LCW Showdown Television Results 07.09.08

LCW Showdown Television Results (07.09.08) live from the Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, WA.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.

One Man Gang defeated Sam Houston in 1:47 by pinfall after the 747 Splash.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was on the phone in his office and said he wanted the red carpet treatment for Baby Doll. Calaway asked the person on the phone if the limousine had picked her up. Calaway said that when her plane lands he wants the limousine to pick her up and bring her to the arena as soon as possible. Calaway thanked the person on the phone and hung up. Someone banged on Calaway’s office door and Calaway told the person to come in and it was Stone Cold Steve Austin. The two men stared at each other for a moment and Calaway looked tense before Austin extended his hand for a handshake and told Calaway to calm down. Austin told Calaway he wanted Magnum TA in the ring one on one tonight. Austin said he didn’t care if he the title was on the line or not, but he wanted to kick Magnum TA’s ass. Calaway said he was sure Magnum hitting him with a steel chair last week was an accident and said, “And as for the disqualification, well, I think we both know that you brought that one on yourself.” Austin said, “I don’t give a damn if it was an accident (the audience started chanting ‘What?’), a mistake (What?), a mishap (What?), an error in judgment (What?), an inaccuracy (What?), a slip (What?), a blunder (What?), a faux pas (What?). The jack ass screwed up! (What?).” LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA suddenly appeared and he and Austin started arguing and Calaway separated them and said, “Not here! Not now! I don’t have time for this crap tonight! But tonight you guys had better make some time because you’re going to stop bitching at each other and settle it like men. Tonight, you’re going out there in that ring and you’re facing each other one-on-one and you’re going to settle it in the center of the ring.”

The Midnight Express defeated The Killer Bees in 5:36 by pinfall when Bobby Eaton pinned Brian Blair after the Alabama Jam. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone noted that the Midnight Express were on a roll and if anyone could be a legitimate threat to LCW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers’ title reign, it could be the Midnight Express.

In the back, a limousine arrived and Baby Doll stepped out and was met by Tully Blanchard, who was on crutches after his street fight match with LCW United States Champion Manny Fernandez at LCW SuperClash two weeks ago. Baby Doll hugged Blanchard and he escorted her through the arena corridor as, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, “Boy, oh boy, there she is. The one and the only, the Perfect 10, Baby Doll, and I don’t think she knows that LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway knows that she shot him. I don’t think she knows that he knows it was her gun. But the fact of the matter is that he does know and the only question that remains now is what is he going to do? Stay tuned as we’ll have the answer to that question right after this. Don’t you go anywhere!”

In the ring, the “Doll House” interview segment set had been setup in the ring and a red carpet lined the entrance ramp. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was in the ring and introduced Baby Doll as Family Force 5 performed Baby Doll’s theme song, “Luv Addict,” live as she made her way down to the ring with Tully Blanchard, who was on crutches. Baby Doll and Blanchard got into the ring and Baby Doll gave Calaway a hug, but Calaway seemed hesitant to hug her and quickly broke the embrace. Calaway welcomed Baby Doll back after her shoulder injury at LCW Uprising two months ago and asked her how she was doing. Baby Doll said she was doing great and said it was great to be back. Baby Doll asked Calaway how he was doing and he told Baby Doll that he was feeling better than ever since being shot by the Iron Sheik last year. Calaway said he was doing even better now that the bullet that was lodged near his heart had been removed from his chest by doctors after LCW SuperClash. Calaway said he wanted to show Baby Doll some special footage which played on the LegendsTron. The footage showed Calaway in his hospital bed two weeks ago being told that the bullet was from a gun registered to Nickla Roberts Smith, known professionally as Baby Doll. After the footage stopped playing on the LegendsTron, Baby Doll tried to explain, but Calaway said, “You know what, Nickla. I don’t want to hear it. After all I’ve done for you over the past several years. I put you back in the spotlight. I made you a legend again.” Baby Doll grabbed the microphone from Calaway and said, “Wait a minute, you made me a legend? Let’s get something straight right now. I made myself a legend. And if anyone besides me could take credit for having a role, for playing a part in making me a legend, it isn’t you. It would be Tully Blanchard or it would be Ric Flair or it would be Dusty Rhodes, but it most certainly wouldn’t be you. But I’ll admit, I’ll be honest and say that you gave me a second chance. You put me in the spotlight again, but you didn’t make me a legend. I have always been, and I will always be the Perfect 10. As a matter of fact, I was the Perfect 10 while you were still playing with action figures and dreaming of doing this thing we do.” Calaway grabbed the microphone from Baby Doll and said, “But now that I do this thing we do, let me remind you of something. You’d be smart to remember who’s ring your in. You’d be smart to remember who you work for. You’d be smart to remember who signs your paychecks. You know, the police asked me if I wanted to press charges, but I said I would take care of it because I knew that I could hurt you more than they could. You shot me and now I want to shoot you where it hurts. I want to hurt you as you hurt me. And when I hurt you, I want it to be in a way that will keep on hurting you. Nickla, effective immediately…you’re fired!” As the audience exploded, Baby Doll looked and grabbed the microphone from Calaway and said, “Excuse me! You’re firing me? You’re firing me! Let me remind you what happened when you released me two years ago. The ratings dropped and you begged me to come back. You begged me to come back to LCW and I did because we were friends and I cared about you and I knew that your releasing me wasn’t personal. And when I came back last year, not only did the ratings get better, but you booked yourself with the Perfect 10 because you knew with me by your side, you would be main event. You would be just like Tully Blanchard, just like Ric Flair, just like Dusty Rhodes… main event! They were great, but with me by their side, I made them main event. But you, no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you will never be main event. You’re just a lost little man with a laptop, this little company, and some power, but no matter how hard you try to distance yourself from them, you’ll always be just like all of these people…a loser, dreaming of greatness, but always falling short. As for shooting you…yeah, I shot you! I shot you because you failed me. You let me down. When I came back to LCW last year you promised me movie roles and spots on television. But more than anything else, you promised me what Jim Crockett, Jr., kept from me, you promised me a spread in Playboy. And then when it was about to happen, when Hugh Heffner offered me the spread in Playboy, you’re ego stopped it from happening. You said you were protecting me, but you weren’t protecting me. You were using me so you could stroke your ego by challenging Hugh Heffner. I made you main event and you used that to get in a league Hugh Heffner, but like always, you didn’t measure up. Hell, you didn’t even get a match with Hugh Heffner because he outmaneuvered you. You got your ass kicked by The Rock and if it wasn’t for Tully Blanchard you would have never beaten him.” Calaway grabbed the microphone from Baby Doll and said, “You know what, Nickla, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you say. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of the drama, I’m sick of the lies, and quite frankly, Nickla, I’m sick of you. And you’re still fired. So if you wouldn’t mind getting out of my ring, I’d like to get on with the rest of the show.” Baby Doll grabbed the microphone from Calaway and said, “Well, I’m not going anywhere and I’ll tell you why.” Calaway asked for security to come out and escort her out of the ring. Baby Doll said, “You can get security to escort me out of here tonight, but I’ll just be back next week. And you can have security escort me out again next week, but I’ll just be back the week after that. Because while you can have me escorted out of the arena, you can’t fire me! Because before Ole Anderson left Legends Championship Wrestling, I spoke with Ole Anderson because I’m not stupid. I knew you’d figure it out sooner or later that it was me that shot you and I knew you’d try to fire me. So I spoke with Ole Anderson before he resigned as LCW General Manager and he renewed my contract, but because he, unlike you, knows and respects my value and contributions to this business, granted me a final request before he left. Not only did Ole Anderson renewed my contract, he granted me a lifetime contract!” As the audience responded, Calaway looked mad, and got in Baby Doll’s face and said, “Over my dead my body.” Baby Doll got in Calaway’s face even more and said, “Get me a gun and I’d be willing to try again.” Calaway said, “You know what, I’m done. Forget about firing you since apparently I can’t, but you know what I can do? How about I just call the police and tell them I’ve changed my mind about pressing charges? And while I’ve got them on the phone, I can tell them about you threatening to shoot me again?” Baby Doll said, “How about this…” Tully Blanchard, who Calaway had forgotten was in the ring with them, raised his crutch and blasted Calaway across the back with the crutch. With Calaway on the mat writhing in pain, Blanchard raised the crutch and brought it down across Calaway’s back again, breaking the crutch in half. As Baby Doll kicked at the fallen Calaway, Blanchard hobbled around the ring destroying the “Doll House” set with his remaining crutch. Security officials ran into the ring and escorted Blanchard and Baby Doll from ringside as medical officials ran in to check on Calaway.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed what just happened between LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway and Baby Doll and footage was shown of Calaway being helped out of the ring by medical officials. Schiavone said, “Well, at least the Chairman of the Board is walking out of here and I think that’s a testament to his heart because let’s not forget that it was only three weeks ago that he had major surgery to remove the bullet from his chest, the bullet that couldn’t be removed last year when, as it turns out, he was shot by Baby Doll. The bullet that was removed three weeks ago that eventually implicated Baby Doll in the shooting. We thought she was a hostage with Calaway when the Iron Sheik held them captive at gunpoint last year, we thought she was so heroic in trying to save them by wrestling the Iron Sheik’s gun away from him, but it turns out that she had a gun hidden on her the whole time and took the opportunity while pretending to wrestle the gun away from the Iron Sheik to shoot Calaway. And then what we just saw, Calaway trying to fire Baby Doll, but Baby Doll telling him that she secured a lifetime contract from former LCW General Manager Ole Anderson before he resigned. Clearly, Anderson, who said he and Calaway couldn’t work together, was taking a last dig at Calaway by granting Baby Doll’s request for a lifetime contract. Well, I don’t know how we can, but we do have to move on. Let’s go to ringside and ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta for the next match.”

Randy Macho Man Savage and The Genius Lanny Poffo defeated LCW Television Champion Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr., in 4:59 by pinfall when Randy Savage pinned Terry Funk with a small package rollup when Lanny Poffo blasted Terry Funk with his metal scroll from the apron. After the match, Savage hit Terry Funk with a flying elbow smash while outside the ring Poffo blasted Dory Funk, Jr., with his metal scroll. Savage and Poffo left together victorious.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko discussed a special independent film featuring two unlikely characters. Schiavone said, “You’re never going to believe it. We saw it last week and I still don’t believe it. Check this out!”

After the video was shown, from the broadcast booth Tony Schiavone said, “And then this happened…” and footage of the Honky Tonk Man attacking George The Animal Steele and knocking him out with his guitar backstage last week was shown.

The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) defeated George The Animal Steele in 3:48 by pinfall after the Shake, Rattle, and Roll. After the match, Honky Tonk picked up Steele and was going to hit him with another Shake, Rattle, and Roll, but Greg Valentine came out and told Honky Tonk to let Steele go. Honky Tonk released Steele and went to leave the ring, but before he left the ring, Honky Tonk Man told Valentine, “Hammer, you have to choose, baby! Me and the Colonel or that freak (pointing to Steele)!” Honky Tonk and Hart left the ring and Valentine helped Steele to his feet.

As Fernandez charged at Bass, Blanchard, who had crawled into the ring, blasted Fernandez with one of his crutches, breaking it in half. Bass joined Blanchard in attacking Fernandez until security officials came out and pulled Blanchard and Bass out of the ring.

The Bolsheviks and Abdullah The Butcher (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) defeated LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich (with Lady Amazon) by pinfall in 6:41 by pinfall when Abdullah the Butcher pinned Von Erich. During the match, Missy Hyatt came down to ringside and started brawling with Lady Amazon. Hollywood John Tatum came out and tried to separate them, but Lady Amazon got in his face and slapped him. Tatum grabbed her and acted as if he was going to hit her, but Kevin Von Erich rolled out of the ring and started brawling with Tatum. Tatum gained the upper hand on a tired Von Erich and threw him head first into the steel ring steps before rolling him back into the ring where Abdullah the Butcher covered him for the pinfall and the win. After the match, Tatum and Hyatt left together as Amazon tried to help Von Erich out of the ring.

In the back, Gen. Skandor Akbar approached LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel and welcomed him back as General Manager and said he couldn’t imagine a better man for the job. Bockwinkel asked Akbar what he wanted and Akbar said since the Disciples of Allah were successful tonight in their six-man tag team match he thought the winners should get some reward. Akbar said since Abdullah the Butcher pinned LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich he should get a shot at the title next week on LCW Showdown. Bockwinkel said that sounded fair, but added that if Abdullah couldn’t win the title, then the Disciples of Allah would have to sacrifice a member of the unit who could never team with any member of the unit again. Akbar asked why Bockwinkel would try to damage the Disciples of Allah in such a way and Bockwinkel said, “Because you’re becoming a powerful threat in Legends Championship Wrestling and I have to control the amount of power you have in Legends Championship Wrestling.” Akbar told Bockwinkel not to be afraid of his power of his way of life. Akbar said speaking of a way of life, he didn’t like the way that the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express lived their lives and he wanted to put a stop to it and he was going to start by taking their gold. Bockwinkel asked him what he was talking about and Akbar said he wanted a title shot for the Bolsheviks at LCW Beach Brawl on July 27th. Bockwinkel said he would have to talk with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, but he was sure that the most dominant United States Champions ever in LCW history would be more than proud to not only beat the Bolsheviks, but also silence Akbar. Akbar said they were going to win the LCW United States Tag Team Championships and he was going to make sure the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express were never LCW United States Tag Team Champions again. Akbar walked away.

Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin (with Precious) defeated Iceman King Parsons (with Dark Journey) in 4:15 by pinfall after the Bombs Away. After the match, Precious and Dark Journey started brawling with each other and Garvin grabbed Dark Journey and was going to hit her with the Bombs Away, but Ron Garvin ran out and Jimmy Garvin dropped Dark Journey and started brawling with Ron Garvin. Jimmy Garvin quickly gained the upper hand when Precious hit Ron Garvin with a low blow. Jimmy Garvin and Precious kicked Ron Garvin until Sunshine, making her return, ran out and threw Precious out of the ring and started arguing with Jimmy Garvin who wanted to know what she was doing out there. Meanwhile, Ron Garvin managed to regain his senses and knocked Jimmy Garvin out with a punch. Ron Garvin and Sunshine left ringside together as Precious got back in the ring and tried to revive an unconscious Jimmy Garvin.
