LCW Showdown Television Preview 04.15.09: Showdown Sweepstakes

As announced this past Sunday at the LCW Torment pay-per-view, it's a three-hour spectacular this week for LCW Showdown, and that's for a very good reason, LCW's newest innovation: Showdown Sweepstakes!

As per usual, LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff is always finding new and innovative ways to entertain the audience, and this Wednesday on Showdown will be absolutely no different. Bischoff's latest concept is called: Showdown Sweepstakes. The concept is simple: every title in LCW will be on the line and every title will have a contenders match, the contenders for that night's matches as well as the matches featuring the contenders will all be drawn at random.

Magnum TA is still the LCW Universal Champion, continuing his illustrious title reign, when he defeated Goldberg in the main event of this past Sunday's LCW Torment pay-per-view. Always ready to defend the title, will Magnum find out his next contender this week on LCW Showdown: Showdown Sweepstakes?

Diamond Dallas Page got the win over Dr. Death Steve Williams this past Sunday, in a great bout. Page's LCW career has really taken off since aligning himself with the dubbed, but not embraced, Evil Empire: LCW Chairman Ted Turner, LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff and Goldberg. What's next for Page?

This past Sunday, in what is being called a great match between LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich and Austin Idol, it appeared as if Hyatt International is back in full force - with Idol back in the group. Throughout the match, Hyatt and Hollywood John Tatum tried to interfere, but were pushed back by Rich, who said that he wanted it to be a fair match. It was later revealed in an interview that Idol was back in the group, but can he trust them?

Coming out of LCW Torment this past Sunday, we have new LCW World Tag Team Champions in Manny Fernandez and One Man Gang, and this week on LCW Showdown they, like every other LCW Champion will be put to the test, as they defend their newly won titles as stipulated in the Showdown Sweepstakes. Fernandez made clear this past Sunday that he wasn't doing anything for Gang or King Kong Bundy by teaming with Gang, but he was it for his deceased former Awesome Twosome partner Ravishing Rich Rude, the tenth anniversary of his death coming up soon.

The Long Riders got one over on Col. Robert Parker's boys Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater when Don Bass, Outlaw Ron Bass' brother and Maw Bass' son, interfered with and blasted Orton with his shoe. What is next for these two teams and their bitter feud?

Paul Orndorff beat LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard this past Sunday, but only by disqualification after Kevin Sullivan interfered. Sullivan, who later lost his LCW Heritage Championship to Nikita Koloff, was verbally berated last week by Orndorff. It's clear he didn't take this verbal beat down lightly, as evidenced by his actions. Orndorff got his revenge later in the night, costing Sullivan the LCW Heritage Championship. Orndorff has now aligned himself with Sir Oliver Humperdink, but what will come of this relationship? What's next between Sullivan and Orndorff? And can Blanchard successfully defend his title this week in Showdown Sweepstakes?

Every title will be on the line and every title will have a contenders match. That's 14 matches on one incredible, three hour show! Check it out this Wednesday only on LCWShowdown.com!
