LCW Showdown Television Results 08.20.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.
LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that tonight LCW International Champion Paul Orndorff would face Diamond Dallas Page in a non-title match and the winner of the match would be released last from his chamber and the loser would be released first from his chamber in the Elimination Chamber match at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view this Sunday. Bockwinkel went on to announce that in a rematch from last week, LCW World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express would defend their titles against the Killer Bees in a no disqualification, no countout match tonight. Dennis Condrey came out and complained about the announcement and Bockwinkel said, “Well then you’re really not going to like this because tonight, you will be barred from ringside and if you interfere the titles will immediately be handed over to the Killer Bees.” Bockwinkel walked away as Condrey followed after him trying to argue the decision.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the Killer Bees about LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel’s announcement that they would get another title shot. Brian Blair said, “You know what, Mooney, they say everyone deserves a second chance. Well, last week we got our second chance and we got screwed twice, but tonight the third times the charm.”
In the back, Dennis Condrey tried to accompany LCW World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express, but LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel approached them and told Condrey that he was still barred from ringside. Condrey got in Bockwinkel’s face and told him he was going to ringside with Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane and there wasn’t anything Bockwinkel could do to stop him. Bockwinkel smiled and looked away and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express approached and Bockwinkel said, “I might not be able to stop you, but I’m pretty sure they can (pointing to Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson).” Condrey backed off and Eaton and Lane walked forward and stood face to face with Morton and Gibson who moved aside and let Eaton and Lane pass as the show went to commercial.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express about the announcement before the commercial break that they would get a shot at the LCW World Tag Team Championship at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view when they face longtime rivals the Midnight Express in a steel cage match. Ricky Morton said, “Twenty-five years ago, this thing started between the Midnight Express and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. We’ve done scaffold matches, we’ve gone one-on-one, we’ve gone two-on-two, we’ve brought partners in for six-man tag team matches, and we’ve even done steel cage matches before. Man oh man, have we done a lot of steel cage matches in the past twenty-five years, but this Sunday night at LCW Caged Heat, it means so much more because it’s for the LCW World Tag Team Championships. We’ve been there before and this Sunday night we’re going to be the LCW World Tag Team Champions again. Twenty-five years ago this thing started and this Sunday night it’s going to end in the birthplace of civilization.” The Midnight Express burst into the interview and blasted Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson with steel chairs, laying them out before Dennis Condrey leaned down and said to Morton and Gibson, “Twenty five years ago, this thing started and this Sunday night we’re going to end it.”
