LCW Showdown Television Results 04.09.08
The show opened with the camera on the broadcast booth, as Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown. Schiavone said there was a terrible accident last week after Showdown went off the air. Schiavone said, “As the wrestlers were leaving the arena and making their way down I-64 in Raleigh, NC, after LCW Showdown last week, Magnum TA went to take a shortcut and turned off of I-64 and went down a back road, but was followed by another car. A fan, recognizing Magnum TA and the driver of the second car, decided to follow and started recording this footage with his camcorder. Here’s the footage.” As the footage played, it showed a car being followed by another car. The second car started speeding up and bumping into the bumper of the first car. The first car tried to speed up, but the second car maintained pursuit and continued hitting the bumper of the first car. The third hit to the bumper caused the first car to spin and it flipped over into an embankment. The second car pulled over near the embankment and stopped his car as the fan following the two cars slowed as the driver of the second car got out and you could see that it was Paul Orndorff! From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone, who, just like the audience, was seeing the footage for the first time said, “That’s Paul Orndorff! That’s Paul Orndorff! Paul Orndorff ran Magnum TA off the road!” The footage ended and from the broadcast booth, a shocked Schaivone and Zbyszko discussed the footage. Schiavone said, “I don’t know what the hell has happened to Paul Orndorff, but he has clearly lost his mind.” Zbyszko agreed and Schiavone said, “After that footage was shot, the fan called 911 and an ambulance arrived and took Magnum TA to a local area hospital. Magnum TA is recovering from minor injuries including a separated shoulder and two broken ribs. He’s not expected to be back in time for LCW Torment in two weeks on Sunday, April 20th only on LCWTorment.com. As for Paul Orndorff, we understand that charges have been filed and a warrant has been issued for his arrest for vehicular assault.” Zbyszko said, “You know, Tony, this is professional wrestling and within the confines of this world we get away with a lot, but when you do what Paul Orndorff did last week…that’s just unacceptable.”
