LCW Showdown Television Results 02.20.08
Tonight’s episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated in loving memory to the Johnny Weaver (1935-2008).
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena. Schiavone and Zbyszko talked about and reviewed footage of Gary Hart throwing a fireball that was intended for the former LCW Television Champion Manny Fernandez in Iceman King Parsons' face, blinding him.
Slick came out with Tony Atlas, Rocky Johnson, and Butch Reed, the remaining members of the Brothahood. Slick and the members of the Brothahood got into the ring and Slick asked Parsons to come join them in the ring. A blinded Parsons was helped down to ringside and into the ring by a member of the production crew. Slick asked Parsons why he helped Fernandez last week and Parsons said that he respects Fernandez and considers him a friend. Slick asked him how he could consider Fernandez a friend since he let him take a fireball to the face and was blinded last week. Parsons said he saved Fernandez and put himself in the line of fire. Parsons pointed to his face and said, "This isn't Manny Fernandez's fault. Don't try to put this on the 'Raging Bull.' This is Gary Hart's fault! This is Abdullah the Butcher's fault! And when I get my eyesight back, brotha, trust that I'm going to take care of those two sons of bitches myself." Parsons said, "And if you can't respect me and my friends, then I have no respect for you and I just might as well leave the Brothahood right now." Slick said he wasn’t leaving the Brothahood because Slick was kicking him out of the Brothahood. Parsons said, "Look around, Slick! There is no Brothahood anymore! It’s dying. It was a great idea while it lasted, but it’s dying a slow death, brotha. Let it go." Parsons went to leave the ring, but turned around and said, "Oh, and even if there were still a Brothahood, you're not kicking me out. I'm walking out!" Slick said, "Listen, brotha. You know the streets. You don't ever just leave a gang. You don't ever just walk out. The gang kicks you out!" Tony Atlas and Butch Reed began attacking the blinded Parsons, but Rocky Johnson didn’t join in the attack. Slick demanded that he join the attack, but Johnson just walked out of the ring saying to Slick, "I'm not attacking a blind man!" Manny Fernandez came out with a steel chair and cleared Atlas, Reed, and Slick out of the ring and they made their way up the entrance ramp with Johnson.

Dan Spivey said, “Well, duh!” Anderson laughed and said, “That’s what I was hoping you would say because the LCW Board of Directors has named the Skyscrapers as the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships and has granted you guys a title shot at the LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.” LCW World Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain appeared with their manager Paul Jones and attacked The Skyscrapers, blasting them with steel chairs and knocking them out. LCW Heritage Champion Jesse Ventura defeated Butch Reed (with Slick) in 6:16 by disqualification after Killer Khan, with his manager Mr. Fuji, interfered and attacked Ventura. After the match, Khan and Ventura brawled until Ventura gained the upper hand and clotheslined Khan over the top rope. Mr. Fuji pulled Khan back and stopped him from re-entering the ring. As Fuji and Khan walked back up the entrance ramp, Ventura challenged Khan to come back to the ring, but Fuji told Khan to wait and they continued on their way to the back.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Stan Hansen who demanded to know why he wasn’t on the card. Hansen said he was a bigger legend in Japan than he ever was in America because the wrestling fans don’t respect real wrestlers like him. The Dynamite Kid appeared and said they could continue their fight from last week at LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday. LCW General Manager Ole Anderson appeared and said he liked the match and was going to make it happen. Dynamite Kid went to walk away and Hansen attacked him from behind, throwing him into the corridor wall. Hansen then leaned over Dynamite and said, "I am Japanese wrestling, you limey son of a bitch! While you were part time with your little Bulldog team, I was full time strong style, breaking necks and ending careers and yours is the next one I’m going to end this Sunday at LCW Descent in Japan." Hansen then spit some chew on Dynamite's chest and kicked him in the head one more time before walking away.

Rowdy Roddy Piper and Diamond Dallas Page defeated Randy Savage and The Genius Lanny Poffo (with Sheamus O’Shaunessy) in 5:08 by disqualification after Sheamus O’Shaunessy interfered and attacked Page as he was covering Savage for the pinfall after the Diamond Cutter. Page rolled out of the ring and Piper got in O’Shaunessy’s face and yelled, “What are you doing?” Poffo yelled at O’Shaunessy to attack Piper, but O’Shaunessy just stood there staring at Piper. Page came back into the ring and hit O’Shaunessy with the Diamond Cutter out of nowhere and then left the ring with Piper and Poffo checked on his brother Savage and seemingly was ignoring the fallen O’Shaunessy. As Page and Piper were leaving the ring, LCW General Manager Ole Anderson appeared and said, “Piper, I don’t know what you’re interest in this kid is and I don’t know if he’s experiencing a change of heart or what, but I know this at the LCW Descent pay-per-view this Sunday he will be the special guest referee in your match with The Genius Lanny Poffo. Oh, and that match will be a number one contenders match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Television Championship. So, kid (referring to O’Shaunessy), I hope you can hear me because this Sunday at LCW Descent you’re got one hell of a decision to make at LCW Descent this Sunday: the guy who seems to be genuinely concerned for your best interests (referring to Piper) or the guy who’s clearly using you as his bodyguard and seemingly doesn’t give a damn about you (referring to Poffo).” Upon hearing this, Poffo quickly ran over to O’Shaunessy and helped him to his feet. O’Shaunessy pushed him away and left the ring alone.

In the back, LCW United States Champion Tully Blanchard, with Baby Doll, approached LCW General Manager Ole Anderson about his title defense at LCW Descent. Blanchard said, “I supposed to face Jake The Snake Roberts, but since Jake has decided to stay in rehab, I’ve got no opponent at LCW Descent. And since it’s very clear to me that nobody in LCW wants a piece of me, and I really can’t say that I blame them, why don’t we open up the open challenge that I made last week on LCW Showdown, why don’t we extend that to include Japanese wrestlers. Ole, I said it last week and I’ll say it again this week: I'm walking into the Tokyo Dome as the United States Champion and I'm walking out of the Tokyo Dome as the United States Champion no matter who walks in there against me! Blanchard stormed off with Baby Doll.

Anderson said, “Tully, I’ve got an opponent for you at LCW Descent.” Blanchard wanted to know who it was and Anderson almost told him, but then said, “No. Actually, I think I want it to be a surprise. You claim to be the best. We’ll, you’re going to get the chance to prove it because this Sunday night at LCW Descent, you’re going to face a man who have proven it many times as a World Champion in both America and Japan.
