LCW Showdown Television Results (September 3, 2008) live from the Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Tonight’s episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated in loving memory to Walter “Killer” Kowalski (1926-2008).

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to a special three-hour edition of LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.

LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and explained the rules of the mini-gauntlet matches noting that each match would have a ten-minute time limit starting with two contenders. Once one contender is eliminated, another contender will come out to face the winner until all four men have competed. Any match going to a time limit would eliminate both men.

Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) defeated Greg The Hammer Valentine in 6:08 by pinfall after the slingshot suplex in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW United States Championship.

Jake The Snake Roberts and Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) wrestled to a double countout in 3:04 after they brawled out of the ring, up the entrance way, and to the back in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW United States Championship.

In the ring, ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta introduced the winner of the mini-gauntlet to determine the number one contender for the LCW United States Championship by default and the new number one contender for the LCW United States Championship: The Iron Sheik. The Iron Sheik came out with his managers General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie. Akbar said Sheik was on a role in Legends Championship Wrestling, leading the Disciples of Allah to victory at LCW Caged Heat, winning the mini-gauntlet tonight, and Akbar promised that Sheik would go on to win the LCW United States Championship from Manny Fernandez next week on LCW Showdown. Akbar said that Sheik, like always, had provided an example for the rest of the Disciples of Allah who would go on to win the mini-gauntlet matches they are involved in throughout the evening. Sheik left with Akbar and Al-Kassie.

Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) defeated Brutus Beefcake in 5:10 by pinfall after the Tree of Woe and the double stomp in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Television Championship.

Billy Jack Haynes defeated Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) in 4:41 by disqualification after Ken Patera interfered and attacked Haynes, putting him in the swinging full nelson and refusing to release the hold until Haynes was unconscious in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Television Championship.

Macho Man Randy Savage (with The Genius Lanny Poffo) defeated Billy Jack Haynes in 0:36 by pinfall after the flying elbow smash in a mini-gauntlet match to become the number one contender for the LCW Television Championship. After the match, Savage grabbed a microphone and told LCW Television Champion Ron Garvin that his victory at LCW Caged Heat was a mistake and a fluke that would never happen. Savage said he was going to beat Garvin and take back the title next week on LCW Showdown.

The Fantastics defeated The Rougeau Brothers (with Jimmy Hart) in 4:12 by pinfall when Tommy Rogers pinned Raymond Rougeau with a small package rollup in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships.

The Powers of Pain defeated The Fantastics in 6:04 by pinfall when the Barbarian pinned Bobby Fulton after a running big boot in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships.

The Bolsheviks (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie and General Skandor Akbar) defeated the Powers of Pain in 3:48 in a mini-gauntlet match to become the number one contender for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships by pinfall when Nikolai Volkoff pinned the Barbarian after Al-Kassie broke his flagpole over the Barbarian’s back as the Barbarian had Volkoff pinned after a diving headbutt. Al-Kassie rolled Volkoff on top of the Barbarian and got out of the ring as the referee, who had been distracted by the Warlord chasing Skandor Akbar around the ring and eventually being attacked by Boris Zhukov outside the ring, turned around and made the pinfall count.

Terry Funk defeated Abdullah the Butcher (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 5:44 by pinfall after the hangman’s neckbreaker after knocking Akbar and Al-Kassie off the ring apron in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Heritage Championship.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated Butch Reed (with Slick) in 8:12 by pinfall after the Diamond Cutter in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW International Championship. After the match, Reed attacked Page and Paul Orndorff, the next participant in the mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW International Championship, came out and joined Reed in attacking Page until security officials came out and pulled Reed out of the ring as the show went to commercial.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated Paul Orndorff in 3:12 by pinfall after the Diamond Cutter in a mini-gauntlet match to become the number one contender for the LCW International Championship. During the match, LCW International Champion Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin came out with his valet Precious to watch the match from the entrance ramp. After the match, Garvin was visibly upset that Page had won the match and started to make his way down the entrance ramp, but Precious held him back and they walked away and to the back.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeated the Hart Foundation in 7:32 by disqualification in a mini-gauntlet match to become the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships after LCW World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express interfered and attacked Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson right in front of the referee. The Hart Foundation double clotheslined Eaton over the top rope and hit Lane with the Hart Attack before helping the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express to their feet.

Superstar Billy Graham defeated Dr. Death Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) in 8:23 by countout in a mini-gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship after Graham moved out of the way of a charging Williams who had been thrown into the steel ring steps only moments earlier by Williams. Williams was knocked out and Graham rolled into the ring before the ten count.

Nikita Koloff defeated Superstar Billy Graham in 2:21 by pinfall after the Russian Sickle clothesline in a mini-gauntlet match to become the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship. After the match, Koloff continued attacking Graham, but LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA came out and hit Koloff with the belly-to-belly suplex and Koloff rolled out of the ring and made his way up the entrance ramp. Graham picked up the LCW Universal Championship that Magnum slid into the ring before he attacked Koloff and looked at it for a moment. Magnum turned around and saw Graham holding and looking at the title. Magnum and Graham stared at each other for a moment before Graham handed Magnum the title and then left the ring as the show went off the air.
