LCW Showdown Television Results 06.11.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.
LCW Founder, and former Chairman of the Board, Christian Calaway came out and said he signed a contract last week on LCW Showdown to face Stone Cold Steve Austin at LCW SuperClash in two weeks because he needed to prove to Austin as much as he needed to prove to himself that he wasn’t better than Austin, because he honestly doesn’t think he’s going to beat Austin at LCW SuerClash, but to prove that he was man enough to step into the ring with Austin. Calaway said he had been training all week with former AWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel and would have a special exhibition match tonight with Bockwinkel. Calaway said he hadn’t been in a ring in a year, since he faced and beat The Rock at LCW SuperClash last year. Suddenly, LCW United States Champion Tully Blanchard’s entrance music began to play and Blanchard came to the ring and said that Calaway wouldn’t have beaten the Rock without his help and if Calaway needed him to insure a victory for him again this year, he would be honored to be his personal insurance policy. Blanchard said the victory over Austin at LCW SuperClash could be the first step in restoring the Entourage. Calaway thanked Blanchard, but said he didn’t need him at LCW SuperClash because he was going to face Austin like a man one on one. Calaway also said the Entourage was dead and would never ever exist again and that Blanchard needed to get over it. Calaway turned his attention away from Blanchard and went on to continue what he was saying before Blanchard came out. Out of nowhere, Blanchard attacked Calaway from behind, hitting him with the title belt. Blanchard yelled at Calaway and was going to hit him with the slingshot suplex, but Stone Cold Steve Austin stormed into the ring and hit Blanchard with the Stone Cold Stunner and Blanchard rolled out to the floor. Austin looked down at Calaway for a moment, but didn’t touch him and just walked out of the ring. From the broadcast booth, Larry Zbyszko asked Tony Schiavaone as Austin left ringside, “What was that Tony? Austin had a perfect opportunity to gain an advantage, to take advantage of Calaway and he didn’t take it.” Schiavone said, “Maybe Austin doesn’t think he needs the advantage?”

Missy Hyatt came out and didn’t waste any time calling out the person who had been stalking her over the past few weeks. The stalker came out and joined Hyatt in the ring and she demanded that the stalker reveal who they were. Hyatt said, “I don’t even know if you’re a man or a woman. I mean, come on, what’s your deal anyway?” The stalker got closer to Hyatt and she started backing away and the stalker eventually cornered Hyatt in the corner. Hyatt screamed until the stalker menacingly put a finger to her mouth and said, “Shhhh!” The stalker caressed Hyatt’s face and then smelt her hair and then gently touched her face before kissing Hyatt on the lips. Hollywood John Tatum ran out and went to attack the stalker, but the stalker dropkicked Tatum and clotheslined him over the top rope. As the stalker left the ring, Hyatt seemed equally confused and intrigued by what just happened. A smile momentarily appeared on her face, but she quickly jumped out of the ring to check on the fallen Tatum. However, as she checked on Tatum, she kept looking up the entrance ramp, watching the stalker leaving ringside. From the broadcast booth, Larry Zbyszko asked Tony Schiavone, “What the hell was that, Tony?” Schiavone responded, “Better question would be who is the stalker? We still don’t know who this person is. We don’t know if it’s a man or…I mean, could it be a woman? We still don’t know.” Zbyszko said, “I don’t know, Tony. We might have just seen some hot lesbian action. I mean, look at the stalker walk away. Come on, that's a woman if I’ve ever seen one.!" Schiavone said, "Or infamous Georgia promoter, the late, great Jim Barnett is back from the dead."

The Hart Foundation challenged Demolition to a match next week on LCW Showdown and if they could beat Demolition they would get the title shot at LCW SuperClash. In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Paul Jones and the Powers of Pain and Jones said, “Remember what you saw tonight. Remember the end of that match. Remember the Powers of Pain standing above the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express with the titles in their hands because that’s exactly what you’re going to see at LCW SuperClash. Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, take that beat down you just experienced as the challenge and take this as the warning: just leave the titles in the ring tonight. Don’t pick them up and don’t show up at LCW SuperClash because you won’t be walking out with the titles anyway so there’s no reason to suffer needlessly at the hands of the future LCW United States Tag Team Champions the Powers of Pain.”

Fernandez said that his being stabbed was the luckiest thing that could have ever happened to Tatum because it was the only way Tatum could have won the title from him. Fernandez said he was focused on taking out Tully Blanchard who drove away and wouldn’t take him to the hospital after he was stabbed. Okerlund asked him how the area around the stab wound was doing and Fernandez said he was feeling good and started doing sit ups with a large weight on his chest.
