LCW Showdown Television Results 02.18.09
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko discussed the matches tonight that would take place between LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and the Yakuza Mafia and the Disciples of Allah. Schiavone and Zbyszko reviewed footage from last week’s edition of LCW Showdown in which LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel announced that Magnum would team with the Yakuza Mafia to take on the Disciples of Allah in a ten-man tag team elimination match at the LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, with the fifth member of the Disciples of Allah being revealed and taking on Magnum TA tonight.
From the ring, ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta introduced Japanese wrestling legend Tatsumi Fujinami who was sitting in the front row. Fujinami stood up and waved at the crowd as they cheered.
Paul Orndorff defeated Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) in 6:50 by disqualification after Ric Flair interfered and attacked Paul Orndorff locking him in the figure four leglock as Sullivan hit Orndorff with the double stomp to the midsection. LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham came out and chased Sullivan and Vachon out of the ring and through the crowd to the back as security officials came out and pulled Flair off of Orndorff. As Flair yelled at the security officials and tried to get at Orndorff again, Tatsumi Fujinami jumped over the security barricade, got in the ring and grabbed Flair, hitting him with the Dragon Suplex. Flair rolled out of the ring as Fujinami asked for a microphone. Ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta handed Fujinami a microphone and Fujinami, in his thick accent, said, “Ric Flair…you…me…unfinished business!” Flair threw a fit as he exited up the entrance ramp, stalked by Fujinami to the back.

LCW United States Champion Tito Santana and Don Muraco defeated Rick Martel and Greg The Hammer Valentine (with Jimmy Hart) in 6:19 by pinfall when Santana pinned Martel after the flying forearm smash. LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham approached Flair and told him to calm down or he’d have a heart attack, “And this time it might be a real one,” referring to his “heart attack” years ago on WCW Monday Nitro. Graham said he didn’t know who invited Fujinami, but Paul Orndorff had told him that Fujinami would be in Orndorff’s corner at the LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday in Tokyo, Japan. Flair said he didn’t even care and it wouldn’t make any difference because the outcome would be the same: he would beat Paul Orndorff. Graham said that might be true, but suggested that maybe tonight Flair could try to beat him. Flair laughed and accepted the challenge.

In the back, LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys approached LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel and said that they had been good boys and didn’t say anything when the Destruction Crew stole their titles and Bockwinkel decided to use that as an opportunity to make them take back their titles, the titles that were always belonged to them, in not one, but two ladder matches. The Nasty Boys said they deserved a little respect, certainly more respect than they got after they won the locked box ladder match last week. They said they wanted to know who they were facing at the LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday. Bockwinkel said he was glad that they had brought that up because he did have a match for them at the LCW Descent pay-per-view if they were willing to accept the challenge. Bockwinkel said he had offered Mr. Fuji a chance to manage both the LCW United States Tag Team Champions and the LCW World Tag Team Champions because that’s would the case would be if his team of the Great Kabuki and Kendo Nagasaki could defeat the Nasty Boys at the LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday. The Nasty Boys told Bockwinkel to tell Fuji that that wasn’t going to happen because they were going to beat Kabuki and Nagasaki and they were sure that Terry Funk and Big Van Vader were going to beat the Powers of Pain as well.

Slater said he wanted to know what Parker had been busy doing and he said he had been busy trying to get them title shots, but since their loss to the Long Riders their stock with the LCW Board of Directors had fallen. Parker said he was trying to repair that damage. He was like President Barack Obama, trying to get a stimulus plan from the Board of Directors for Orton and Slater. Orton and Slater didn’t seem convinced and told Parker to make something happen or they would make something happen. They walked away and Parker said he would do what he could. Maw Bass then walked up to Parker with the Long Riders and Bass said, “What about my Long Riders? You said you would help me get them a title shot?” Parker said, “Don’t worry your pretty little head about a thing Miss Bass. We’re going to get you and your boys a title shot just like I promised.” Parker walked away with Maw Bass and the Long Riders.
