LCW Showdown Television Results 06.04.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone reviewed footage from LCW Showdown last week after the show went off the air. As LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff left the ring after being hit with the Stone Cold Stunner from Stone Cold Steve Austin, Koloff passed by Magnum TA, the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view on Sunday, June 22, 2008, who was providing guest commentary with Schiavone and Zbyszko. Koloff stopped in front of the broadcast booth and raised the title belt above his head and started saying something to his long-time friend Magnum TA in the booth. Magnum took off his headset and stood up and the two men exchanged words until Koloff walked away. Schiavone reminded everyone that Stone Cold Steve Austin and LCW Founder, and former Chairman of the Board, Christian Calaway would be signing a contract tonight for their match at LCW SuperClash.
Terry Funk defeated LCW Television Champion Hollywood John Tatum (with Missy Hyatt) in 6:41 by pinfall with a schoolboy rollup to win the LCW Television Championship after the stalker interfered and attacked Tatum. During the match, the stalker came to ringside and started to stalk Missy Hyatt around the ring. Hyatt rolled into the ring and the stalker followed her into the ring. In the ring, a table was setup and Mean Gene Okerlund introduced LCW General Manager Ole Anderson, LCW Founder, and former Chairman of the Board, Christian Calaway and Stone Cold Steve Austin who all came down and joined Okerlund in the ring. Anderson explained that Legends Championship Wrestling had been removed from any liability due to Calaway’s condition after being shot last year by The Iron Sheik. Anderson said, “The bullet is still near your heart and your doctors have warned you to avoid strenuous activity and I would call wrestling Stone Cold Steve Austin strenuous activity. We can’t take the risk that something could happen in this match to dislodge the bullet and possibly end your life.” Calaway said he understood. Austin signed the contract and before signing the contract Calaway said, “Let me explain something to you, Steve. I’ve been to the bottom of the barrel. You just see me as a suit, some successful, power mad, money hungry guy who has always had money and has always been successful. Steve, I’ve dealt with bullies before: I had the abusive step-father. I’ve gone without before: I had the mother who starved herself so her son could eat. You think that I’m doing this just to get my company back? I’m doing this so I never have to go back to the life I had before this company. You were the longest reigning LCW Universal Champion in LCW history. You proved yourself and…damn it, Steve, I’m actually proud of you. But at LCW SuperClash, I’m going to do everything I can to kick your ass! I’m going to give you everything I have in my heart, in my soul, and in my body. I don’t want to beat you at SuperClash. I have to beat you at SuperClash. You might never like me, we might never be friends, but after SuperClash you will respect me.” Calaway signed the contract and Austin hit him with the Stone Cold Stunner and left the ring without saying a word.
In the back, Harley Race approached Cowboy Bill Watts and asked for a rematch for the LCW International Championship and Watts asked why he should give Vader a rematch and Race said, “Because if you give us a rematch and we lose, we will never ask for another title shot again.” Watts said that sounded good and told Race to send his mastodon to the ring and he’d release Dr. Death.

Race and Watts left ringside and the match continued.
In the back, Slick was with Butch Reed and Tony Atlas and told them that tonight would be a perfect opportunity to get Page and The Rock to tear each other apart. Slick said, “Listen, these two brothas can’t stand each other. I don’t care how much they pretend to be nice or how much they pretend to like each other. One is a Hollywood star and the other is out shilling yoga to regular guys.” Reed laughed and said, “Haha, yeah, good luck with that.” Slick continued, “Everyone wants to know who the real People’s Champion is so why don’t we help these guys answer that question. I think we all know it’s going to happen at some point so why don’t we move it along. Why don’t we do everything we can to try and get these two to come to blows.” Reed and Atlas agreed and Slick smiled as he walked away with his team on their way to the ring.
