LCW Showdown Television Results 11.12.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.
Stan Hansen defeated Terry Funk in 5:38 by disqualification after LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich interfered and put the claw on Hansen. After the match, security officials came out and had to force Hansen to break the claw and dragged him out of the ring. During the match, Schiavone and Zbyszko talked about Hansen defeating Funk at the LCW Showdown at the Chase television special two weeks ago and earning the right to name the stipulation for his match with Von Erich at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on Sunday, November 30th: a locked box ladder match in which the title belt would be placed in a locked box on the entrance ramp and the key would be on a chain hanging from the rafters and the winner would be the first man to secure the key, make his way up the entrance ramp, and secure the title belt from the locked box. Schiavone and Zbyszko also discussed the possibility of Hansen’s manager, Lady Amazon, having to leave Legends Championship Wrestling forever if he lost the match.

In the back, Sir Oliver Humperdink told Don Muraco that he was worried about wrestling tonight saying that he wasn’t a wrestler and adding that Mr. Fuji was a five-time former WWF World Tag Team Champion and he has the Great Kabuki, Kendo Nagasaki, Killer Khan and the Powers of Pain backing him up. Muraco told Humperdink not to worry, reassuring him that he and Superstar Billy Graham would be there to watch his back.
The Destruction Crew defeated The Fantastics in 3:29 by pinfall when Mike Enos pinned Bobby Fulton after the Wrecking Ball. After the match, Wayne Bloom challenged Demolition to come to the ring, but Demolition didn’t come out. Bloom said he knew Demolition had a match next week so he guessed they would definitely see them then and promised to have a special surprise for them next week.

LCW Television Champion Brutus Beefcake and Wildfire Tommy Rich defeated Macho Man Randy Savage and Austin Idol in 6:17 by disqualification after The Genius Lanny Poffo interfered. At first, Beefcake and Rich were able to fend off Poffo, Savage, and Idol, but the numbers were too much and the three men triple teamed Beefcake and Rich. Feeling satisfied that they had done enough damage, Poffo, Savage, and Idol stopped their assault and left ringside together. As they walked up the entrance ramp they were stopped by LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel who appeared on the entrance stage. As Beefcake and Rich slowly made their way to their feet, Bockwinkel said that Beefcake and Rich said last week that they could take care of Poffo and clearly they couldn’t. Bockwinkel informed Poffo, Savage, and Idol that next week on LCW Showdown they would face the team of Beefcake, Rich, and a partner of their choice.

Tully Blanchard came out with Baby Doll and Ric Flair and said that Jack Brisco beat him last week because the Rock interfered. Blanchard said that he didn’t want to discredit the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, but added that the audience knows as much as he does that Blanchard would have never lost to Brisco it if wasn’t for the Rock’s interference. Blanchard said he didn’t want to wait until LCW Redemption Day on Sunday, November 30th and said he wasn’t going to wait because he was going to kick the Rock’s ass tonight! Jack Brisco came out and said he didn’t know about the validity of Blanchard’s statements, but he knew someone he wouldn’t mind beating tonight…Ric Flair! Brisco said Flair had been claiming to be the man for 40 years and while he might have a legitimate claim to the title he had never beaten Jack Brisco. Flair accepted the challenge and said tonight he would prove once and for all that he was the man. Brisco asked, “Why wait,” and started making his way down to the ring.

Ric Flair (with Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll) defeated Jack Brisco in 9:54 by submission with the figure four leglock. After the match, Baby Doll taunted Brisco and when he went to stand up and confront her, Blanchard knocked him down with a forearm smash and then hit him with the Rock Bottom before leaving the ring with Baby Doll and Flair.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Paul Roma about attacking his Young Stallions tag team partner, Jim Powers, last week and Roma said that he was going to show the world tonight that what he said last week was true: Powers had been holding him down, but he was going to put him down tonight.

Paul Roma wrestled Jim Powers to a no contest in 4:06 after Dr. Death Steve Williams came out with his manager Cowboy Bill Watts and destroyed both men before calling out Nikita Koloff. Koloff came out and brawled with Williams as security officials came out and tried to separate the two men.
In the back, Sean Mooney stood between Strike Force and the Hart Foundation. Rick Martel said they were going to beat the Hart Foundation just like they did twenty years ago and then they were going to go on and beat the Midnight Express for the LCW World Tag Team Championships at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on Sunday, November 30th. Bret Hart said that wasn’t going to happen because he had a feeling one of them was going to suffer a Hart Attack tonight. Martel said that wouldn’t happen if he made Jim Neidhart submit to the Boston Crab like he did twenty years ago. Neidhart laughed and then got in Martel’s face and said, “Not gonna happen.” Hart and Neidhart walked away.

Sir Oliver Humperdink (with Don Muraco and Superstar Billy Graham) and Mr. Fuji (with Great Kabuki, Killer Khan, Kendo Nagasaki and the Powers of Pain) wrestled to a no contest in 1:38 after Muraco, Graham, Kabuki, Khan, Nagasaki, and the Powers of Pain started brawling outside the ring. After the match, the brawl moved into the ring where the number’s of Fuji’s crew were too much for Muraco and Graham. As the Powers of Pain held Humperdink, Fuji taunted him, laughing as Kabuki, Khan, and Nagasaki attacked Muraco and Graham. Greg Valentine came out to help Muraco and Graham, but the Powers of Pain released Humperdink and joined in attacking Muraco, Graham, and now Valentine. Humperdink tried to get out of the ring, but Fuji stopped him. Humpderink blasted Fuji with a strong right hand and Fuji fell to the mat. Humperdink left the ring and ran up the entrance ramp to the back. He returned seconds later with the Wild Samoans in two who joined the battle and helped Muraco, Graham, and Valentine clear the ring of Kabuki, Khan, Nagasaki, the Powers of Pain, and Fuji. Humperdink stood in the ring with Muraco, Graham, Valentine, and the Wild Samoans.

Strike Force defeated the Hart Foundation in 9:10 by pinfall when Santana pinned Neidhart after the flying forearm smash. After the match, Bret Hart shook Martel and Santana’s hands, but a frustrated Neidhart didn’t seem to want to shake. Just as he was about to shake Martel’s hand, the LCW World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express, Dennis Condrey, and Randy Rose came out and attacked Strike Force and the Hart Foundation, laying all four men out before leaving the ring.
In the back, Dr. Death Steve Williams and Cowboy Bill Watts attacked Nikita Koloff as security officials appeared and pulled Williams and Watts away. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel appeared as Koloff made his way to this feet. Koloff said he wanted a match next week with Watts and Williams even if it was a handicap match. Bockiwnkel said he couldn’t do that because next week Nikita Koloff had a match with Butch Reed. Bockwinkel walked away.

Tully Blanchard came out and reiterated his challenge to the Rock for a match tonight. The Rock’s music began to play and Ric Flair came out wearing a Rock mask. When Flair got into the ring he mocked the Rock, climbing the ropes and posing with one arm in the air. Blanchard and “the Rock” locked up and Blanchard applied a headlock. “The Rock” threw Blanchard off the ropes and hit Blanchard with a clothesline and Blanchard went down in the center of the ring. Flair continued mocking the Rock and went to hit Blanchard with the Rock Bottom, but Flair tripped and landed on his face after bouncing off the ropes. Blanchard then pinned “Rock” and celebrated with Baby Doll. Flair took off the Rock mask and joined the celebration. Flair dropped a few elbows and knees on the Rock mask as Baby Doll and Blanchard laughed. Blanchard grabbed a microphone and said what just happened was exactly what was going to happen to the Rock at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on November 30th when he kicks the Rock’s ass. The Rock’s music played and the real Rock came running down the entrance ramp and made quick work of Flair and Blanchard, hitting Blanchard with the Rock Bottom and hitting Flair with a spinebuster before hitting him with the People’s Elbow. Rock celebrated as Flair and Blanchard retreated up the entrance ramp with Baby Doll.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express, Dennis Condrey, and Randy Rose. Condrey said the Midnight Express were going to do to Strike Force at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on Sunday, November 30th, exactly what they did tonight…lay them out!

LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and LCW International Champion Big Van Vader defeated Manny Fernandez and Butch Reed (with Slick) in 9:32 by disqualification after One Man Gang came out with Harley Race and attacked Big Van Vader. After the match, Race and Gang double teamed Vader while Fernandez and Reed double teamed Fernandez outside the ring. Nikita Koloff came out with a steel chair and cleared the Fernandez, Reed, Gang, and Race out of the ring and helped Magnum and Vader to their feet as the show went off the air.
