LCW Showdown Television Results 05.07.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone announced that in tonight’s main event, LCW Television Champion Manny Fernandez would face Nikita Koloff in a non-title match. Zbyszko said, “You know, Manny Fernandez isn’t an underdog going into this match, but you’ve got to believe that a victory over former LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff could put him in serious contention for a shot at the LCW Universal Championship.”
In the back, LCW Heritage Champion Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin was making his way through the arena corridor with Precious on his way to the ring when they were stopped by LCW General Manager Ole Anderson who reminded Garvin that Precious was banned from ringside. He also reminded Garvin that the match was a full nelson match and he would have to make Billy Jack Haynes submit or knock him out with the full nelson to win the match. Garvin said it wouldn’t be a problem for him at all since he had become the master of the full nelson. Garvin went to walk away and Precious went to follow him, but Anderson grabbed her arm and said, “You can stay back here with me.” Precious kissed Garvin on the cheek and he continued on his way to the ring.
Billy Jack Haynes defeated LCW Heritage Champion Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin in 9:49 by submission with the full nelson in a full nelson match to win the LCW Heritage Championship. From the broadcast booth, as Haynes celebrated, Tony Schiavone said, “Last week Rowdy Roddy Piper won the LCW United States Championship from Randy Savage and tonight Billy Jack Haynes has defeated Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin to win the LCW Heritage Championship proving, indeed, that anything can happen on LCW Showdown at anytime!”

In the back, Stan Hansen approached Terry Funk and said that Funk’s victory over Tully Blanchard and Big Van Vader in a triple threat match must have been a fluke because Funk had been washed up for years. Funk asked if that was a challenge and Hansen said it might be, but only if Funk put his title shot for the LCW Heritage Championship at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view on May 25th on the line. Funk agreed and Hansen walked away.
In the back, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson was on speakerphone with LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett, Jr., who said they had to do something about Rowdy Roddy Piper appearing on WWE television. Crockett said that Legends Championship Wrestling was for legends not regularly featured on WWE or TNA television programming and twice in as many weeks was too much for the LCW Board of Directors. Anderson asked if he had really appeared twice in as many weeks and Crockett asked him if he watched WWE television and Anderson said, "You know I don't watch that garbage." Crockett told Anderson to take care of it and said the Board of Directors wants Piper stripped of the LCW United States Championship immediately.
Paul Orndorff defeated Sam Houston in 2:53 by pinfall after the piledriver. After the match, Magnum TA came out and attacked Orndorff until security officials came out and separated the two men. LCW General Manager Ole Anderson appeared and announced that if Magnum TA and Paul Orndorff could keep their hands off each other for the three weeks until LCW Uprising on May 25th, their match at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view wouldn’t only be a chance for Paul Orndorff to prove he was better than Magnum TA or the chance for Magnum TA to get revenge on Orndorff after Orndorff, but would determine the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship at LCW SuperClash. Anderson said, “And if you can’t keep your hands off each other until LCW Uprising, you will never get a shot at the LCW Universal Championship ever again as long as I’m General Manager.” Anderson left and Magnum and Orndorff went their separate ways, exchanging only words as they both walked away.

In the back, an irate Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin confronted Ole Anderson and demanded a rematch next week on LCW Showdown with Haynes. Anderson agreed, but said, “You had better regain that title next week because if you don’t, you will never receive another rematch for the title if you don’t win the match.” Garvin asked about Precious being in his corner and Anderson said she could be in his corner next week, but added, “If she interferes in any way, she’ll be out of a job!”

Patera rolled up Savage with a schoolboy rollup to win the match.
In the back, LCW General Manager approached LCW United States Champion Rowdy Roddy Piper and explained to him that as a result of his two consecutive appearances on WWE Monday Night Raw, he was to be stripped of the LCW United States Championship effective immediately. Piper didn't say a word and surrendered the title belt and Anderson walked away with the title as Piper left the arena. Anderson continued making his way through the arena corridor as, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, "I'm being told by our producers in the production truck that, as you can see, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson is on his way to the ring to address the situation with the LCW United States Championship. What is going on around here, Larry?!" Larry Zbyszko responded, "I think we're about to find out, Tony."

LCW General Manager Ole Anderson came out with the LCW United States Championship and announced from the entrance stage that LCW United States Champion Rowdy Roddy Piper had been stripped of the title for appearing on WWE television programming twice in two consecutive weeks, a direct violation of his LCW contract. Anderson announced that Piper had been stripped of the title. Anderson announced that next week on LCW Showdown, a twenty-man battle royal featuring the top twenty contenders for the LCW United States Championship would compete to determine the new champion. Randy Savage came out with The Genius Lanny Poffo and demanded that Anderson hand him the title as he was the most recent champion and deserved to be the champion again. Ken Patera came out and said, "If memory serves me correct, I just kicked you ass to become the number one contender for the title. So, Mr. Anderson, if you're handing the United States championship over to anyone, it should be me!" The two men started exchanging words and, while Anderson was distracted by Poffo, who also got involved in the argument, Savage grabbed the title belt and blasted Patera, knocking him to the ground. Anderson demanded that Savage hand him the title and Savage motioned like he was going to hit Anderson with the title belt, but he handed the title to Anderson and walked away. Anderson called for help for Patera as the show went to commercial.
