LCW Showdown Television Results 02.27.08
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko talked about the LCW Descent pay-per-view last Sunday night (click here for the complete results) and reviewed footage of Stone Cold Steve Austin defeating a bloody Big Van Vader in the main event to retain the LCW Universal Championship and Stan Hansen interfering and attacking Austin after the match. In the parking lot, Stan Hansen was shown arriving to the arena and LCW General Manager Ole Anderson approached him and announced that LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin was in the arena and was looking for Hansen. Hansen said he didn’t care and told Anderson to let the Texas Rattlesnake loose because he had a cure for the Rattlesnake’s venom: “Take off his head with the Lariat just like I did last Sunday night in Japan.” Hansen said, “Until that chicken sh*t son of a bitch decides to show his stupid looking bald head around me, I’ve got more important business to take care of tonight. You see, I took out that limey son of a bitch Dynamite Kid last Sunday night in Japan and I hurt him so bad I sent his ass back to England. Now if my memory serves me correct, I’ve got a title shot against Mr. Hollywood, Mr. Governor, Jesse Ventura for the LCW Heritage Championship and I want my title shot tonight!” Anderson said he would see what he could do to make that happen and Hansen just said, “Get it done, Ole.” Hansen then walked away.
In the back, the LCW United States Tag Team Champions the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express were talking to Lady Amazon when Mr. Fuji approached them challenged them to a rematch on behalf of his tag team, the Orient Express. Mr. Fuji suggested making it more interesting and making it a six-person tag team match. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express seemed into the idea, but Lady Amazon said she couldn’t and refused the challenge. Amazon walked away and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express followed after her and asked her what was wrong and she said, “I just can’t guys. I’m sorry. I just can’t.” Amazon walked away leaving a confused Rock ‘n’ Roll Express behind. Mr. Fuji approached them again and suggested, “Handicap match.” Ricky Morton said, “You know what, Fuji, sure. But the titles aren’t on the line. So really, we’re going to be kicking your asses for nothing. So if you’re game, we’re ready to Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Mr. Fuji laughed and said, “Sure, Mr. Fuji like to ‘rock ‘n’ rorr.’” Morton said, “Whatever, man,” and walked away with Gibson.
Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) defeated Wildfire Tommy Rich in 4:27 by pinfall after the double foot stomp. After the match, Superstar Billy Graham came out, but Sullivan ran out of the ring and through the crowd with Luna Vachon before Graham could get his hands on Sullivan. Graham chased Sullivan through the crowd and to the back, but was unable to catch him.

Mean Gene Okerlund was in the ring and introduced the new LCW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers who came out to the ring to be interviewed by Okerlund about their title victory over the Powers of Pain at the LCW Descent pay-per-view last Sunday in Tokyo, Japan (click here for the complete results). Okerlund asked Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey what it felt like to finally be tag team champions and Spivey said, “It’s taken a long time for the Skyscrapers to get here, but we’ve finally done it, and as much as Sid I hate to admit it, it took the fans to help us get there. We know we’ve always had you guys (referring to the fans) in our corner and we’re sorry it took us so long to see you there, but we can see clearly now and these (holding up the titles) are as much yours as they are ours.” As Okerlund was asking another question, the former LCW World Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain came out with their manager Paul Jones who said, “You guys are making me sick. You guys have got to stop or I’m going to regurgitate. This is perhaps the most disgusting, most vile diatribe I think I’ve ever heard. You guys come out here like you’re good guys. You guys aren’t good guys and these fans didn’t do anything to help you get those titles. It was a fluke. You see, the Barbarian and the Warlord had gotten some bad beef in Japan and they were sick going into that match last Sunday night. You had them at a decided disadvantage and we want a rematch tonight!” The Skyscrapers welcomed the Powers of Pain to get into the ring, but as they were making their way down the entrance ramp, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson came out and said, “I like the sound of this, but let’s make it official and get a referee in the ring before you guys start going at each other.” LCW Board of Directors member Capt. Lou Albano came out and said, “I was backstage and I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Mr. Anderson. Please, allow me to remind you that the Wild Samoans defeated Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson this past Sunday night at the LCW Descent pay-per-view to become the number one contenders and if anyone should be getting at shot at the new LCW World Tag Team Champions it should be Afa and Sika, the Wild Samoans!” The Wild Samoans came out to the entrance stage and stood beside Capt. Lou Albano. Paul Jones said, “Albano, this has nothing to do with you so why don’t you go back to your comfortable office job, why don’t you go back to the board room before I kick your ass, old man.” Anderson said, “Enough of this. Albano, you’re right. The Wild Samoans do deserve a shot at the titles, but the Powers of Pain have a rematch clause in their contract which takes precedence over the Wild Samoans’ title shot. So, tonight, right after this commercial break as a matter of fact, the LCW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers will defend their titles against the Powers of Pain. But wait…next week on LCW Showdown, the LCW World Tag Team Champions, whether they be the Skyscrapers or the Powers of Pain, they will defend their titles against the Wild Samoans.” Anderson walked back up the entrance ramp and left with Albano and the Wild Samoans.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers defeated The Powers of Pain (with Paul Jones) in 7:56 by pinfall when Dan Spivey pinned The Barbarian with a rollup after The Barbarian tripped over Paul Jones who was thrown into the ring by Capt. Lou Albano who came out to stop Jones from interfering in the match.
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage from the LCW Descent pay-per-view of Tony Atlas attacking his former tag team partner Rocky Johnson after they lost to the Wild Samoans. The footage showed Atlas wrapped Johnson’s arm around the ring post and then hit Johnson’s arm with a steel chair. Footage was also shown of Johnson being taken away on a stretcher. Schiavone announced that Johnson’s arm had been broken and that he would be out for at least two months.
Slick came out with Tony Atlas and Butch Reed and, from the entrance ramp, Atlas bragged about breaking Rocky Johnson’s arm and taking him out of action; Slick says, “The Brothahood might not be what it once was, it might not be the dominant force that it once was, but at least we’re down to the best two men. We’re eliminated all of the dead wood. Koko B. Ware is gone, Iceman King Parsons is gone, and now Rocky Johnson is gone. We’re down to two and it’s really the only two I ever needed. When all is said and done these are the two men I’m going to war with and these are the two men who are bringing gold back to the Brothahood, baby!” Slick walked away with Atlas and Reed.

LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeated The Orient Express and Mr. Fuji in 3:18 in a handicap match when Robert Gibson pinned Mr. Fuji after a flying bodypress after Gibson dropkicked Sato out of the ring and after Morton dropkicked Tanaka out of the ring. During the match, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone noted that Lady Amazon wasn’t at ringside. Larry Zbyszko said, “What’s going on with her? I’m getting a little worried. I mean, she’s not one to not stand by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and she’s certainly not one to turn down a challenge.” Schiavone added, “Well, whatever’s going on with Lady Amazon we wish her the best.”
On the LegendsTron, a special video package that first aired at last Sunday night’s LCW Descent pay-per-view in Japan (click here for the complete results), was re-aired featuring Paul Orndorff. The video package featured Orndorff career highlights as well as the moment that temporarily put him on the shelf with a concussion, having his head slammed in the door of a mini-steel cage by Don Muraco and Mr. Fuji. The end of the video package announced that Orndorff would be returning to Legends Championship Wrestling in one month at the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view on Sunday, March 23rd.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage from the past several weeks of action between the Honky Tonk Man and Koko B. Ware including Honky Tonk Man hitting Ware with his guitar, Ware defeating Honky Tonk Man with a small package in their first match, Honky Tonk Man winning their second match by pinfall with his feet on the ropes, and Ware destroying Honky Tonk Man’s guitar after that match. Schiavone noted that this match would be the rubber match between the two men.
The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) defeated Koko B. Ware in 6:38 by pinfall after the Shake, Rattle, and Roll swinging neckbreaker. During the match, Greg Valentine tried to interfere, but Koko B. Ware dropkicked him off the ring apron and Ware then went between the ropes to grab at Jimmy Hart and Honky Tonk Man hit Ware with a high kneelift to the back and then the Shake, Rattle, and Roll for the pinfall and the win.
In the back, Sheamus O’Shaunessy was getting a drink of water from a water cooler when Diamond Dallas Page appeared out of nowhere and attacked O’Shaunessy. The two men started to brawl with each other through the arena corridor as the show went to commercial.

Diamond Dallas Page continued brawling with Sheamus O’Shaunessy as the show came back from commercial. The two men brawled to the ring with Page having most of the offense. O’Shaunessy went to his Page with the War Sword, but Page blocked it and hit O’Shaunessy with the Diamond Cutter. After O’Shaunessy rolled out of the ring, Page demanded a match with LCW United States Champion Tully Blanchard next week on LCW Showdown saying, “I got screwed last Sunday night at LCW Descent in Japan (click here for the complete results) by the Madness and the Curse. I just put an end to the Curse. Ole Anderson, I’m not asking ya, I’m beggin’ ya, man, as the LCW General Manager, give me Tully Blanchard next week so I can take the LCW United States Championship from him and then go on to LCW Breaking Point next month and end the Madness of the Macho Man Randy Savage.” LCW United States Champion Tully Blanchard came out with Baby Doll who was wearing a neck brace after being hit with a DDT from the Great Muta at the LCW Descent pay-per-view last Sunday in Japan. Blanchard said he wasn’t going to defend his title until the LCW Breaking Point pay-per-view and he was only going to defend it against the man who deserved the title shot, Randy Savage, “not some thug who comes out here and attacks someone to get a title shot. You’re not a champion, Page, you’re just a punk!” As Page left the ring and went to confront Blanchard on the entrance stage, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson came out and said, “Wait a minute, Page. Wait just a minute. Stop right there, Page. If you want Blanchard, you’re going to have to wait until next week on LCW Showdown. I’m giving you the title shot next week, but you’re going to have to wait until then.” Blanchard was upset at the announcement, but Anderson said, “Tully, you said you were the best in the world. Well, now you can prove it. You said you’d take on anyone the Board of Directors put in the ring with you. Well, as the General Manager, I’ve decided to put you in the ring with Diamond Dallas Page so shut up and deal with it!” Anderson walked away as Blanchard followed after him with Baby Doll. O’Shaunessy tried to attack Page, who had gotten back into the ring, from behind, but Page caught him with another Diamond Cutter before leaving through the crowd.
