LCW Showdown Television Preview: Road to Uprising

This weeks LCW Showdown is the final stop before the LCW Uprising pay-per-view this Sunday, and what a wild ride it's been in LCW these past few months. Uprising, Sunday, marks the beginning of the countdown to the biggest event of the year - LCW SuperClash 2009. Can you afford to miss this?

Well, if you're still unsure, take a look at what we have in store for you this week...

In the main event this week, it's a six-man tag team match that incorporates three LCW Uprising matches as LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA, LCW Heritage Champion Nikita Koloff, and Billy Jack Haynes take on Barry Windham, Butch Reed, and LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard. LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA is set to defend his gold against Barry Windham at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view, while Butch Reed sets his eyes on taking the LCW Heritage Title from the "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff, and LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard takes on Billy Jack Haynes for Blanchard's title. This main event has all the makings of, to quote a wrestling legend, Jim Ross, an absolute slobber knocker. Make sure you check it out!

Over the past few weeks, the LCW World Tag Team Champions and the LCW United States Tag Team Champions seem to have been crossing paths a bit more than usual. It all started when LCW World Tag Team Champion Manny Fernandez met LCW United States Tag Team Champions Terry Funk in the arena corridor, and Funk made it clear he was disappointed at Fernandez choosing to team up with One Man Gang to become World Tag Team Champions, and Funk made a comment about him and Vader possibly taking the World Tag Titles from Fernandez and Gang. This week, Manny Fernandez is set to take on Big Van Vader in a singles match. Could this be leading to a match between the two sets of Tag Team Champions at Uprising? And to make matters more interesting, could we be seeing the unification of the LCW Tag Team Championships? Tune into Showdown to find out.

Last week, Sgt. Slaughter attacked Stan Hansen, in what some were calling a provoked attack, after Hansen attacked Slaughter at the LCW Torment pay-per-view last month. It has already been announced that Hansen and Slaughter will meet, as approved by the LCW Board of Directors, in a match at LCW Uprising this Sunday. What will Hansen have to say about Slaughter hitting him with the Slaughter Cannon last week, and will he have some retaliation?

Koko B. Ware has been on a mission to prove that he is a credible challenger to the LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich, taking on whoever Missy Hyatt can throw at him. Making it worse for Ware, Hyatt has been refereeing the matches. Last week, Ware went through Hollywood John Tatum. This week, the final challenge sees Ware taking on Austin Idol, another member of Hyatt International with, yet again, Hyatt as special guest referee. The big question, however, doesn't concern Ware. The big question is, could we be seeing a rematch of LCW Torment at Uprising should Idol win this match?

The King of the Legends tournament is reaching its final sprint now, and last week, a no contest in a match between Macho Man Randy Savage and Bill Goldberg means that Diamond Dallas Page, the initiator of the tournament, gets a bye to the finals. Goldberg and Savage started their rivalry back at LCW Torment, when Savage returned to Legends Championship Wrestling and cost Goldberg the LCW Universal Championship. Those two will meet at LCW Uprising this Sunday! As for the King of the Legends Tournament, Dr. Death Steve Williams faces Abdullah the Butcher this week on Showdown, with the winner facing Page at LCW Uprising on Sunday. Who will come out on top and face Page this Sunday, in the finals of the tournament?

The Dynamite Kid is on a mission to find out who attacked him in the locker room two weeks ago on Showdown, and took his shot at the LCW Tag Team Championships away from him. His search will continue this week, but will he find the culprit?

Check out LCW Showdown this Wednesday, as the final stop to LCW Uprising takes center stage. With Legends Championship Wrestling, you can never tell who might show up!
