. Schiavone announced that it was unsure if Austin would be here tonight to defend his title against his Showdown Championship Draft opponent tonight, Brutus The Barber Beefcake.

In the back, Bret Hart approached LCW General Manager Harley Race and said he wanted to exercise his championship rematch clause and wanted a match with the Dynamite Kid tonight. Race said he couldn’t do that because of the Showdown Championship Draft. Race said he would see what he could do, but due to the rules of the Showdown Championship Draft he didn’t think there was anything he could do. Hart said, “Maybe there’s something I can do,” and walked away.

Macho Man Randy Savage defeated LCW Heritage Champion Dynamite Kid in 11:42 by pinfall with a rollup to win the LCW Heritage Championship. During the match, Dynamite locked the Crossface on Savage, but Savage managed to roll out of it into the pinfall for the win. After the match, Dynamite still had the Crossface locked on Savage during the pinfall and rolled back over with the Crossface still applied on Savage. The referee tried to get Dynamite to break the hold, telling him he had already lost the title, but Dynamite refused to release the Crossface. Bret Hart came out and attacked Dynamite forcing him to break the hold. The two men brawled as security officials came out to separate the two men. LCW General Manager Harley Race came out and, from the entrance stage, said, “Bret Hart, before this match you asked me for a shot at the LCW Heritage Championship, presumably because you wanted to get your hands on the Dynamite Kid again. Well, it won’t be for the title, but I can give you the opportunity to go one on one with Dynamite Kid one more time. This Saturday, at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special Bret Hart will face the Dynamite Kid!” Race walked away again as Hart and Dynamite tried to get at each again as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Bill Goldberg was shown making his way through the arena corridor when he was approached by LCW General Manager Harley Race. Race asked Goldberg where he was going and Goldberg said he was going to join Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko in the broadcast booth for LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams’ title defense against Abdullah the Butcher. Race said that was all Goldberg would be allowed to do. He warned Goldberg that if he even thought of leaving the broadcast booth he’d lose his shot at the LCW International Championship this Saturday.

LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams defeated Abdullah the Butcher (with General Skandor Akbar) in 7:11 by pinfall after the Spear. Before the match, Bill Goldberg came out and joined Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko in the broadcast booth to provide guest commentary during the match and discussed his match with Williams at the Showdown at the Chase television special this Saturday. After the match, Goldberg applauded Williams as the two men stared at each other as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Jacqueline defeated Debbie Combs in 5:39 by pinfall after a DDT to advance to the fatal fourway match to crown the new LCW Women’s Champion at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special this Saturday. During the match, as the referee raised Jacqueline's arm in victory, Luna Vachon and Spider Lady made their way down the entrance ramp, both carrying metal pipes. Mid-ramp, a burst of flame exploded in front of the two women and they fell to the floor stunned. An ominous cackling laughter came over the arena. Spider Lady helped Vachon to her feet and the two women returned to the back. Vachon paused for a moment on the stage looking out into the crowd, but followed Spider Lady.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Stan Hansen (with Col. Robert Parker and Maw Bass) defeated LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page in 12:58 by pinfall after the Lariat to win the LCW United States Championship. During the match, the rest of the Desperados: LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers, Black Bart, and Dirty Dutch Mantel came down to watch the match from ringside. They were eventually joined by the Nasty Boys, Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater who stood on the other side of the ring. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone noted that the match now seemed liked a lumberjack match. During the match, the two squads outside the ring started to brawl and the brawl moved inside the ring. Page hit Hansen with the Diamond Cutter, but Outaw Ron Bass attacked Page from behind and hit him with the Texas Gourdbuster. As the referee managed to clear the two squads out of the ring, Hansen and Page slowly made their way to their feet and Hansen hit Page with the Lariat out of nowhere for the pinfall and the win. After the match, as the two squads continued to brawl outside the ring, Hansen quickly escaped with the title with Parker and Bass as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko talked about the unpredictability of the Showdown Championship Draft and noted the fact that the LCW Heritage Championship and the LCW United States Championship have already changed hands tonight.

In the back, Diamond Dallas Page confronted Bill Goldberg and asked him where he was at during his match with Stan Hansen. Page said he could have used Goldberg’s help, but Goldberg said he had his own problems to deal with. Page said he had always been there for Goldberg, but Goldberg hadn’t been there for him recently. Goldberg asked Page when he became such a woman suggesting, “Maybe it’s all that yoga you’re doing.” Page got in Goldberg’s face and said, “Well, since you weren’t there for me I don’t need to be there for you anymore. As far as I’m concerned, you’re on your own. Good luck with Dr. Death this Saturday.” Page walked away as Goldberg shouted at him, “I never needed you anyway.”

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers defeated the Destruction Crew in 6:22 by pinfall when Outlaw Ron Bass pinned Wayne Bloom after the Texas Gourdbuster.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Baby Doll came out with Tully Blanchard for the “Doll House” interview segment. Blanchard sat in his recliner as Baby Doll introduced her guest, Wildfire Tommy Rich who came out and joined Baby Doll and Blanchard in the ring. Baby Doll played footage of the history between Rich, Austin Idol, Hollywood John Tatum and Missy Hyatt from the formation of the group to the recent split. Rich said they could have been the most dominant group if he wasn’t weighed down by the dead wood that was around him. Blanchard laughed and said, “Yeah, that’s what it was!” Rich asked Blanchard if he had something he wanted to say and Blanchard stood up and said Rich was always a pathetic loser and as far as he could tell nothing had changed. Rich got in Blanchard’s face and Baby Doll separated them before introducing Missy Hyatt who came out with Hollywood John Tatum. Hyatt and Tatum joined Baby Doll, Blanchard, and Rich in the ring and Hyatt said Blanchard was right about one thing: Rich was and would always be pathetic. She said she had made him a champion, but, much like being NWA World Champion, he was a one hit wonder. Rich said, “At least I’m not a whiny, obnoxious, spoiled, little bitch!” Hyatt slapped Rich across the face and Tatum went to attack Rich, but Rich was able to fend him off until Blanchard attacked him from behind and Tatum joined Blanchard in kicking Rich to the mat. Blanchard then picked up Rich as Tatum unloaded on Rich with vicious right hand shots. Blanchard dropped Rich and left ringside with Baby Doll. Tatum picked up Rich and Hyatt slapped him across the face and then Hyatt told Tatum to throw him through the plate glass window on the “Doll House” set. Tatum picked up Rich and threw him through the plate glass window, shattering the window, leaving Rich lying in the window, bleeding. Hyatt kicked Rich in the gut and Rich back fell out of the window and to the mat. Medical officials ran into the ring to check on a bleeding Rich as Tatum and Hyatt left ringside laughing.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, a bloody Wildfire Tommy Rich was being checked on by medical officials when LCW General Manager Harley Race approached them to check on Rich. Before Rich could even speak, Race said, “You’ve already got it. You will have a match, one on one, with Hollywood John Tatum this Saturday at Showdown at the Chase.” Rich said, “What about Missy Hyatt, I don’t want that woman anywhere near me unless I can beat that ho into a housewife.” Race said, “I’m glad you asked me about Missy Hyatt, Tommy, because I’ve already thought about that and to make sure that Missy doesn’t interfere, I’m going to have her locked inside a cage at ringside to keep her from interfering.” Race turned to the medical official and said, “Now, Doc, I want you to stitch him up real tight because after what I just saw, I have no choice but to make this match a first blood match!” Rich smiled, wiped some of the blood from his forehead and said, “Tatum made me bleed a few drops tonight, but this Saturday, I’m going to make him bleed like a stuck pig!” Race walked away as the medic continued working on Tatum.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone announced that the traditional Sam Muchnick Battle Royal would take place at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special this Saturday. Schiavone noted that the winner of the battle royal normally receives a shot at the LCW Universal Championship on the following week’s episode of LCW Showdown. “However, due to the Showdown Championship Draft Series,” Shiavone said, “Bob Backlund already has a shot at the LCW Universal Championship on that week’s Showdown.” Schiavone announced that the winner of the Sam Muchnick Battle Royal would earn a shot at the LCW International Championship at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on Sunday, November 29th. Schiavone and Zbyszko then ran down the rest of the card for this Saturday’s LCW Showdown at the Chase television special:
- Wildfire Tommy Rich vs. Hollywood John Tatum (with Missy Hyatt who will be locked in a cage at ringside) in a first blood match.
- LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams vs. Bill Goldberg.
- LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers vs. The Nasty Boys vs. Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater in a triple threat match.
- Ivory vs. Jacqueline vs. Spider Lady vs. Luna Vachon in a fatal fourway match with the winner going on to face Madusa later in the evening for the vacant LCW Women’s Championship.
- Bret Hart vs. Dynamite Kid.
- LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Sid Vicious in a stretcher match.

Brutus The Barber Beefcake came out for his match with LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin. Instead of Austin, Sid Vicious came out and attacked Beefcake, hitting him with the chokeslam and then a powerbomb before leaving ringside. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, “It’s clear that LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn’t able to make it tonight after being attacked by Sid Vicious last week. I guess now the question is will be at LCW Showdown at the Chase this Saturday to defend his title against Sid Vicious.” As Vicious stood looking at the destruction in the ring, Austin appeared behind Vicious and waited for Vicious to turn around. When Vicious turned around, Austin kicked him in the stomach and hit him with the Stone Cold Stunner. Austin went behind the curtain and rolled out a stretcher. Austin waited for Vicious to get back to his feet and hit Vicious with the title and placed Vicious on the stretcher before pushing the stretcher down the entrance ramp. The stretcher rolled down most of the ramp before tumbling over and dumping Vicious at the end of the ramp. Austin stood on the entrance stage before going to the broadcast booth and grabbed Tony Schiavone’s headset and asked the crowd, “If you think I’m going to be at LCW Showdown at the Chase this Saturday give me a ‘Hell Yeah!’” Schiavone said “Hell Yeah!” Austin realized he wasn’t on the house microphone and threw the headset at Schiavone and said into the house microphone to Schiavone, “I wasn’t talking to you, jackass.” The audience laughed as Austin turned to them and said, “If you think I’m going to kick that psycho son of bitch’s ass this Saturday give me a ‘Hell Yeah!’” The audience exploded with a “Hell Yeah” as Austin left the broadcast booth, held his title belt high above his head on the entrance stage and then left to the back as the show went off the air.
