LCW Showdown Television Results 02.11.09
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone talked about Kevin Sullivan winning the LCW Heritage Contenders Tournament last week on LCW Showdown and announced officially that Sullivan would face LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham for the title at the LCW Descent 2009 pay-per-view on Sunday, February 22nd, in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Schiavone announced that the finals of the tournament would be revisited tonight when Kevin Sullivan faces Don Muraco in a tournament rematch. Schiavone also announced that tonight on LCW Showdown, in the main event, the team of Ric Flair, Barry Windham, and Tully Blanchard would face Paul Orndorff, Diamond Dallas Page, and LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham.
In the parking lot, a black limousine was shown arriving and LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA got out with the Yakuza Mafia (The Great Muta, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Kensuke Sasaki with their manager Genichiro Tenryu). Suddenly, the Disciples of Allah (The Iron Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, and The Bolsheviks and their managers General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) appeared and attacked Magnum and the Yakuza Mafia from behind. As they brawled, security officials arrived to separate them. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel arrived and told security to keep them apart and take them away and said he would decide what to do with them by the end of the night and would have an announcement regarding the future of both groups by the end of the show.

The Honky Tonk Man and Greg The Hammer Valentine (with Jimmy Hart) defeated LCW United States Champion Tito Santana and Rick Martel in 6:36 by pinfall when Greg Valentine pinned Tito Santana with the figure-four leglock after Rick Martel attacked Santana. During the match, Santana started the match and managed some offense early in the match, but Valentine and Honky Tonk Man trapped him in the corner and double teamed him. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ring, Martel didn’t seem too concerned and didn’t try to get in the ring or try to save Santana from double team attacks from Valentine and Honky Tonk. When Santana finally managed to get over to Martel and tag him into the match, Martel got in the ring and as Santana was getting out of the ring, Martel grabbed Santana, and body slammed him before throwing him to the Honky Tonk Man who hit Santana with the Shake, Rattle and Roll swinging neckbreaker before tagging in Valentine who applied the figure-four leglock to a defenseless and unconscious Santana for the pinfall and the win. As Honky Tonk hit Santana with the Shake, Rattle and Roll, Martel left ringside to a chorus of boos.

In the back, Mr. Fuji approached the LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain and congratulated his team on their victory over the Hart Foundation two weeks ago on LCW Showdown and said he was proud of them both. The Powers of Pain said that if Big Van Vader and Terry Funk wanted a match with them so bad, then they could have a match with them. Mr. Fuji told them to slow down and said that Vader and Funk would suffer for their actions two weeks ago and their comments last week. He said he had already spoken with LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel and the Powers of Pain would defend their titles at the LCW Descent 2009 pay-per-view in two weeks against Big Van Vader and Terry Funk, but Fuji said that Vader and Funk would have to prove themselves worthy first by facing a team of his choosing and he had the perfect team already in mind.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Rick Martel about why he turned on long-time Strike Force partner and said what just happened moments ago felt eerily familiar. Martel said his past with Santana was no secret, but they had settled their differences and agreed to reform their Strike Force tag team when they both came to Legends Championship Wrestling several years ago. He said they became LCW World Tag Team Champions and two-time LCW United States Tag Team Champions, but like always, Santana held him back. Martel said Santana wanted to keep Strike Force together when Martel wanted to branch out into singles wrestling. Then, Martel said, he was injured and Santana took that opportunity to not only do what he wanted to do, but to excel at it and become the LCW United States Champion. Martel said he was initially happy for Santana, but then he became angry, and he was man enough to admit it, he became jealous. Martel said that should have been him becoming the LCW United States Champion. Martel said it didn’t matter because he would become LCW United States Champion in time because he was going to be the one to take the title from his former partner Tito Santana. Martel walked away as Mooney looked on with a mix of shock and disappointment.
Terry Funk and Big Van Vader defeated the Orient Express (with Mr. Fuji) in 4:08 by pinfall when Big Van Vader pinned Sato after the Vader Bomb. After the match, Mr. Fuji came out with the LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain and Fuji congratulated Vader and Funk, but told them not to celebrate because they may have gotten past the Orient Express, but they wouldn’t get past the Powers of Pain at the LCW Descent 2009 pay-per-view in Tokyo, Japan. Fuji said Vader and Funk may be legends in Japan, but at the end of the day they are nothing more than “gaijins” and he was going to be very proud to watch the Powers of Pain send them back to America without the titles. Fuji laughed as he and the Powers of Pain turned around and walked away.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard, with Baby Doll, about attacking Muraco and Blanchard said it was a receipt, payback, for Muraco’s victory over Barry Windham last week in the Heritage Contenders Tournament. Blanchard said you don’t get to embarrass the Horsemen without paying a price and Muraco just paid the price and was given his receipt. Blanchard said if Muraco had a problem with it, he could address the issue with him personally. Blanchard and Baby Doll walked away.
LCW Television Champion Brutus The Barber Beefcake defeated Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin (with Precious) in 6:21 by pinfall after the high knee lift. After the match, as Beefcake was celebrating, Dr. Death Steve Williams came out with his manager Cowboy Bill Watts and attacked Beefcake, hitting him with the Oklahoma Stampede. Watts grabbed a microphone and said, “Is Dr. Death big enough for you, Beefcake? You’ve been running your mouth for weeks now asking for bigger competition and I just want to know if Dr. Death is big enough for you? For ten years, Dr. Death was the most dominating force in Japanese professional wrestling. For ten years, Dr. Death was undefeated in Japan. In two weeks, Dr. Death returns to Japan and will begin a new reign of domination. See you in Japan, Beefcake.”

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed some of the highlights in the feud between the Nasty Boys and the Destruction Crew including the ladder match two weeks ago on LCW Showdown in which both Brian Knobbs and Mike Enos grabbed a title each and fell to the mat at the same time. On the entrance stage, two crew members rolled the security box that the LCW World Tag Team Championships would be placed in during the upcoming locker box ladder match. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out with the LCW World Tag Team Championship title belts and they were placed in the security box and Bockwinkel locked the box. He handed the key to referee Danny Davis who ran the key to the ring where a technician was waiting. The technician signaled for the ring that the keys would be placed on to be lowered and the ring was lowered down to him. The technician placed the key on the ring and signaled for it to be raised above the ring for the locked box ladder match.
LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys defeated the Destruction Crew in 13:09 by decision in a locked box ladder match after Brian Knobbs secured the key from above the ring and, moments later, secured the title belt from the locked box on the entrance stage. After the match, as the Nasty Boys celebrated on the entrance stage, Kendo Nagasaki and the Great Kabuki appeared behind them and Kabuki spit his green mist in Knobbs eyes while Nagasaki hit Sags with his kendo stick. Mr. Fuji came out and joined his team on the entrance stage and surveyed the damage they had done before walking away with Kabuki and Nagasaki.
In the back, LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel was seen speaking with LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and the Yakuza Mafia (The Great Muta, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Kensuke Sasaki and their manager Genichiro Tenryu). He was showing them a clipboard and explaining something to all of them and they seemed to agree with whatever he was saying. Bockwinkel handed Magnum the clipboard which he started signing as the show went to commercial.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage from last week’s edition of LCW Showdown in which Ric Flair tried to get Paul Orndorff to give up his spot in the Heritage Contenders Tournament to him and when Orndorff refused, Flair and the rest of the Horsemen attacked Orndorff, giving Kevin Sullivan a victory over Orndorff in their semi-final tournament match.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Paul Orndorff about being kicked out of the Horsemen and Orndorff said he never really cared about being a Horseman and only cared about one thing: being the best in the business. Orndorff said Flair said giving up his spot in the tournament to Flair was supposed to be a test and Orndorff said Flair said he failed the test. Orndorff said as far as he was concerned he passed the test because he had never and would never lie down for anyone. Orndorff said Flair wanted him in the Horsemen because he needed an enforcer and Flair was going to find out first hand just how much of an enforcer he could be. Diamond Dallas Page and LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham approached Orndorff and asked him if he was ready to go and Orndorff said he was and the three men walked away as the show went to commercial.
In the back, LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel was seen leaving his office with the clipboard that he had the Disciples of Allah and Magnum TA and the Yakuza Mafia sign earlier in the evening. Bockwinkel made his way through the arena corridor as the show went to commercial.

LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that in two weeks, at the LCW Descent 2009 pay-per-view in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA would team with The Great Muta, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Kensuke Sasaki to take on the team of The Iron Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, Nikolai Volkoff, and Boris Zhukov in an ten-man elimination match. Bockwinkel said if anyone in the arena or at home was doing the math, they would realize that the teams were a little unbalanced and the Yakuza Mafia and Magnum TA had a man advantage, but General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie had assured him that they would have a fifth man by next week. Bockwinkel announced that next week there would be four matches featuring all the competitors in action in three singles matches and one tag team match. Bockwinkel said the match would be announced on LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com over the course of the next week. Dillon), Barry Windham, and Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) in 9:18 by pinfall when Orndorff pinned Flair after Page hit Flair with the Diamond Cutter. During the match, Kevin Sullivan came out and attacked Graham after he was thrown out of the ring by Barry Windham. Orndorff ran around the ring and chased Sullivan away until the referee saw him with Sullivan and told him to get back to his corner. The referee then told Sullivan to leave ringside and he eventually walked away as Graham got back into the ring to continue the match. After the match, Windham and Blanchard tried to attack Orndorff, but Page hit Windham with the Diamond Cutter as Don Muraco came out and brawled with Blanchard, chasing him out of the ring and up the entrance ramp.
