LCW Showdown Television Results 03.18.09
Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated in loving memory to Andrew "Test" Martin (March 17, 1975-March 13, 2009).
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko discussed the bombshell announcement from LCW Chairman of the Board Ted Turner who named Eric Bischoff as the new LCW General Manager last week on LCW Showdown.
LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff came out and announced that tonight’s main event would feature a tag team match with LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA teaming Koko B. Ware, the man that, with help from Magnum, managed to score a pinfall upset over the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship the Great Muta last week on LCW Showdown. Bischoff announced that Magnum and Ware would face the team of the Great Muta and Masahiro Chono tonight! The Great Muta and Masahiro Chono came out and cut a promo in Japanese as the audience booed before walking to the back with LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff.
Kendo Nagasaki and the Great Kabuki defeated the Orient Express (with Mr. Fuji) in 5:17 by pinfall when Kabuki pinned Sato after a thrust kick. After the match, Kabuki and Nagasaki chased Fuji to the entrance stage. Once Kabuki and Nagasaki reached the entrance stage, they were attacked by LCW World Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain. After the Powers of Pain stopped beating down Nagasaki and Kabuki, Fuji grabbed a microphone and said, “Kabuki. Nagasaki. We put titles on the line. You put career on the line.” Fuji smiled as he walked away with the Powers of Pain.

Paul Orndorff came out ready for his match with LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Sullivan, but Sullivan didn’t come out. Orndorff called out Sullivan and Sullivan came out, but with help from Luna Vachon. Sullivan was holding himself up with help from a crutch. Sullivan announced that he and Vachon partied a little too hard last night and he’d be unable to defend the title tonight. Orndorff went to exit the ring, but LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff came out and told him to stay in the ring and announced that the medics in the back had checked out Sullivan and he was legitimately injured and wouldn’t be able to compete. Bischoff said he didn’t want to know what Sullivan and Vachon were doing, but warned Sullivan that he had better be ready to defend the title by this Sunday at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view because he’d be defending the title against Orndorff and if he couldn’t defend the title, then he would have to forfeit the match and the title to Orndorff. Sullivan seemed all right with the announcement and turned to leave, but Bischoff stopped him and said Sullivan needed to pick a replacement for his match with Orndorff tonight because the match was still going to happen. Bischoff gave Sullivan thirty minutes to find an opponent for Orndorff. Sullivan whispered in Vachon’s ear and she whispered back in his ear and Sullivan smiled and told Orndorff he would see him later in the evening with an opponent of his choosing. Sullivan and Vachon walked away.
In the back, Maw Bass confronted Col. Robert Parker and asked him for a rematch between the Stud Stable and the Long Riders. Bass told Parker that he screwed her over two weeks ago and she owed him. Parker said he didn’t owe her anything and suggested that if she wasn’t so old maybe she would be able to hear him when he said that everything that happened between then was business. Maw Bass said her boys kicking Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater’s asses tonight was also going to be business. Parker said it wasn’t going to happen because Orton and Slater weren’t wrestling tonight. Maw Bass got in Parker’s face and said, “Listen to me, you dirty, snake oil selling son of a bitch. One way or another, your boys are getting their asses kicked and I can guarantee that it’s going to be an ass kicking that is going to send them home crying to their mamas. And then my boys are going on to the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view this Sunday and taking the LCW World Tag Team Championships from those Nasty Boys.” Parker said he loved it when she got angry and kissed her on the lips. She slapped him across the face and walked away.

In the back, Diamond Dallas Page and Dr. Death Steve Williams approached LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff who seemed genuinely happy to see his old friend. Page said he was glad that Bischoff was the new General Manager and was looking forward to beating Tully Blanchard at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view this Sunday. Bischoff said, “About that…” Page said, “What about that?” Bischoff replied, “We’re going to have a little role reversal tonight because last week you guys weren’t too successful in your tag team match against Blanchard and Barry Windham. So this week, we’re going to mix it up because you, Dr. Death, are going to face Tully Blanchard in a non-title match, and you, DDP, are going to face Barry Windham one-on-one.” Page said it sounded good to him and Page and Williams walked away.
Sgt. Slaughter defeated Abdullah the Butcher (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 4:08 by disqualification after the Bolsheviks interfered and attacked Slaughter. After the match, the Bolsheviks continued their assault on Slaughter until Ken Patera came out with a steel chair and cleared them out of the ring. Akbar grabbed a microphone and challenged Patera and Slaughter to a match at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view this Sunday with the Bolsheviks. Patera accepted the challenged and suggested that they didn’t have to wait until this Sunday and challenged the Bolsheviks to get back in the ring, but, after acting like they were going to accept the challenge and get back in the ring, they just walked away with Akbar and Al-Kassie as the show went to commercial.

In the back, Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin was blaming Precious for his loss last week to Don Muraco when Muraco and his manager Sir Oliver Humperdink approached them and Humperdink told Garvin that he only had himself to blame for the loss last week and he could blame himself for another loss if he wanted to get in the ring with him again. Humperdink suggested that Garvin and Muraco face each other in a rematch at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view. LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff walked by them and said, “Humperdink, I like the way you’re thinking. As a matter of fact, I like it so much that I’m going to make that match happen and I’m going to make it happen at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view, but it’s not just going to be a rematch between Garvin and Muraco. It’s going to be a rematch between Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin and Don Muraco with the winner becoming the number one contender for the LCW United States Championship! How does that sound, boys?” Muraco and Garvin both agreed to the match and Humperdink and Muraco walked away as Garvin told Precious not to screw this one up for him. Garvin and Precious walked away and after they left, Bischoff said to himself, “What a dick.”
Dr. Death Steve Williams defeated LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) in 7:23 by pinfall in a non-title match after Page interfered and hit Blanchard with the Diamond Cutter. During the match, Baby Doll tried to distract the referee so that Barry Windham could interfere, but Williams made quick work of Windham with a spear while Page came out and hit Blanchard with the Diamond Cutter while the referee was distracted.

Maw Bass came out with the Long Riders and challenged Col. Robert Parker to bring Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater to the ring for a fight or Outlaw Ron Bass and Black Bart would go looking for a fight. “And trust me when I tell you that my boys would much rather have the fight come to them than go looking for a fight. And you’d much rather bring the fight to them, because if they have to go looking for the fight it’s going to make them angry and you won’t like my boys when they’re angry.” From the broadcast booth, Larry Zbyszko joked, “When did Maw Bass start channeling the Incredible Hulk?” Col. Robert Parker came out with Orton and Slater and, from the entrance ramp, turned down the challenge stating that they had already proved themselves worthy of a title shot and were already the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships and were going to take the titles from the Nasty Boys this Sunday. LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff came out and said, “Wait a minute, Col. Parker. Wait a minute. First of all, I’m really getting sick and tired of people around here saying when they will and when they won’t wrestle. Second of all, you’re not the number one contenders…yet. See, Col. Parker, you neglected to sign the contract for the match at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view this Sunday so technically, officially, the Nasty Boys don’t have an opponent yet.” Parker threw a fit saying he hadn’t signed the contract yet because he still had some details to work out with Bischoff and Bischoff said, “Good, then you can work out this final detail. Orton and Slater will be wrestling tonight and they will face the Long Riders and the winners of the match will go on to face the Nasty Boys at Breaking Point this Sunday.” Parker said Bischoff couldn’t do that and said that it wasn’t fair because Orton and Parker had already beaten the Long Riders. Bischoff said he could do that and if they beat the Long Riders once he was sure they could do it again. Bischoff went to walk away, but stopped and said, “Oh yeah, one more thing. Maw Bass, Col. Parker, please make you’re way to the back because you are both barred from ringside.” Parker threw a fit on the entrance stage as Maw Bass wished her boys luck and made her way up the entrance ramp.
Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater defeated the Long Riders in 7:42 by pinfall when Slater pinned Outlaw Ron Bass to become the number one contender for the LCW World Tag Team Championships. During the match, LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys came out and watched the match from the entrance ramp. During the match, the referee was knocked down and Bass hit Orton with the Texas Gourdbuster. As he covered Orton for the pinfall attempt, Slater climbed to the middle rope and hit Bass with an elbow smash to the back of the head. Slater then rolled Orton out of the ring as the referee regained his senses and covered Bass for the pinfall and the win. After the match, in the back, Col. Robert Parker, who was in the back watching the match on a monitor with LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff and Maw Bass, took the contract from Bischoff and signed it before giving it back Bischoff and walking away.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW United States Champion Tito Santana who warned Rick Martel that he wouldn’t get away with attacking Santana’s friend Ivan Putski like he did last week. Santana said Martel had crossed the line and Santana was going to make him pay this Sunday at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view for what he did to Putski. Santana said, “You can try to hurt me, but when you try to hurt my friends to get to me, to send a message to me, message received Rick Martel. Message received. Arriba!”
Wildfire Tommy Rich, Austin Idol, and Hollywood John Tatum (with Missy Hyatt) defeated LCW Television Champion Brutus The Barber Beefcake and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express in 9:16 by pinfall when Rich pinned Beefcake after the Wildfire Driver.
In the back, Koko B. Ware approached LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA. Ware said, “Magnum, man, I just wanted to thank you for your help last week with the Great Muta. I couldn’t have done it without you, man, and I just wanted to thank you.” Magnum said, “Me, brother? Koko, you’re being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame! That was all you. But tonight, it’s all about us beating Muta and Chono and sending the last two members of the Yakuza Mafia back to Japan. Tonight, I need your help with Chono because Muta is going to be all mine.”

The Great Muta and Masahiro Chono defeated LCW Universal Champion Magnum T.A. and Koko B. Ware in 9:14 by pinfall when Chono pinned Ware after the Yakuza Kick after Muta spit black mist in Magnum’s eyes. After the match, Magnum held his face and said to the referee, “I can’t see.” From the broadcast booth, as medical officials came into the ring and started to wrap Magnum’s eyes in gauze, Tony Schiavone said, “That was Muta’s black mist. It’s the black mist that is said to be worse than the red mist and even the green mist. The black mist could blind Magnum TA for who knows how long. Magnum might be going into LCW Breaking Point this Sunday with his vision impaired. Magnum TA has surmounted even the most impossible odds in the past, but could this be too much for even Magnum TA to overcome. Will he be able to see at LCW Breaking Point this Sunday or could we see Magnum TA leave the Staples Center this Sunday without the LCW Universal Championship?” Nikita Koloff came out and, with Koko B. Ware and the medical officials, helped his friend out of the ring as the show went off the air.
