LCW Showdown Television Results 07.02.08

LCW Showdown Television Results (07.02.08) live from the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, GA.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.

From ringside, ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta introduced LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway who was wheeled onto the entrance stage by a nurse, but stood up and walked to the ring. Calaway thanked the fans for their support and thanked Austin again for saving his life. Calaway said, “This time around, things are going to be different. And we’re starting tonight with a main event. Last week on LCW Showdown, Nikita Koloff had his rematch with the new LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA tarnished with interference from Stone Cold Steve Austin…” Calaway didn’t even get to continue when Stone Cold Steve Austin came out and said he wanted to get his hands on Nikita Koloff or Magnum TA tonight. He said he didn’t care which one it was and if it was Magnum TA he didn’t even care if the title was on the line. Austin said he was whooping someone’s ass and it was going to be either Koloff’s ass or Magnum’s ass. Calaway said that sounded great to him and announced that tonight’s main event would feature Stone Cold Steve Austin against Nikita Koloff and Magnum TA in a triple threat match and the title would be on the line! LCW General Manager Ole Anderson came out and asked Calaway if he was trying to ruin him. Anderson said, “Calaway, you knew that was my scheduled main event for LCW Beach Brawl on Sunday, July 27th. Are you trying to one up me? Are you trying out do me? Are you trying to ruin me, you little punk?” Calaway said, “Please, let me remind you who you’re talking to.” Anderson said, “No, let me remind you who you’re talking to you little sh*t! I was doing this before you were even born. I was doing this before you were even thought of. Look, let’s just end this right here. You and I are like oil and water. We’re never going to mix and we’re not going to be able to work together. So why don’t I just save you some time and save you some pain because when you piss me off, which you would inevitably do, I would have to kick your ass. So why don’t I save us all the hassle and just walk away.” Calaway asked Anderson what he was saying and Anderson said, “I quit!” Anderson walked out and Calaway said, “Well, it looks like I have another decision to make. I will introduce the new General Manager of LCW by the end of the night!” Calaway announced the main event again tonight: a triple threat match for the LCW Universal Championship between LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Nikita Koloff. Calaway then left the ring and exited up the entrance ramp.

One Man Gang defeated Koko B. Ware in 0:44 by pinfall after the 747 Splash. After the match, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone noted that Gang was on an impressive winning streak since he parted ways with Skandor Akbar.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko started discussing the shocking announcement that was delivered to LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway last week after his hospital bed interview live via satellite. Schiavone explained that after the interview the cameraman laid his camera down, but the feed to the LegendsTron wasn’t cut and they were able to eavesdrop on a conversation between an Assistant District Attorney for the city of Dallas, TX, where Calaway was convalescing after surgery to remove a bullet from his chest after being shot by the Iron Sheik several months ago after it was dislodged during his match with Stone Cold Steve Austin. The ADA told Calaway that the bullet was from a gun registered to Nickla Roberts Smith, known professionally as Baby Doll. The ADA asked Calaway if he wanted to press charges and Calaway said he would take care of it. Suddenly, Schiavone and Zbyszko were interrupted by Gen. Skandor Akbar who grabbed a headset and said, “You meant to suggest earlier that maybe the One Man Gang was better off without me? Maybe he was on a winning streak because he now longer had me in his corner? Well, I will have you know that that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll have you know that the One Man Gang may be seeing success since we’ve parted ways and I wish him all the success in the world, but know that he is no better without me in his corner. So, Schiavone, I think I’m going to have to teach you some respect. I’m going to teach you to watch your mouth. I’m going to teach you that the expression of your ignorant American opinions comes with consequences.” Akbar signaled to the entrance ramp where the Bolsheviks, Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov, led by their manager Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie, dragged a beaten and bloody Fantastics, Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton, onto the entrance stage. Akbar said, “This is the kind of ruthless aggression you can expect to see if you don’t start showing me and the rest of the Disciples of Allah some respect.” Akbar took off the headset and slammed it on the desk before leaving the broadcast booth and joining Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie and the Bolsheviks standing in victory over a fallen Fulton and Rogers.

In the back, LCW United States Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express started brawling with the Bolsheviks, but were attacked by Kamala and Abdullah the Butcher. The Bolsheviks left with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie as Kamala and Abdullah brawled with Morton and Gibson onto the entrance stage, down the entrance ramp, and into the ring. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and sent a referee to the ring and announced an impromptu match for the LCW United States Tag Team Championship.

LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeated Kamala and Abdullah the Butcher (with Gen. Skandor Akbar) in 4:31 by pinfall when Morton pinned Kamala after a missile dropkick. After the match, The Bolsheviks came out with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie and attacked the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express from behind before leaving the ring with Kamala, Abdullah, Al-Kassie, and Akbar.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was in his office looking at the bullet that was removed from his chest when someone knocked on the office door. Calaway told the person to come in and it was an LCW staff member. Calaway told the staff member that he wanted the red carpet treatment for Baby Doll’s scheduled return next week and he wanted to have a special interview segment with her in the ring. Calaway said, “Hell, let’s even bring back the Doll House. I want the Doll House set up. Baby Doll is going to be my special guest on a special edition of the Doll House next week on LCW Showdown!”

The Midnight Express came out to the ring and Dennis Condrey said, “Well, we were supposed to have a match tonight against The Fantastics, but since Abdullah the Butcher and Kamala decided to take care of our light work, I guess we have the night off, but we won’t have the night off on July 27th, but it’s all right because all of our hard work is going to pay off when we topple the Skyscrapers, bring them crashing down and take their titles.” Condrey threw down the microphone and left with Bobby Eaton.

In the back, LCW United States Champion Manny Fernandez was shown making his way through the arena corridor on his way to the ring for an interview with Mean Gene Okerlund.

In the ring, Mean Gene Okerlund introduced the new LCW United States Champion Manny Fernandez who limped to the ring and winced in pain and held the side where he was stabbed by thugs during the LCW Uprising pay-per-view two months ago. Okerlund asked Fernandez about being stabbed and Fernandez said it wasn’t the first time he had been stabbed. Okerlund talked about Fernandez’s bravery in defending the LCW Television Championship after being stabbed at LCW Uprising and his courage in facing Tully Blanchard for the LCW United States Championship at LCW SuperClash in a street fight so soon after being stabbed and in spite of not being fully recovered from the stabbing. Fernandez said defending the LCW Television Championship after being stabbed wasn’t the smartest thing he had ever done, but said that getting back into the ring before he was fully healed (looking at the LCW United States Championship on his shoulder) wasn’t such a bad idea. Fernandez said, “As for bravery and courage, I don’t know about all that, daddy, but it seems to me that facing down the enemy in Saigon, Danang, and Mekong during the Vietnam War was just a little more courageous and showed a little more bravery on my part than facing down that punk son of a bitch Tully Blanchard.” Blanchard then came out in a wheelchair, wheeled on to the entrance stage by James J. Dillon. Blanchard said he gave Fernandez everything he had at LCW SuperClash, but on that night, Fernandez was the better man because not only does he have the title around his waist, but he’s the only one of them actually standing. Fernandez said that when Blanchard was ready to get out of the wheelchair he’d put the title on the line in a rematch. Blanchard said he wasn’t going to be out of the chair for awhile thanks to Fernandez, but he didn’t want him to worry because he had someone to take care of Fernandez while he’s out of commission. Outlaw Ron Bass then jumped into the ring and attacked Fernandez from behind, kicking him in the side where he was stabbed several times before leaving the ring. Bass joined Blanchard and Dillon on the entrance stage and Blanchard said, “You don’t have to worry about me for awhile. You achieved your goal, you took me out of action, you put me on the shelf. But Outlaw Ron Bass is going to take you out of the business.” Blanchard, Bass, and Dillon left as Fernandez pulled himself up with the ropes while holding onto his side.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was in his office with LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and told Magnum that he was taking him out of tonight’s main event. Magnum said he was ready to wrestle tonight and Calaway said he admired the champion’s drive and heart, but he wasn’t giving the champion the night off and had another job for him tonight. Calaway said he was saving the triple threat match between Magnum TA, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Nikita Koloff for LCW Beach Brawl on July 27th and that Magnum would be a special guest referee for a one-on-one match tonight between Austin and Koloff.

After the match, LCW International Champion Paul Orndorff came out and attacked Page from behind, hitting him with the Diamond Cutter as he made his way up the entrance ramp. Orndorff stood over Vader before he left the ring and walked up the entrance ramp and to the back.

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and introduced the new LCW General Manager…Nick Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel and Calaway shook hands and the two men walked to the back.

Nikita Koloff defeated Stone Cold Austin in 10:51 by disqualification when referee Magnum TA disqualified Austin for refusing to stop attacking Koloff while he was in the corner. After the match, Austin got in Magnum’s face and the two men argued and started to brawl and had to be separated. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and told them to save their energy because they would face each other one-on-one next week on LCW Showdown. After the announcement, Koloff ran at Magnum TA with a steel chair, but Magnum moved out of the way and managed to grab the chair from Koloff. Magnum went to hit Koloff with the chair, but Koloff moved and Magnum accidentally blasted Austin with the steel chair. Koloff left the ring and Magnum stood over Austin with the steel chair in his hand. Magnum dropped the chair and then walked out of the ring as Austin tried to get back to his feet as the show went off the air.
