LCW Showdown Television Results (January 2, 2008) live from the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, IA.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to the first LCW Showdown of 2008.

LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett came out and announced from the entrance stage that tonight LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin would defend his title against former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk. Crockett reminded everyone that tonight the new LCW General Manager would be introduced and Crockett said that he was on his way to the arena and would arrive shortly. Crockett thanked the audience and told them to enjoy the show before leaving.

LCW Heritage Champion Manny Fernandez and Jesse Ventura defeated LCW Heritage Champion Butch Reed (with Slick) and Koko B. Ware (with Dark Journey) in 3:16 by pinfall when Fernandez pinned Ware after the Flying Burrito. During the match, Reed said something to Dark Journey and Ware took offense and, after exchanging a few words with Reed, slapped Reed across the face. Reed then walked out on Ware. Slick yelled for Reed to come back and wanted to stay at ringside with Ware, but chased after Reed up the entrance ramp trying to get him to come back to the ring. Meanwhile, in the ring, Fernandez hit Ware with the Flying Burrito for the pinfall and the win. After the match, an angry Dark Journey left ringside without Koko B. Ware.

The Genius Lanny Poffo came out with his brother Randy Savage's bodyguard Sheamus O'Shaunessy and said he had borrowed his brother's bodyguard for the evening. Poffo went on to challenge Scott Hall. Hall appeared in the crowd and said, "Hey, yo. Geek, you don't want any of me." Poffo said, "I sent you to TNA and you couldn't even show up. But now you want to come back to LCW and start something with me. I'm the Genius and I can tell you, that's not very smart." Hall admitted that not showing up for the TNA pay-per-view was stupid, but he was back where he belonged, with the legends in Legends Championship Wrestling. Hall said he attacked Poffo at the LCW Endgame pay-per-view two weeks ago because before he went to go back to TNA Poffo interfered in his match with Koko B. Ware at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view in October and cost him the LCW Television Championship. Hall said interfering in his match was going to cost Poffo more than he ever could have imagined and he was going to find out how much tonight. Hall walked away as Poffo freaked out in the ring yelling at Hall, "What does that mean? What does that mean!?"

In the back, Slick asked LCW Heritage Champion Butch Reed and asked him why he walked out on Koko B. Ware. Reed said he had had enough and something was about to break in the Brothahood. "Get rid of the girl, get rid of the deadwood, I don’t care what you do, but you better do something and do it soon or I'm out of here and I'm taking this with me (holding up the LCW Heritage Championship in front of Slick's face)." Reed left and Slick hung his head in disbelief.

The Powers of Pain (with Paul Jones) defeated The Killer Bees in 2:01 by pinfall when The Warlord pinned Brian Blair after the running powerslam.

The Genius Lanny Poffo (with Sheamus O'Shaunessy) defeated Scott Hall in 6:26 by pinfall after Sheamus O'Shaunessy interfered and hit Hall with the War Sword while Hall had Poffo in position for the Outsiders Edge and while the referee was knocked out. After hitting Hall with the War Sword, Poffo fell to the mat and O'Shaunessy draped Poffo's arm over Hall's body. O'Shaunessy then shook the referee, reviving him enough to make a slow two count, but Hall managed to kick out. O'Shaunessy pulled the referee out of the ring and then picked up Hall and hit him with the FRH (Fiery Right Hand) and draped Poffo over Hall again. O'Shaunessy then picked up the referee and threw him into the ring and the referee made a very slow three count giving Poffo the pinfall and the win. O'Shaunessy pulled Poffo out of the ring and helped him up the entrance ramp and to the back as Hall slowly made his way to his feet.

In the back, a limousine arrived and LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett appeared to meet whoever was in the limousine. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone wondered who the new General Manager of Showdown would be.

LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett appeared and introduced the new LCW General Manager…Ole Anderson! Anderson came out and said that things were going to start changing tonight because he was tired of all the crap he had seen in Legends Championship Wrestling recently. Anderson announced that the new number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship was Dr. Death Steve Williams and he would receive his title shot at the LCW Ascension pay-per-view on January 20th. After the announcement, Anderson dropped the microphone and walked away.

In the back, Kevin Sullivan and LCW Women's Champion Luna Vachon were shown with Lady Amazon, the manager of the Rock 'n' Roll Express who was kidnapped by Kevin Sullivan at the LCW Endgame pay-per-view two weeks ago. Amazon seemed drugged and had a collar around her neck and was being pulled around on a leash by Sullivan. When Amazon tried to resist, Vachon kicker her or hit her and yelled at her to keep walking. Sullivan told Amazon that he was teaming with the Sheepherders tonight to face the Rock 'n' Roll Express and Sam Houston in a six-man tag team match and if she could be on her best behavior he would let her be at ringside. Sullivan then warned her that if she stepped out of line she would be punished. Luna Vachon then smiled and said, "Let me punish her. I want to punish her." Sullivan told her to back off and then yanked on Amazon's leash and kept walking through the corridor.

Randy Savage (with Sheamus O'Shaunessy) defeated Hillbilly Jim in 3:17 by pinfall after the flying elbow smash. After the match, Savage grabbed a microphone and said, "Hulk Hogan, you want to go on Raw and take a shot me? You want to challenge me? I've said if before and I'll say it again: be a man, Hulk! Come back to Legends Championship Wrestling, and let's do it one more time! Until you do, I'm going to take out your friends one by one just like I took out this redneck hick Hillbilly Jim." Savage then threw down the microphone and went to leave with O'Shaunessy, but turned around at the last minute. As Jim was getting to his feet, Savage climbed to the top rope and hit him with the flying double axehandle smash and then another flying elbow smash. Savage then left with O'Shaunessy.

In the back, Scott Hall approached LCW General Manager Ole Anderson and said he wanted Sheamus O'Shaunessy in the ring next week on LCW Showdown. Anderson said, "You know what, Hall, that's your first mistake. I don't want anyone thinking they can come up to me and just demand something. The inmates aren't running this asylum anymore. The prisoners aren't making demands of the warden anymore. Next week, I'm going to give you a match but it's not going to be against Sheamus O'Shaunessy. Next week on LCW Showdown, you're going to go one-on-one with Dr. Death Steve Williams!" Anderson smiled and sarcastically and said, "How do you like that? Good luck, Hall," before walking away.
