LCW Showdown Television Results 07.16.08
In the back, LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and Stone Cold Steve Austin were shown on split screen arriving at the arena earlier in the day.
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone reminded everyone that tonight’s rematch would have a 45-minute time limit because 30 minutes was not enough for them last week.
In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was sitting at his desk and stood up as the camera zoomed out. Calaway extended his hand and the camera continued zooming out to show that Calaway was extending his hand to Jesse Ventura, who announced Monday night on “Larry King Live” that he wasn’t going to run for the U.S. Senate. Calaway said he was disappointed that Ventura wasn’t going to run, but was proud of Ventura and glad that he was going to remain a feature legend in Legends Championship Wrestling. Ventura thanked Calaway and walked out of Calaway’s office.
LCW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers defeated The Sheepherders in 1:18 by pinfall when Sid Vicious pinned Butch Miller after a powerbomb. After the match, the Midnight Express dressed as security guards jumped over the security guard rail and hit Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey with lead pipes. Dennis Condrey brought a table into the ring and placed Spivey on the table. Bobby Eaton climbed to the top rope and hit the Alabama Jam on Spivey though the table. Security officials ran into the ring and escorted Condrey and Eaton from ringside as medical officials ran into the ring to check on Vicious and Spivey. Vicious began to regain his senses and started attacking some of the medical officials. Vicious then went to check on the fallen Spivey and helped Spivey to his feet.

The Honky Tonk Man defeated George The Animal Steele in 3:18 by pinfall after the Shake, Rattle, and Roll. After the match, Honky Tonk went to hit Steele with the Shake, Rattle, and Roll again, but, just like last week, Greg Valentine came out and told Honky Tonk to drop Steele. Honky Tonk dropped Steele, but told Valentine as he walked away, “You made your choice, Hammer.” Valentine went to check on Steele, and Honky Tonk Man grabbed his guitar. When Valentine turned around to see Honky Tonk and Hart leaving the ring, Honky Tonk was behind him and blasted Valentine with guitar, knocking Valentine out cold before leaving the ring with Hart.
In the back, Lady Amazon was talking to LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich when LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express approached them and asked Von Erich if they could speak with Amazon in private. Von Erich walked away to give them a moment alone together. Morton said Amazon and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express had been together a lot, but they still cared about her and they were willing to give her another chance if she would have them. Amazon said she was sorry about what had happened in the past between them and she didn’t know where her head was at, but if they’d have her back she’d be focused on helping them be the best LCW United States Tag Team Champions ever. They said that sounded great and hugged Amazon and walked away with her.

In the back, General Skandor Akbar was shown placing a burqa over an unconscious Lady Amazon’s head, covering her body and her face as The Bolsheviks held her in place and as Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie looked on. They all laughed as Akbar continued putting the burqa on Amazon. Akbar looked into the camera and said, “This is how all of you American women should dress. This woman was dirty, she was unpure, she was filthy, but we’ve covered her indignity. We’ve cleansed her and she is pure again. You stupid American women all want to be like Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan. You look up to them as your idols and your icons, but like all Americans they have fallen and you too will fall unless you change your ways, unless you embrace a new path. You can be cleansed and be made pure again as this woman has been made pure. Try to impose your American will if you must, but know that ours is superior.” LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich appeared with steel chairs and chased the Bolsheviks, Al-Kassie, and Adnan away before checking on the fallen Lady Amazon and calling for medical officials. Morton and Gibson reminded Von Erich that his match was up next and they would take care of Amazon.
LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich defeated Abdullah the Butcher (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 0:53 by submission with the claw. After the match, an incensed Von Erich refused to release the claw and the referee warned him he was going to reverse the decision, but Hollywood John Tatum came out with Missy Hyatt and attacked Von Erich. Von Erich released the claw hold and hit Tatum with a discus punch and locked the claw hold on Tatum. Security officials came out and pulled Von Erich off of Tatum and removed him from the ring as Missy Hyatt helped Von Erich out of the ring and to the back. As Hyatt was helping Tatum to the back, LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and said, “Akbar, you knew the deal going into this match. You wanted a title shot for Abdullah and he lost the match. And you knew that if he lost the match, you’d have to let a member of the Disciple of Alllah go. The person you select to leave the Disciple of Allah can never team with you guys again. And especially after what happened back there earlier with Lady Amazon, you have to select a member of the Disciples of Allah to leave the group.” Akbar said he needed some time to make a decision and Bockwinkel said he would expect an answer before the main event.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed The Midnight Express about attacking LCW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers and Condrey said they were going into LCW Beach Brawl in two week without the titles, but they were walking out as the new LCW World Tag Team Champions. Mooney said Condrey sounded pretty confident and Eaton asked why they shouldn’t be. Eaton said they just laid the charges and at LCW Beach Brawl in two week, they were going to bring down the Skyscrapers. Condrey said he wasn’t just confident, he could guarantee that they would be walking out with the title because they had an insurance policy that was going to guarantee their victory. Mooney asked what their insurance policy was and they just walked away.

Outlaw Ron Bass (with Tully Blanchard, James J. Dillon, and Baby Doll) defeated Koko B. Ware in 3:56 by pinfall after the Texas Gourdbuster. After the match, Bass continued attacking Ware until LCW United States Champion Manny Fernandez came out and hit Bass with the Flying Burrito. James J. Dillon tried to hit Fernandez with his shoe, but Dillon missed and an enraged Fernandez chased Dillon out of the ring, over the security guard rail, through the crowd and to the back.
Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll got into the ring and made some jokes about LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway and mocked the Chairman about her lifetime contract and Blanchard’s attack on Calaway last week. Calaway came out and said, “Wait, a minute. You can make all the jokes you want, but Tully, Baby Doll, what you did to me last week was unacceptable, but really when I think about it, I think it was unavoidable. Well, I guess it could have been avoided if you weren’t such a manipulative bitch in the first place, Baby Doll! But since you are, and since you got yourself a lifetime contract I have no choice but to attempt to challenge that lifetime contract. I’ve been on the phone and in closed-door meetings all week with lawyers and the LCW Board of Directors and the only conclusion that I could come to, the conclusion that we’ve all come to is one that I think is also unavoidable. I need to challenge you to a match and I need you to agree to put your lifetime contract on the line. So, I’ll start with the most obvious match: Tully Blanchard, how about you and me go one-on-one?” Blanchard laughed and said the match wasn’t worth his time or his effort. Calaway said, “Tully, I am the Chairman of the Board and I can make a title match that would be very beneficial for you. Maybe even a title match to get back your LCW United States Championship? How about this? I’ll go you one better. I will guarantee you that if you win the match at LCW Beach Brawl, Baby Doll can not only keep her lifetime contract, but you’ll get a shot at the LCW Universal Championship on the LCW Showdown immediately following the LCW Beach Brawl pay-per-view. How about that, Tully? Is it worth your time now?” Blanchard seemed happy and was going to answer, but Calaway interrupted and said, “But wait, if I win, you don’t get the title shot and Baby Doll’s lifetime contract will be null and void. Hell, you know what, let’s make this Christmas in July for you, Tully. I’ll even make it a handicap match because Baby Doll should have an opportunity to defend herself since she has such a vested interest in this match. And, hell, I deserve an opportunity to kick the bitch’s ass!” The audience exploded, interrupting Calaway and when the audience settled down Calaway continued, “I mean, she did try to shoot me after all. So, how about it, Tully? Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll against me, two-on-one, how about that? Is it worth your time now?” Blanchard looked at Baby Doll and the two agreed to the match. Calaway smiled and said, “Oh, I did forget to mention one thing didn’t I? I always do that. I always leave something out, don’t I? I always forget to mention something. It’s a flaw I have. I don’t have many, but that’s one of them, always forgetting to mention something…especially when it benefits me. I forgot to mention that it’s not going to be just a handicap match so much in that I’ll have a partner and it’ll be a tag team match.” Blanchard and Baby Doll laughed and Baby Doll asked who would want to be Calaway’s partner saying that while he was Chairman of the Board last year and with the Entourage he alienated himself from almost every legend in the locker room. Calaway laughed and said, “That might be true, but I earned a lot of respect recently by earning the respect of Stone Cold Steve Austin and there’s someone who still hasn’t forgotten what happened last year at LCW SuperClash. Do you remember that, Tully? You remember the old days, the Entourage, you and Baby Doll in my corner. Doing whatever it took to help me win, to keep me in power and on top because if benefited you. Do you remember helping me win a specific, significantly important match at LCW SuperClash last year? You helped me win, but you cost someone some embarrassment because he lost to me.” Blanchard started shaking his head realizing who Calaway was talking about as Calaway said, “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my tag team partner at LCW Beach Brawl…The Rock!” The Rock came out and joined Calaway on the entrance stage. Rock said he didn’t give a damn about Baby Doll having a lifetime contract and he didn’t even really care about her shooting Calaway last year. Rock said the only thing he cared about was kicking Blanchard’s “roody poo, candy ass!” Rock and Calaway turned and walked to the back as Blanchard and Baby Doll reacted in the ring.

In the back, LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel approached General Skandor Akbar and said he wanted to know who would be selected to leave the Disciples of Allah and Akbar said he had chosen Kamala. Kamala and Kimchee appeared and Kimchee said Kamala didn’t want to leave the Disciples of Alllah. Akbar said Kamala had no choice and he was out of the group. Kamala hollered and Akbar slapped Kamala and told him to leave. Kamala yelled again and chased after Akbar, but the Bolsheviks, with their manager Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie appeared and double teamed Kamala, punching and kicking him to the ground before leaving with Akbar and Sheik.
LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA wrestled Stone Cold Steve Austin to a 45-minute time limit draw. After the match, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, “Forget what we saw last week. If that was the match of year, this may have been the match of the new century! I can’t believe what we’ve just seen. These two brought everything they had to this ring, they gave each other everything they had, and they left everything they had in the center of that ring. But you’ve got to ask yourself: have the last two matches between Austin and Magnum, with the amount of intensity they’ve brought to each other, has it weakened them. Could we see Nikita Koloff, who hasn’t had to wrestle two insanely intense matches in as many weeks, could we see the ‘Russian Nightmare’ as an eight-time Universal Champion at LCW Beach Brawl in two weeks?”
