LCW Showdown Television Preview 06.10.09: The Last Stop Before SuperClash

The Future of the Company:
It was announced on LCW's Official Twitter account (twitter.com/lcwrestling) last week that LCW may be in danger of losing their network deal to broadcast LCW Showdown. The network, owned by Ted Turner, is unsure if they will continue broadcasting the highly rated wrestling program and we are unsure if a deal was made to keep the show on the air. The contract, which is set to expire in three weeks, was being renegotiated and the strained relationship between LCW Founder Christian Calaway and LCW Chairman of the Board Ted Turner, and their pending confrontation at LCW SuperClash this Sunday, only makes the negotiations more difficult. We undertsand that Calaway will have a bombshell announcement regarding the future of Legends Championship Wrestling on this week's edition of LCW Showdown at the start of the show.

A Sight for Sore Eyes:
The end of last week's edition of LCW Showdown was a sight that some LCW fans had to look away from. The show ended, with the number-one contender for the LCW Universal Championship, Ric Flair, standing over the champion, Magnum TA, with the title. Fans, and legends, are still outraged that Flair is still being allowed to have his title shot at LCW SuperClash. And with SuperClash just days away, you have got to know Magnum TA is chomping at the bit to get his hands on the Nature Boy.

Brawl to end it All:
Last week, during a tag team main event, Bill Goldberg and Stone Colt Steve Austin brawled to the back, leaving Austin's tag team partner, Magnum TA on his own. Austin and Goldberg, who will clash this Sunday, will not only be fighting for themselves, but will also be fighting to determine who is the Chairman of the Board; Ted Turner or Christian Calaway. A brawl last week, and a match this Sunday, the question is what will happen this week on LCW Showdown?

Hart-felt Challenge:
Last week, Bret Hart laid it all on the table to his former Hart Foundation tag team partner, Jim The Anvil Neidhart. Hart said he would be at SuperClash and if Neidhart wanted to settle their issues they could do it then and there. A couple of weeks ago, the Dynamite Kid revealed the person who attacked him backstage about a month ago to be Neidhart. Then, after the revelation, Neidhart proceeded to tell Hart that he did it for them. When Hart was having none of it, Neidhart attacked him. Hart made the challenge last week, but will he get a response from the man some are dubbing “Benedict Anvil”?

Imploding Disciples:
The Disciples of Allah are imploding before our very eyes. Last week, when the Bolsheviks lost in a match against LCW Heritage Champion Nikita Koloff and Sgt. Slaughter, their managers, General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie berated Boris Zhuvkov for the loss. Even his own partner, Nikolai Kolvoff blamed him. With a six man tag team match just days away, and the Disciples of Allah imploding from within, can they get back on track and keep the Disciples of together? Or is this the end of one of the most hated factions in LCW?

Rich Revenge:
An attack on LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard, orchestrated by LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich, led to a six man tag team match between the two. With Blanchard teaming with the returning Arn and Ole Anderson for one night only, and Rich teaming with Austin Idol and Hollywood John Tatum. After the match, Baby Doll, fed up with Missy Hyatt, laid out a challenge. In an attempt to neutralize Hyatt this Sunday, the Perfect 10 challenged her to a mixed tag match this week on Showdown, with the lovely lady legends teaming with their charges. The challenge has been accepted and the match will happen this week on LCW Showdown. I can hear it now, “Catfight!”

Also, watch out for:
Last week, Big Van Vader and Stan Hansen, still unable to get along, had an impromptu street fight. The fight stopped, as Terry Funk and Manny Fernandez, and One Man Gang and King Kong Bundy made their presence felt. What will happen this week, just days away from the Triple Threat Tag Match for the Unified LCW Tag Team Titles? And as the division heats up, which teams will step up in the next few weeks to be crowned number-one contenders?

Also, Rick Martel and Tito Santana will meet to finally settle the score on Sunday – in a loser leaves LCW I Quit match. What will go down this week?
