LCW Showdown Television Results 10.07.09

LCW Showdown Television Results (October 7, 2009) live from the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko discussed last week’s main event in which Magnum TA defeated Bill Goldberg to defend the LCW Universal Championship on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s behalf against Sid Vicious at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view this Sunday.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the team of Magnum TA, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams, LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart, and Paul Orndorff about their upcoming eight-man tag team elimination match against Sid Vicious, Bill Goldberg, LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page, and the Honky Tonk Man. Orndorff said he was going to prove to everyone that he hasn’t lost a step and was going to use this as a warm-up before his match with LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view on Sunday. Hart said he wasn’t underestimating the Honky Tonk Man or looking past him, but he was eager to get his hands on Bill Goldberg as well. Hart said their past was no secret and their recent history in LCW was about to force them to revisit that past and settle their issues once and for all. Williams said Hart didn’t need to worry about Goldberg because he wasn’t going to make it out of Night of Horrors alive. Magnum said he had two personal messages for Sid Vicious from Stone Cold Steve Austin. He said he was going to deliver the first one tonight, but the second one he was saving for Night of Horrors and had a feeling Austin might even deliver that message in person!

Stan Hansen (with Col. Robert Parker) wrestled Dirty Dutch Mantel (with Maw Bass) to a no contest in 8:20 after the referee started to lose control of the match and the two men started to brawl. The Bass Brothers, Black Bart, Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater came out and joined the brawl as Parker and Maw Bass got in the ring and started to separate their teams. Parker said he had had enough and wanted these two groups to become an unstoppable united force. He said he and Maw Bass were joining forces with or without them. He said he knew Stan Hansen would be onboard because Hansen knew the heights that Parker was going to take him. He also said he knew the Bass Brothers would never abandon their mother. He turned to Orton, Slater, Mantel and Bart and asked if they would stand with them. Mantel said he was with them and Bart said he was with them and they moved to stand with Hansen and the Bass Brothers. Orton and Slater looked at each other and asked for the microphone. Orton said he and Slater wanted nothing more to do with Parker or any of his plans. He said they had been through this before with Parker and Maw Bass and the Bass Brothers and it was too much drama for them. Slater said it was crap that Parker was putting all his focus on Hansen. Slater asked about he and Orton who were on the cusp of winning the LCW World Tag Team Championships awhile ago, but now they’ve been all but forgotten about in favor of Hansen and they were sick of it. Orton and Slater said they were done with Parker and they wanted no part of this group. They moved to leave and everyone tried to convince them to stay, but they continued walking away. Orton said he and Slater had a non-title match with LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys tonight and when they beat them, if the Bass Brothers can win the titles at Night of Horrors this Sunday, they are coming for them! Orton and Slater left the ring as the men in the ring reacted.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the team of Sid Vicious, Bill Goldberg, LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page, and the Honky Tonk Man, with his manager Jimmy Hart, about their upcoming eight-man tag team elimination match against Magnum TA, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams, LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart, and Paul Orndorff. Page said Orndorff was going to be in for a rude disappointment if he thought he was taking the LCW United States Championship from him. Honky Tonk Man said he was ready to make his greatest hit at Night of Horrors when he beats Bret Hart for the LCW Heritage Championship. Goldberg said he was going to take the LCW International Championship from Williams and would ask, “Who’s next?” Vicious said he knew who was next: Magnum TA and the LCW Universal Championship!

Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) defeated Austin Idol in 9:57 by pinfall after Wildfire Tommy Rich, with his valet Missy Hyatt, interfered and hit Idol with the Wildfire Driver while Hyatt and Baby Doll distracted the referee.

In the back, Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll confronted LCW General Manager Harley Race and said he beat Tito Santana last week and he just beat Austin Idol and questioned why he didn’t have a match at Night of Horrors. Race ask how Blanchard beat Santana last week and Blanchard said with the slingshot suplex. Race added after Manny Fernandez interfered. Race asked how he beat Austin Idol and Blanchard said he knew what Race was trying to say. Race said if Blanchard could win on his own, without interference from someone else help then maybe he can have a match next month at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view. Race walked away as Blanchard and Baby Doll looked on.

Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater pinned LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys in 13:44 by pinfall in a non-title match when Orton pinned Brian Knobbs after the Bass Brothers interfered and Outlaw Ron Bass hit Knobbs with the Texas Gourdbuster. After the match, as Orton and Slater stood victorious the Bass Brothers left ringside and realized what it meant for them if they won the LCW World Tag Team Championships from the Nasty Boys at LCW Night of Horrors: Orton and Slater were coming after them.
