LCW Showdown Television Results 05.28.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.
In the parking lot, former LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin arrived in his black pickup truck and slammed the door as he got out. LCW General Manager Ole Anderson arrived with security officials and Austin asked where Calaway was. Anderson said Calaway hadn’t arrived yet, but Austin had no reason to be looking for him. Austin said Calaway knocked him off the ladder in his ladder match with Nikita Koloff, costing him the LCW Universal Championship at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view last Sunday night (click here for the complete results). Anderson said that technically Koloff knocked Austin off the ladder, he just used Calaway’s body to do it. Anderson said none of that mattered anyway and told Austin that if he wanted to deal with Calaway he could later, but tonight he needed to focus on regaining his title because the LCW Board of Directors was granting him a rematch with the new LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff tonight!
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko discussed the main event rematch between Austin and Kolofff. Schiavone also talked about Baby Doll being knocked off the ring apron and injuring herself when she slammed into the security guard rail at ringside last Sunday night at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view (click here for the complete results). Baby Doll dislocated her shoulder and would be out until after LCW SuperClash.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Tully Blanchard who wished Baby Doll the best on a speedy recovery, but said tonight he was focused on righting a wrong: losing to Ken Patera last Sunday night at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view (click here for the complete results). Blanchard said it wasn’t just wrong, it was a fluke and he was going to win the LCW United States Championship tonight. Mooney asked about Blanchard leaving Manny Fernandez and Blanchard said, “That’s guy didn’t know what he wanted. One minute he wanted to go to the hospital and the next minute he’s telling LCW General Manager Ole Anderson he wants to wrestle Hollywood John Tatum. And let’s just get one thing straight right now: that stupid son of a bitch got involved in my business. I didn’t need the Raging Bull coming to my rescue. He deserved to get stabbed and if he sticks his nose in my business again I’m going to be the one to kick his ass!”
Tully Blanchard defeated LCW United States Champion Ken Patera in 6:42 by pinfall after the slingshot suplex to win the LCW United States Championship.
In the back, a person dressed in a black bodysuit and with a black mask was shown following Missy Hyatt. Hyatt approached new LCW Television Champion Hollywood John Tatum and they embraced. The person backed away around a corner and continued to watch as Tatum and Hyatt walked away.

In the back, Don Muraco confronted LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett, Jr., about his absence from LCW and why he hasn’t been wrestling enough recently. Crockett said he wasn’t responsible for the day-to-day operations in LCW and Muraco would have to speak with LCW General Manager Ole Anderson. Muraco got in Crockett’s face and said, “But I’m speaking with you right now.” Crockett said there was nothing he could do. Mr. Fuji pulled Muraco back and they started to walk away, but Muraco turned around, grabbed Crockett, and threw him into a wall head first. Security officials arrived and escorted Muraco and Fuji away.
LCW Television Champion Hollywood John Tatum (with Missy Hyatt) defeated Sam Houston in 3:49 by pinfall after the superplex. After the match, the person in the black bodysuit and black mask who was following Missy Hyatt earlier ran out and jumped into the ring and attacked Tatum, hitting him with several forearms before hitting him with the title belt, sending him over the top rope. Missy Hyatt left with Tatum as the person watched them leave. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone noted, “Does this…this stalker, at least that’s what it appears to be, does this stalker that seems to be stalking Missy Hyatt have…how do I put this diplomatically…breasts? Could the stalker be a woman? Could a woman be stalking Missy Hyatt?” Larry Zbyszko said, “She's awfully flat if it is a woman." Schiavone said, "Maybe she taped them back and or wrapped them down or something?" Zbyszko said, "You know a little too much about that, Schiavone. Look, if that is a woman, its one tall woman. And not weak either. She, if it is a she, made short work of Hollywood John Tatum."
In the back, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson confronted Don Muraco and Mr. Fuji and said, “You’ll be glad to know that Jim Crockett is out. He’s been sent to the hospital with a concussion and probably won’t be back as Chairman of the Board. That means you have to deal with me as the only decision maker until the LCW Board of Directors decides on a new Chairman of the Board. So, you want a match!?! You’ve got it. Tonight, you’re going to face, one on one, in the center of that ring…The Rock! And if you lose, your ass is fired!” Anderson stormed off leaving Muraco with a shocked look on his face and Mr. Fuji trying to reassure Muraco that everything would be all right.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Kevin Sullivan who was with Abdullah the Butcher and Luna Vachon. Sullivan talked about Kamala attacking them at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view last Sunday night (click here for the complete results) and said that if Kamala had a problem with the way he treats him that he can come to Sullivan about it. Sullivan said Kamala has no one to take care of him now and he could come home to the Dungeon of Doom when he could take his punishment like the Ugandan warrior he is, not like the wimp he was last Sunday night.
LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll defeated Abdullah the Butcher and Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) in 4:29 by pinfall when Ricky Morton pinned Abdullah the Butcher after a missile dropkick after Kamala, with Kimchee, interfered and hit Abdullah with several chops and then brawled at ringside with Kevin Sullivan during the pinfall. After the match, Kamala and Abdullah the Butcher brawled to the back as Sullivan tried to separate them.
In the back, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson approached LCW Founder, and former Chairman of the Board, Christian Calaway and asked him to join him in his office.

In the back, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson brought LCW Founder, and former Chairman of the Board, Christian Calaway, to a conference room where the Board of Directors could be seen on a large screen television. Bruno Sammartino, sitting at the head of a long conference table at LCW Headquarters, Sammartino said the Board of Directors had voted unanimously to reinstate Calaway as Chairman of the Board, but he would have to wrestle and beat Stone Cold Steve Austin at LCW SuperClash first. Sammartino said they had already spoken with Austin and he had agreed to the match and the two men would sign a contract for the match next week on LCW Showdown.
LCW Heritage Champion Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin (with Precious) defeated Terry Funk in 4:49 by pinfall after the DDT.
In the back, The Rock approached Diamond Dallas Page and said since Page had his back last Sunday night at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view (click here for the complete results) he would have Page’s back tonight. Page said after tonight, maybe they could settle once and for all the question on everyone's mind when they're in a room together: who is the real People’s Champion? The Rock laughed and suggested they didn’t need to because everyone already knew who the real People’s Champion was. Page and Rock laughed, shook hands, and then went their separate ways as the show went to commercial.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated Butch Reed in 7:19 by disqualification when Tony Atlas interfered and attacked Page. Reed and Atlas attacked Page for a moment until the Rock came out and saved Page, clearing Atlas and Reed out of the ring. LCW General Manager Ole Anderson appeared and said that Tony Atlas just interfered in a match involving Butch Reed, breaking the pre-match agreement of their match at LCW Uprising. Rock said, “Wait a minute, Ole, wait a minute. I might be willing to let Reed and Atlas break our agreement and team together one more time if it gives me another opportunity to get in the ring to whoop that candy ass.” LCW General Manager Ole Anderson said that next week on LCW Showdown Tony Atlas and Butch Reed would team together one more time to face The Rock and Diamond Dallas Page!
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Manny Fernandez’s doctor about his condition after being stabbed at LCW Uprising last Sunday by some thugs just outside the arena. The doctor said the stabbing wasn’t what did the damage as the stab wound initially wasn’t that deep. The doctor said, “The fact that Mr. Fernandez got into the ring and wrestled and took a move I believe you call the ‘gut buster’ from Mr. John Tatum that did the most damage.” Mooney asked the doctor if Fernandez would be ready to return by SuperClash in June and the doctor said he would probably need more time than that for the wound to fully heal.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko announced that “Inside The Fire” by Disturbed has been selected as the official theme of the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view on Sunday, June 22, 2008 only on LCWSuperClash.com. Schiavone said, “And speaking of SuperClash, please allow me to welcome to the broadcast booth the man who with his victory over Paul Orndorff at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view last Sunday night (click here for the complete results) became the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship at SuperClash, and I can’t imagine a better or more deserving contender, ladies and gentlemen: Magnum TA.” Magnum thanked Schiavone and Zbyszko for having him and Schiavone asked him how he felt about tonight’s main event and who he’d most like to face at SuperClash for the LCW Universal Championship. Magnum said either man would be a challenge. He said he and Nikita Koloff didn’t always agree, but at the end of the day they were best friends and were there for each other whenever they needed each other and it would be an amazing match. He said he also looked forward to facing Stone Cold Steve Austin if Austin could regain the title tonight. Magnum said, “Austin and I have bumped heads once or twice before, but never in a big match situation, never when it was all on the line, never when we both brought our A games, and there isn’t a bigger match situation, where everything will be on the line, where we’ll both bring out A games than LCW SuperClash, the biggest night of the year in Legends Championship Wrestling.” Tony Schiavone said, “And you have to take this into account as well: if Austin wins tonight, he won’t be wrestling once, but twice as it’s already been announced that he’s agreed to face LCW Founder Christian Calaway in a match at LCW SuperClash. That could be a great advantage to you heading into your match with Austin, if he wins tonight, at SuperClash. Well, without further delay, let’s go to the ring and ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta to start this match.”
Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff in 10:41 by disqualification when Koloff attacked the referee and threw him out of the ring. Koloff tried to hit Austin with the Russian Sickle clothesline, but Austin ducked and hit Koloff with the Stone Cold Stunner before leaving the ring. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone reminded everyone that next week on LCW Showdown that LCW Founder Christian Calaway and Stone Cold Steve Austin would sign a contract for their match at SuperClash.
