LCW Showdown Television Preview 09.14.09: The Race is On!
Showdown Recap:
Last week, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway wanted to do the men on his WarGames squad – who helped him regain Chairmanship of the company – a favor. Thus, he gave Bret Hart a shot at the LCW Heritage Championship. Macho Man Randy Savage got a chance at the LCW United States Title, and Magnum TA and Nikita Koloff got their chance at the LCW World Tag Team Championship belts. As for LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin, he saw action against LCW International Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams.
Of those in action, Bret Hart claimed the LCW Heritage Title, defeating Sid Vicious in a brutal affair. Savage came up just short in his title match against Diamond Dallas Page, and it would be a disqualification victory – but no titles – for Magnum and Nikita.
A Psycho Dr. or A Vicious Death?
In this weeks main event, under mandate from LCW General Manager Harley Race, the number-one contender for the LCW Universal Championship Sid Vicious will take on Dr. Death Steve Williams – the LCW International Champion – in the main event. And though it will be non-title, Vicious is looking to prove to himself and the rest of the Legends Championship Wrestling roster that he can hang with a champion. After all, he'll be doing it again at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view on Sunday, October 11th, when he challenges Stone Cold Steve Austin for the strap. And where will Goldberg be in this epic main event? He became the number-one contender for the LCW International Championship by eliminating 11 Legends (the most this year) in the Survival Project 50-man Gauntlet Tournament two weeks ago. Goldberg and Austin will surely be looking on this week, as we hit the road for the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view event.
Though, that's not all Goldberg has to worry about!
Tag Team Turmoil:
This week's LCW Showdown, on top of the blockbuster main event, will feature a tag team grudge match. It will be Magnum TA and Nikita Koloff vs. LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page and Bill Goldberg in a tag team semi-main event match. Magnum TA's war with Bill Goldberg started a few months ago when, as Ted Turner was running the company, Magnum TA was attacked in the locker room at LCW Beach Brawl. Goldberg professed his innocence, but some say Magnum has never truly gotten over it. After all, it was that very incident which cost Magnum a chance to regain the then-vacated LCW Universal Championship. Now, Magnum gets his chance at retribution, but can he come out victorious?
Taming The Bully:
When “The Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez was revealed to be the man who attacked Tito Santana in the locker room for the past couple of months, this lit a fire underneath Santana. Last week on LCW Showdown, Santana promised to “put down Fernandez”, like he had done with other bullies. Santana would then interfere in Fernandez's match against Paul Orndorff, and would get the upper hand. This rivalry has only just begun, and you can only imagine what will happen when these two are under the same roof yet again this week.
The Veritas:
Last week, the LCW audience was left in confusion when a vignette aired for the debut of someone. Under the guise of the Veritas this person is looking to make a big impact upon his arrival in Legends Championship Wrestling. Who is this person? When will they arrive? What will they do?! Stay tuned to find out.
The Young Stallions:
Last week, the Young Stallions reformed in a winning effort. Their goal has been set and locked: they want the LCW World Tag Team Championships. Can they get any closer to their dreams this week?
Find out the answers to all the questions this Wednesday on LCW Showdown at 8pm only on LCWShowdown.com! Also, stay tuned to LCWNightofHorrors for the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view exclusively, Sunday October 11, 2009!
