LCW Showdown Television Preview April 8, 2009: It All Comes Down to Sunday

Last week on LCW Showdown, it was made one-hundred percent official: the main event for the LCW Torment 2009 pay-per-view will feature LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA, the longest reigning Champion in LCW history, defending his title against Bill Goldberg. With a pinch of enthusiasm from the fans of Legends Championship Wrestling, the ultimate clash will go down live on April 12, 2009. Last week, Goldberg and Magnum signed the contract, and later that night, Goldberg teamed with Diamond Dallas Page to overcome the duo of Mganum and Dr. Death Steve Williams. With this being the last stop until Torment, what could possibly go down between Goldberg and LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA? Tune in to find out.

It was in an eight-man tournament that Austin Idol became the number-one contender for the LCW Television Champion, currently held by Wildfire Tommy Rich. Idol will face Rich one-on-one at the LCW Torment pay-per-view for the title. However, in order to do so, Idol had to go through Hyatt International ally Hollywood John Tatum. After the match, Rich and Tatum attacked Idol, seemingly causing an irrevocable rift in the newly formed stable. What will LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich have to say to his new number-one contender, Austin Idol, this week on Showdown?

LCW Chairman of the Board Ted Turner went up to LCW Headquarters in Sacramento, California last week, in order to explain his actions as of late. While Turner pleaded that he was only wanting what was best for Legends Championship Wrestling, some fans aren’t buying it. With Turner’s most recent actions, bringing in Bill Goldberg, aligning with Diamond Dallas Page, and seemingly looking to take over complete control of LCW with the help of LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff, is Turner’s plea true? Or is this the beginning of Turner’s evil reign over Legends Championship Wrestling?

Two weeks ago, Mr. Fuji issued an open challenge for any LCW team to face his boys, the LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain, a challenge taken up by the Rock N’ Roll Express. While Morton and Gibson picked up the win, they later found out it wasn’t for the titles. However, at the LCW Torment pay-per-view the titles WILL be up for grabs. What does Mr. Fuji have in store for the tandem trying to take the LCW United States Tag Team Championships from his boys?

Ken Patera was eliminated from the LCW Television title tournament last week, after being hit in the face by a fireball by General Skandor Akbar, preceding an attack by Abdullah the Butcher. Later in the night, LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff announced that, due to Patera’s injury, he would not be able to continue in the tournament or face Abdullah at the LCW Torment pay-per-view, in spite of Patera's adamant requests for the match. It was, however, announced that Patera’s ally Sgt. Slaughter would face Abdullah instead. Ken Patera sat down will sit down for a special interview with Bill Mercer to speak about the fireball incident.

The Long Riders were certainly out to make a statement last week, when they attacked Col. Robert Parker in the locker room. How will Parker’s team, the Stud Stable: Dirty Dick Slater and Cowboy Bob Orton react to this? They promised revenge last week. Will they made good on their promise?

Also this week on Showdown as the build to the LCW Torment pay-per-view continues: LCW United States Champion Rick Martel and Magnificent Don Muraco are under the same roof one last time before LCW Torment and what is the condition of King Kong Bundy, as he was seemingly injured last week during a tag match. Will One Man Gang need a new partner to face LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys at the LCW Torment pay-per-view?

All these questions to be answered and much much more this week on LCW Showdown. Check it out this Wednesday only on LCWShowdown.com!
