LCW Showdown Television Results 07.23.08

LCW Showdown Television Results (07.23.08) live the Sun Dome in Tampa, FL.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko discussed the main event: a 60-minute Iron Man match between LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and former champion Stone Cold Steve Austin. Schiavone noted that both men will be involved in the main event at LCW Beach Brawl this Sunday when Magnum puts his title on the line against Austin and former champion Nikita Koloff. Zbyszko said, “You know, the intensity that Magnum and Austin have put into their previous two matches going to 30 and 45 minute time limit draws and the intensity they’re sure to put into their 60-minute Iron Man match here tonight puts Nikita Koloff at a distinct advantage going into LCW Beach Brawl this Sunday and we could be calling Nikita Koloff the LCW Universal Champion again for a record eighth time.”

The Midnight Express defeated The Young Stallions in 2:46 by pinfall when Bobby Eaton pinned Jim Powers after the Rocket Launcher. Before the match, footage was shown of the Midnight Express, disguised as security guards, attacking the Skyscrapers last week on LCW Showdown and knocking them out with lead pipes before Bobby Eaton hit Dan Spivey with the Alabama Jam through a table. After the match, LCW World Tag Team Champions the Skyscrapers came out and attacked the Midnight Express, laying both of them out with powerbombs. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone noted, “There’s no questioning the fact that they are perhaps the most dominant tag team ever in Legends Championship Wrestling and they are certainly made that clear tonight, but as Dan Spivey and Sid Vicious walk away you can tell that Spivey is still feeling the effects of that Alabama Jam through that table last week courtesy of Bobby Eaton.” Zbyszko said they guaranteed that they were going to win the LCW World Tag Team Championships at the LCW Beach Brawl pay-per-view this Sunday and they had an insurance policy to guarantee their victory.

In the back, LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA was shown arriving at the arena for his 60-minute Iron Man match with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

LCW International Champion Paul Orndorff defeated Big Vader Vader (with Harley Race), Dr. Death Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bob Orton), and Diamond Dallas Page in 6:14 in a fatal fourway match by pinfall when Orndorff pinned Vader after Page hit Vader with a Diamond Cutter. Seconds later, as Orndorff covered Vader for the pinfall and the win, Williams blasted Page with the three-point stance shoulder block, sending Page out of the ring. After the match, Orndorff stood victorious across the ring from Williams who was focused on Orndorff. Orndorff thought better of staying in the ring with Williams and quickly exited and made his way up the entrance ramp as Vader lay helpless in the ring. Williams turned his attention to Vader and leaned down to pick him up, but Page crawled back into the ring and hit Williams with the Diamond Cutter and then left the ring, leaving both Williams and Vader laying in the ring. Harley Race and Cowboy Bill Watts got into the ring to help their respective charges to their feet as LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that Vader and Williams’ match at LCW Beach Brawl would be a last man standing match! As Race and Watts got Vader and Williams to their feet, the two men started brawling with each other as Race and Watts argued and tried to keep the two monsters apart.

In the back, Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown arriving at the arena for his 60-minute Iron Man match with LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA.
