LCW Showdown Television Results 10.08.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.
Greg The Hammer Valentine wrestled LCW International Champion Butch Reed (with Slick) to a no contest in 4:12. During the match, Big Van Vader came out and came down to ringside and started stalking Slick around the ring. Slick started making his way up the entrance ramp and Vader started running after him, chasing him up the entrance ramp. Slick tripped as he arrived at the top of the entrance ramp and Vader grabbed him. Vader moved Slick towards the edge of the entrance stage and acted like he was going to push Slick off of the entrance stage to the concrete floor below. Slick squirmed and struggled to no avail to break free from Vader’s grasp and begged Vader to let him go. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out with Sean Mooney and tried to convince Vader to release Slick, but Vader refused. By this point, Reed had left the ring and his match with Valentine was effectively over due to the distraction. Reed made his way up the entrance ramp, but Vader threatened to throw Slick from the entrance ramp. Reed backed off and Bockwinkel asked Vader what he wanted and Vader said he wanted his shot at the LCW International Championship, the shot at the LCW International Championship that he earned in the Survival Project and he wanted it tonight! Bockwinkel said he couldn’t have it tonight. Vader put Slick in position for the powerbomb and threatened to powerbomb him off the entrance stage and down to the concrete floor below. Bockwinkel stopped him and told Vader he could have the match next week on LCW Showdown. Vader thanked Bockwinkel and then powerbombed Slick to the floor and through a table that was sitting on the floor beside the entrance stage. Vader walked away as Reed raced to check on Slick and medical officials came out to check on Slick as well as the show went to commercial.

After Slick was loaded onto the ambulance and the ambulance drove away, an irate LCW International Champion Butch Reed demanded that LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel revoke Vader’s title shot and suggested that Vader should never get a shot at the LCW International Championship. Bockwinkel said he understood why Reed was upset and he didn’t agreed with Vader’s method, but he would deny him his motive and the match for the LCW International Championship between champion Butch Reed and challenger Big Van Vader would happen next week on LCW Showdown. Bockwinkel said he understood how Reed and was going to give Reed a concession and let Reed select Big Van Vader’s opponent for tonight. Reed said it wasn’t anything compared to losing his manager, but he would take it. Reed stormed away.

Poffo said Bockwinkel couldn’t do that and Bockwinkel said he could. Poffo said Garvin cost his brother Randy Savage his match in the Survival Project and just punched him in the face for no reason. Bockwinkel said, “For no reason? For no reason!?! Who are you trying to kid, Poffo? You broke his hand, you cheated him out of the LCW Television Championship. Let’s be honest, you stole it from him and I’m going to give him a fair chance to win it back.” Bockwinkel walked away and Poffo threw his ice pack across the locker room.

Amazon said she just wanted to talk to Von Erich. Kevin Von Erich finally came out and approached the broadcast booth and said he didn’t know what was going and he didn’t really care, but it seemed to him that Lady Amazon and Stan Hansen had some personal problems. He said he tried to protect her from Stan Hansen, he tried to warn her about Stan Hansen, but she didn’t want to listen to him so he didn’t care and wanted nothing to do with their personal problems. Von Erich said she turned her back on him and, as much as it pained him to see her beaten up with a black eye, he had to turn his back on her. When Von Erich turned around to walk away, Hansen came out of nowhere and blasted him with a steel chair. Hansen attacked Von Erich on the floor around the broadcast booth and Lady Amazon kicked at Von Erich in between wiping off the bruise, which was actually makeup, from her face. Hansen handcuffed Von Erich’s hand behind his back and put his bullrope around his neck and dragged him to ringside. Hansen threw Von Erich into the ring and then threw him over the top rope and Hansen and Amazon pulled on the rope as Von Erich hanged, being choked out as security officials ran into the ring and chased Hansen and Amazon away.
