LCW Showdown Television Results 06.03.09

LCW Showdown Television Results (June 3, 2009) live from the Celeste Center in Columbus, OH.

Tonight's episode is dedicated in loving memory to "The Golden Greek" John Tolos 1930-2009).

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko talked about the contract signing tonight between LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and Ric Flair for their main event match at LCW SuperClash on June 14th.

In the ring, a table was setup for the contract signing between Magnum TA and Ric Flair. Sean Mooney introduced the LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA, who came down to ringside and joined Mooney in the ring, taking his seat at the table. Ric Flair, Barry Windham, JJ Dillon, LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard, and Baby Doll came out and joined them in the ring. Windham said last week Flair was the better man and proved it when he beat him to become the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship. Windham said he would get his shot again one day. He handed the microphone to Flair and Flair talked about beating Magnum at SuperClash and becoming the LCW Universal Champion one more time! He talked about being the man once again and proving once and for all that Magnum TA would have never been NWA World Heavyweight Champion because he was never the man. Flair said to be the man he would have had to have beaten the man and the man he would have had to have beaten was Ric Flair and that would have never happened. Flair said it wouldn’t have happened 25 years ago and it’s not going to happen in two weeks at LCW SuperClash. Flair and Magnum signed the contract. As Magnum went to leave the ring, Blanchard and Windham attacked him from behind. Flair joined in the attack until Stone Cold Steve Austin came out and cleared the Horsemen out of the ring. As the Horsemen were leaving the ring, LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich, Austin Idol, and Hollywood John Tatum came out and attacked Flair, Windham, and Blanchard, focusing their attack on Blanchard until Flair and Windham recovered from the initial attack and chased them away. With Rich, Idol, and Tatum on the run, Flair challenged Austin and Magnum to a tag team match tonight!

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed an irate LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard, with his valet Baby Doll, challenged LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich to a match at LCW SuperClash. Blanchard said before that he had some business to take care of with Rich and his buddies and he challenged them to a six man tag team match tonight. Mooney asked who Blanchard’s partners would be since his fellow Horsemen, Ric Flair and Barry Windham, would be facing LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event. Blanchard said, “They’re not the only Horsemen in the building, Mooney.” Blanchard walked away with Baby Doll.

LCW Heritage Champion Nikita Koloff and Sgt. Slaughter (with Ken Patera) defeated the Bolsheviks (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al Kassie) in 5:41 by pinfall when Koloff pinned Boris Zhukov after the Russian Sickle clothesline. After the match, Koloff, Slaughter, and Patera celebrated on the entrance ramp. Meanwhile, in the ring, Akbar and Al-Kassie blamed Zhukov for the loss. Zhukov started yelling back at Akbar and Al-Kassie. Volkoff pushed Zhukov away and Volkoff, Akbar, and Al-Kassie walked away without Zhukov.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW United States Champion Macho Man Randy Savage and Tito Santana defeated Rick Martel and The Genius Lanny Poffo in 7:03 by submission with the figure four leglock. After the match, Santana refused to release the figure four leglock. Poffo hit Savage with his metal scroll and then hit Santana as well before rolling Martel out of the ring and helping him up the entrance ramp. As Savage and Santana slowly recovered from being hit with the metal scroll, Martel challenged Santana to a match at LCW SuperClash, an I Quit match. Martel said he was going to make Santana say, “I quit!” Santana said that wasn’t enough for him. He wanted more. He said he was fine with making Martel say “I quit,” but he wanted it to have more lasting consequences. Santana said he wanted to make it a Loser Leaves LCW, I Quit match. Santana said if Martel could accept that stipulation than he would be more than willing to make him say “I quit” and be the one to send him out of Legends Championship Wrestling once and for all!

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Dr. Death Steve Williams defeated Bill Goldberg in 5:33 by disqualification after Diamond Dallas Page came out with his robe, crown, and scepter and broke the scepter over Williams’ head. After the match, Page and Goldberg attacked Williams, but he kept trying to get up. Page yelled at Williams to stay down, but he wouldn’t and kept trying to get up to his feet. Williams, busted open from the scepter, but he wouldn’t stay down. Goldberg hit Williams with the Jackhammer before leaving the ring with Page. As Page and Goldberg made their way up the entrance ramp, Williams, his face covered in blood, started slowly pulling himself up on the ropes. When he reached the entrance stage, Page challenged Williams to a match at LCW SuperClash. Page said if Williams didn’t want to stay down he would make sure he stayed down for good once and for all. Page challenged Williams to a last man standing match. From the ring, the dazed Williams, bloody, signaled to Page to come back to the ring, but Page and Goldberg just walked away.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Doom. Butch Reed talked about losing Slick as their manager. Reed wished him a speedy recovery, but said they had to move on without him. Ron Simmons said they were moving forward because they had their eyes set on one single prize, the LCW Unified Tag Team Championships. Reed said if they had to go through the Skyscrapers to become the champions, then they would be bringing those two buildings down at LCW SuperClash.

LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard came out with Baby Doll and introduced his tag team partners for the upcoming six-man tag team match against LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich, Austin Idol, and Hollywood John Tatum. Blanchard introduced Arn Anderson and Ole Anderson who both came out. As the show went to commercial, the audience exploded as Blanchard and the Andersons made their way to ringside with Baby Doll.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll), Arn Anderson, and Ole Anderson defeated LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich (with Missy Hyatt), Austin Idol and Hollywood John Tatum in 6:09 by pinfall when Blanchard pinned Tatum after the spike piledriver. After the match, Blanchard celebrated with the Andersons and Baby Doll. Missy Hyatt tried to get into the ring to get at Baby Doll, but Rich held her back. After the match, Baby Doll challenged Missy Hyatt to a mixed tag team match next week on LCW Showdown. She said it could be a preview of LCW SuperClash when Blanchard beats Rich and takes the LCW Television Championship from him. Baby Doll said she was going to equalize Missy Hyatt and make sure she wasn’t a factor in the match at LCW SuperClash in two weeks.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}


Kevin Sullivan and Sir Oliver Humperdink (with Luna Vachon) defeated Paul Orndorff in 7:14 by pinfall when Humperdink pinned Sullivan after Luna Vachon hit Orndorff with a low blow and Sullivan hit Orndorff with a DDT. After the match, as Sullivan, Humperdink, and Vachon, pleased with themselves, walked up the entrance ramp, Orndorff made his way to his feet and asked for a microphone. Orndorff said he wanted to end this thing with Sullivan once and for all and he wanted to put an end to Sullivan once and for all. He said he was tired of Humperdink and Vachon interfering all the time. Orndorff challenged Sullivan to a steel cage match at LCW SuperClash. Sullivan accepted the challenge and told Orndorff to enjoy the majesty of this year’s SuperClash because it would be his last one.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the Destruction Crew who talked about their match tonight with the Skyscrapers. Wayne Bloom said they were dedicating their next match to the late John Tolos. Mike Enos said they knew their “Coach” was looking down on them and they said they would make him proud tonight with a victory over the Skyscrapers and then a win over the LCW Unified Tag Team Champions after LCW SuperClash.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Destruction Crew defeated the Skyscrapers in 4:27 by countout. During the match, the referee was accidentally knocked out and the Destruction Crew knocked the Skyscrapers out of the ring. Moments later, Doom ran out and attacked the Skyscrapers.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Big Van Vader and Stan Hansen who talked about their argument last week on LCW Showdown which led to a brawl. Hansen said he was doing Vader a favor because he respects him, but that wouldn’t stop him from kicking his ass if he needed to. Hansen reminded Vader who the captain of the team was. Vader said he was the captain of the team and the two started brawling again. LCW Founder Christian Calaway appeared and said, “It looks like we have an impromptu street fight.” Calaway called for a referee and sent him to follow Hansen and Vader.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Big Van Vader wrestled Stan Hansen to a no contest in 2:06 in a street fight after Manny Fernandez and Terry Funk interfered and attacked Vader and Hansen. After the match, Fernandez and Funk attacked Vader and Hansen until they started working together and managed to gain the advantage on Funk and Fernandez. One Man Gang came out with King Kong Bundy and they attacked both Funk and Fernandez and Vader and Hansen. Gang and Bundy focused on Fernandez and Hansen and Vader focused on Funk. Security officials ran in to separate the three teams.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Bret Hart about the status of the Hart Foundation. Hart said the Hart Foundation was cracked. He said he always knew Jim Neidhart was a little unstable, but he never knew something like this would happen. He never thought Neidhart would attack the Dynamite Kid and he never thought Neidhart would attack him. Hart said if Neidhart wanted to settle their issues, he’d be at LCW SuperClash and maybe they could settle their issues then.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

On the LegendsTron, a video played on the LegendsTron featuring Britney Spears and announcing that she’d be performing her hit, “Circus” live at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view in two weeks.

Barry Windham and Ric Flair defeated LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and Stone Cold Steve Austin in 12:29 by pinfall when Flair pinned Magnum after Arn Anderson interfered and hit Magnum with a spinebuster. During the match, Bill Goldberg came out and brawled with Austin to the back. Windham went outside the ring and handed the title to Flair, who looked at the title and stood over Magnum as the show went off the air.
