LCW Showdown Television Results 10.21.09

LCW Showdown Television Results (October 21, 2009) live from the Savannah Civir Center in Savannah, Georgia.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko reminded everyone about the LCW Showdown Championship Draft that occurred last week and announced that all the titles would be on the line tonight and the challengers were drawn in the draft last week.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers (with Maw Bass and Col. Robert Parker) defeated the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (with General Skandor Akbar) in 6:21 by pinfall when Ron Bass pinned Volkoff after the Texas Gourdbuster. Before the match, Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater joined Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko in the broadcast booth to provide guest commentary during the match.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Wildfire Tommy Rich about his upcoming title shot against LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart. Rich said this was the opportunity of a lifetime, to prove himself against a former World Champion. Rich said many forget that he is a former NWA World Champion, even more forget that he beat LCW General Manager Harley Race to become the NWA World Champion, but no one would forget when he beat Hart tonight for the title. Missy Hyatt approached Rich and said she wanted to be in his corner when he won the title just like she was when he won the LCW Television Championship. Rich said, “Like when you were in my corner at Night of Horrors and you hit me with a shoe and helped Austin Idol beat me?” Hyatt apologized and said nothing like that would ever happen again. Rich said he would give her one more chance, but if he didn’t walk out of there as the LCW Heritage Champion, she wouldn’t be walking out with him and would never be with him again. Rich left with Hyatt behind him as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart defeated Wildfire Tommy Rich (with Missy Hyatt) in 8:53 by pinfall with a schoolboy rollup after Hyatt accidentally tripped Rich instead of Hart. Rich turned to chastise Hyatt for the interference when Hart rolled up Rich for the pinfall and the win. After the match, Rich yelled at Hyatt and grabbed her as if he was going to hit her when Hollywood John Tatum attacked Rich from behind, hitting him with a DDT before leaving ringside with Hyatt.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Bill Goldberg defeated Nikita Koloff in 11:39 by pinfall after the Jackhammer after Goldberg hit Koloff with the Spear after ducking an attempted Russian Sickle clothesline.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, the Dynamite Kid attacked Bret Hart from behind and threw him head first into a wall, almost knocking him out. Dynamite leaned down and picked up the LCW Heritage Championship and looked at it for a moment before he said to Hart, “See you next week, Bret.” Dynamite dropped the title on Hart’s chest and then walked away.

LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page defeated Ron Garvin in 3:02 by pinfall after the Diamond Cutter.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams about his upcoming title defense against One Man Gang. Bill Goldberg appeared and said he would have Williams’ back. Williams tried to say that he didn’t need Goldberg’s help, but Goldberg wouldn’t hear it and said he wanted to ensure that it was Williams that he would face at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special for the LCW International Championship. Goldberg said he’d be there for Williams if he needed him before walking away.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Luna Vachon (with Spider Lady) defeated Rockin' Robin in 2:21 by pinfall after the Luna Eclipse to advance to the fatal fourway match to crown the new LCW Women’s Champion at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special on Saturday, November 7th. Following a brief lock-up, Vachon made quick work of Robin. The former WWF Women's Champion was left motionless in the ring as Vachon left with Spider Lady.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Luna Vachon and Spider Lady returned to their dressing room to find their bags on fire and written in red paint on the wall: BURN FOR YOUR SINS. Spider Lady pours water from a large vase with orchids on a table onto the flames, but Vachon was paralyzed as she stared at the paint.

LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams defeated One Man Gang in 8:10 by pinfall when Williams pinned Gang after Bill Goldberg interfered and hit Gang with the Spear. After the match, Williams got in Goldberg’s face and the two men started to brawl as security officials came out to separate the two men.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Nasty Boys and Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater wrestled to a no contest in 5:30 after LCW World Tag Team Champions The Bass Brothers, Stan Hansen, Black Bart, and Dirty Dutch Mantel interfered and attacked the Nasty Boys, Orton, and Slater. Col. Robert Parker and Maw Bass watched from the entrance stage with approving smiles on their faces as the Desperados stood in the ring over the fallen Nasty Boys, Orton and Slater as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez in 11:17 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner. After the match, Sid Vicious attacked Austin from behind and the two men brawled until Fernandez got back to his feet, attacked Austin, and locked him in the Bull’s Brand chokehold. Vicious kept security officials and referees out of the ring as Fernandez continued to apply the Bull’s Brand. LCW General Manager Harley Race came out and demanded that Fernandez release the hold and Vicious leave the ring if he still wanted his shot at the title. As Fernandez released the hold and left ringside with Vicious, medical officials started making their way to the ring to check on Austin. Two of the medical officials had a stretcher and started making their way down the entrance ramp with it, when Race said, “Wait, bring that stretcher back. First of all, Austin won’t need it, but I might have some use for it.” Race told Austin to get up and he slowly made his way to his feet, pushing away medical officials who were trying to help him. Race announced that at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special on Saturday, November 7th, LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin would defend his title against Sid Vicious…in a stretcher match!
