LCW Showdown Television Results 09.30.09

LCW Showdown Television Results (September 30, 2009) live from the Breslin Events Center in East Lansing, MI.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko discussed the announcement last week from LCW General Manager Harley Race about the main event at LCW Night of Horrors. Schiavone said that last week, Race announcing that LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin would not defend the title at LCW Night of Horrors after being powerbombed on the entrance stage by the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship, Sid Vicious, two weeks ago. Race announced that Austin wouldn’t be medically cleared to compete at Night of Horrors and said that someone would defend the title on his behalf. He said that either Bill Goldberg or Magnum TA would defend the title on Austin’s behalf against Sid Vicious and tonight’s main event would determine who that man would be. He also reminded everyone that whoever goes on to face Vicious at Night of Horrors, if he can beat Vicious and retain the title for Austin, he will automatically become the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship.

The Bass Brothers, Black Bart, and Dirty Dutch Mantel (with Maw Bass) defeated LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys and the Young Stallions in 9:13 in an eight-man tag team match by pinfall when Outlaw Ron Bass pinned Paul Roma after the Texas Goudbuster. After the match, LCW General Manager Harley Race appeared on the LegendsTron and congratulated the Bass Brothers and announced that at LCW Night of Horrors they would face the Nasty Boys for the LCW World Tag Team Championships! The Bass Brothers celebrated with Maw Bass as the Nasty Boys and the Young Stallions left ringside and the Nasty Boys motioned to the ring for the Bass Brothers to bring it on.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) defeated Tito Santana in 12:22 by pinfall when Blanchard pinned Santana after the slingshot suplex after Manny Fernandez interfered and hit Santana with the Flying Burrito. After the match, as Fernandez left ringside, Blanchard celebrated with Baby Doll.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Austin Idol and Tracy Smothers defeated Wildfire Tommy Rich and Hollywood John Tatum (with Missy Hyatt) in 7:12 by pinfall when Idol pinned Tatum after the Heartthrob Bomb piledriver. After the match, Rich attacked Idol and hit him with the Wildfire Driver before leaving ringside with Hyatt and Tatum.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart defeated Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) in 6:46 by submission with the Sharpshooter. During the match, Sullivan was near the ropes as Hart had him in the Sharpshooter. One Man Gang came out and confronted Luna Vachon. Sullivan was reaching out for the ropes and begging for Vachon to help him reach the ropes. Gang was standing between Sullivan in the ring and Vachon on the floor and moved out of the way so Vachon could help Sullivan, but she wouldn’t. Gang leaned into the ring and punched Sullivan in the face and Hart pulled Sullivan from the ropes to the center of the ring and Sullivan submitted. Gang walked away with a smile on his face as he and Vachon exchanged words.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Col. Robert Parker, who was with Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater. Parker said he was so impressed by Stan Hansen’s performance last week that he made Hansen an offer and it was an offer that Stan Hansen accepted: his services as Hansen’s manager. Stan Hansen appeared and said Parker would be the missing piece in the puzzle that would complete the puzzle. Parker said he was going to be the missing piece in the puzzle that was going to get the LCW Universal Championship back around Hansen’s waist. Parker walked away with Hansen and Orton and Slater trailed behind as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Marty Jannetty and the Fantastics defeated Stan Hansen, Cowboy Bob Orton, and Dirty Dick Slater (with Col. Robert Parker) in 7:31 in a six-man tag team match by disqualification after Dirty Dutch Mantel and Black Bart, with their manager Maw Bass, came out and interfered in the match, attacking Marty Jannetty and the Fantastics. Hansen, Orton, and Slater took offense to Bart and Mantel interfering in the match and the two teams started arguing with each other. The Bass Brothers came out and sided with Bart and Mantel as the argument started escalating to shoving. Maw Bass and Col. Robert Parker started arguing with each other and Maw Bass slapped Parker across the face. Parker and Bass stared at each other for a moment before they embraced and started making out. Hansen, Orton, Slater, Mantel, Bart, and the Bass Brothers looked disgusted and tried to separate the two. Orton and Slater managed to pull Parker off of Maw Bass. Parker demanded a microphone as the guys started arguing again. Parker said, “Enough! Stop it! All of you, stop it! Come on! Don’t you see what this could be? Look around. Look around the ring. This is perhaps the most dominant assemblage of men in the history of this company. Can you imagine what we could do if we banded together?” Maw Bass grabbed the microphone and said, “He’s right, guys. If we banded together, all of us, we’d be the most unstoppable force in professional wrestling. What do you think, guys?” Everyone in the ring looked at each other for a moment before they started brawling with each other again. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, “If they could get their issues worked out, this could be the most dominant group in the history of professional wrestling!”

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) defeated One Man Gang in 5:42 by pinfall after the Shake, Rattle and Roll swinging neckbreaker after Hart tripped Gang from ringside. After the match, Hart and Honky Tonk said into the camera, “Look out, Hitman, ‘cause you’re going to be on my list of Greatest Hits soon and that title is going to be mine, baby!”

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Paul Orndorff defeated LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page in 10:34 by pinfall with a small package rollup in a non-title match. After the match, LCW General Manager Harley Race came out and announced that Page would defend the LCW United States Championship against Paul Orndorff at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view on Sunday, October 11th.

Backstage Sean Mooney stopped Lock on her way to the ring and asked her comments on taking Luna's place in the battle royal. Lock grabbed the microphone from his hands and got right into his face. "Luna is my sister. Not by blood, but by something deeper. We are sisters by darkness. I would do anything for her and that includes destroying Madusa. If Madusa was half the woman Luna is, then she would have never taken the coward's way out. Madusa was afraid of real competition. Now its time to give her something to really be afraid of". The Spider Lady walked up beside her. "My new friend and I are going to make Madusa wish she never came to LCW in the first place". Lock shoved the microphone into Mooney's chest and the pair walked away as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Lock and Spider Lady defeated Terri Powers and Peggy Lee Leather in 6:04 by pinfall after Spider Lady pinned Leather with a rollup while holding the ropes. When the referee went to raise their arms, Lock pushed him away and raised her own and Spider Lady's as she made the belt motion to her waist.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The lights in the arena went out and thunder rolled and lightning struck the LegendsTron before a video package aired featuring religious symbolism and a voiceover that said, “He will show you the truth, the light, the way. He never claimed to be an icon, but struck down with furious vengeance those who misled you. The Veritas is coming…”

Magnum TA defeated Bill Goldberg in 12:04 by pinfall after LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams interfered and hit Goldberg with a spear. After the match, from the broadcast booth, Larry Zbyszko said, “I don’t know how smart of idea that was for Dr. Death Steve Williams. He could have had Bill Goldberg focused on Sid Vicious and becoming the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship by beating him going into Night of Horrors and now Bill Goldberg is focused only on him and winning the LCW International Championship.” LCW General Manager Harley Race came out and announced that next week’s main event would feature an eight-man tag team elimination match with the team of Magnum TA, LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams, LCW Heritage Champion Bret Hart, and Paul Orndorff taking on the team of Sid Vicious, Bill Goldberg, LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page, and the Honky Tonk Man!
