LCW Showdown Television Results 08.29.07

LCW Showdown Television Results (August 29, 2007) live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to a special three-hour edition of LCW Showdown. Schiavone reminded everyone that tonight was LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway's 25th birthday and he had promised a special night to celebrate his birthday. Schiavone started talking about the scheduled main event, an LCW Caged Heat rematch between Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Footage was shown from last week's LCW Showdown when Stone Cold Steve Austin kidnapped Bobby Heenan, put him under a shower tied to a chair, and soaked him in water before shocking Heenan with a car battery and battery cables until Hogan, who was watching on the LegendsTron from the ring, agreed to give him a rematch. Back in the broadcast booth, Bobby Heenan appeared and said that Hulk Hogan's son, Nick, had been involved in a very serious car accident over the weekend so he wasn't going to be on the show tonight because he was at home taking care of his family. Heenan said the rematch between Hogan and Austin wasn't going to happen, at least not tonight. Heenan abruptly left the broadcast booth without saying anything else.

Confetti and balloons fell from the rafters as LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway, who was holding his neck and wincing in pain after being hit with a Diamond Cutter from Diamond Dallas Page last week on LCW Showdown, and the rest of The Entourage came out and got in the ring. Calaway said, "You know, it's bad enough that I'm in pain. It's bad enough that the fans on LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com have voted and said they think I'm the masked man that attacked Stone Cold Stave Austin, almost certainly sealing my fate with Austin. If all that isn't bad enough, I have to spend my birthday in Canada, but to make matters worse, I have to spend my birthday in Montreal." The audience booed and Calaway continued, "It couldn't have been Toronto, or Calgary, or even Van-friggin-couver. No, it had to be (with a disgusted tone of voice and look on his face) Montreal, Quebec, Canada." The Montreal audience booed. Calaway continued, "And I couldn't spend my birthday with real Canadians. I have to spend my birthday with (again with the disgusted tone and look on his face)…Quebecers." The Rougeau Brothers came out, without their manager Jimmy Hart, and, from the entrance stage, said several things in French that the French-Canadian audience seemed to approve of before saying, "…because we are Quebecers!" Calaway said, "I don't know what the hell you just said, but I'm going to assume it was something smarmy and disrespectful because as we all know you Quebecers don't respect authority. Since that's the case, since you are Quebecers and since you don't seem to be respecting my authority…on my birthday!…while I'm in pain!…why don't we just have a match later tonight in front of your hometown crowd? Why don't you two go to the back, put on your ring gear and get ready for a match because tonight you're going to face LCW United States Tag Team Champions the Nasty Boys!" The Rougeau Brothers started speaking in French again, but Calaway told the production truck to cut their microphones. The Rougeau Brothers threw the microphones to the ground before walking away.

In the back, Sean Mooney was interviewing Superfly Jimmy Snuka about still being the number one contender for the LCW Television Championship and getting a rematch next week on LCW Showdown. Snuka said he was going to win the title that should have been his at LCW Caged Heat when Ted DiBiase walked out on the company. Out of nowhere, The Honky Tonk Man appeared and blasted Snuka with his guitar and then walked away.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson about facing The Rock 'n' Roll Express in a match tonight and Tony Atlas said it was just about finding out who the better team was. Johnson said they were pinned by The Rock 'n' Roll Express in the Elimination Chamber match and they simply wanted to find out who the better team was, "those boys or these brothas."

Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson defeated The Rock 'n' Roll Express in 6:15 by pinfall when Tony Atlas pinned Ricky Morton after The Midnight Express interfered and Eaton hit Morton with the Alabama Jam while the referee was distracted by Stan Lane at ringside.

In the back, Bobby Heenan was walking through the arena corridor and when he turned a corner he was face to face with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Heenan freaked out and tried to run away, but Austin grabbed him. Heenan pulled a document from his breast pocket, but before he could say anything Austin grabbed it from him and tore it up and said, "It's a restraining order. I've seen a thousand of them and, just ask Vince McMahon, they don't do a damn bit of good. As for Hulk Hogan, you had better tell that son of a bitch that when his son gets out of the hospital and he gets back in the ring, I'm going to kick his bald ass and end this thing once and for all. As for tonight, you had better find a replacement because I came here tonight for a fight and it's either going to be someone else or it's going to be you, restraining order be damned. Find me a fight, Heenan, or I'm going to kick your ass." Austin released Heenan and walked away leaving Heenan with a terrified look on his face.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed The Midnight Express and their manager, Dennis Condrey who said, "This is personal. We took care of the Killer Bees and now we're going to take care of our long-time rivals The Rock 'n' Roll Express." Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson appeared and challenged The Midnight Express saying they didn't need The Midnight Express interfering in their matches. The Rock 'n' Roll Express then appeared and said Atlas and Johnson shouldn't have taken advantage of the interference. Security ran in to keep the three teams separated. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel appeared and said, "How about this: next week on LCW Showdown, the three of you will face each other in a triple threat match?" They all agreed it was fine and Bockwinkel walked away as security continued trying to keep the three teams separated.

In the back, Ron Garvin appeared in LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway's office and said he was Canadian and a proud Quebecer and was offended by what Calaway said about Montreal. Calaway seemed confused thinking that Garvin was an American. Garvin told him he was originally from Quebec and a proud Quebecer. Calaway said it was his birthday and he was feeling generous so he was going to give Garvin the opportunity of a lifetime and allow him to face LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff. Garvin said, "Just remember what happened when I was given a title match against NWA World Champion Ric Flair…I won the title!" Calaway said, "I'm giving you a match, not a title match! I'm feeling generous, not stupid! If you win the match tonight, I might think about giving you a title match in the future." Garvin walked out of the office and Calaway said to himself, "Yeah, like that's ever going to happen."

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Scott Hall defeated The Dynamite Kid in 5:43 by disqualification after Dr. Death Steve Williams and Cowboy Bill Watts interfered and attacked Scott Hall in a match to determine the number one contender for the LCW United States Championship. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko talked about Diamond Dallas Page's YRG For Regular Guys and Schiavone said, "With YRG Diamond Dallas Page is even showing people how they can Hulk up and get healthy at the same time. Let's take a look at the video."

In the back, Bobby Heenan watched Diamond Dallas Page's YRG video clip on a monitor in the back and was on a cell phone and said, "Don't worry, Hulk, I'll take care of it. Give my best wish to Nick." Heenan hung up the phone and left the locker room. He approached One Man Gang and King Kong Bundy and said he needed them to do a favor for him. The three men walked away together.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page was doing his YRG workout when Bobby Heenan appeared and said, "What are you doing 'Hulking Up' in your video? Don't you know that Hulk Hogan is the only guy around here who can 'Hulk Up" and call it 'Hulking Up'." Page laughed and said, "Whatever, monkey," before putting his hand on Heenan's face and pushing him to the ground. One Man Gang attacked Page from behind and threw him into a set of lockers. As Page writhed in pain on the locker room floor, Gang said, "Tonight, I'm going to kick your ass for Hulk Hogan."

After the match, The Rougeau Brothers were handed the titles by ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta and he announced them as the winners and the new LCW United States Tag Team Champions. However, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway appeared and said the match was never for the titles and demanded that the titles be returned to The Nasty Boys. At first, The Rougeau Brothers refused to return the titles, but Calaway demanded that they return the titles or they would be fired. The Rougeau Brothers blasted The Nasty Boys with the title belts and then dropped the titles on their chests before leaving the ring.

Robert Parker appeared on the LegnedsTron from the back with the members of the Stud Stable and accepted the challenge thinking it was going to be a handicap match, but Race and Brisco said they had a partner and Dory Funk, Jr., came out and joined them in the ring. Parker tried to talk his way out of the match, but LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that the six-man tag team match would happen tonight and would happen next.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Sam Houston confronted Tully Blanchard and said he wanted his contractual rematch for the title, but Blanchard said he was no longer champion. Houston challenged Blanchard to a match to determine the number one contender, but Blanchard refused saying that as the former champion he was the natural number one contender and didn't need to prove anything. Houston slapped Blanchard and said, "How about now?" The two men began to brawl, but Baby Doll blasted Sam Houston with her Women's Championship title belt and Blanchard said, "Consider that a challenge accepted." Blanchard kicked Houston in the head a few more time before walking away with Baby Doll.

Hart thanked Calaway and Calaway hung up and continued watching the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view.

Calaway said he tried to tell Austin he wasn't the masked man, but what he didn't tell Austin was that he was responsible for the masked man. Calaway said he was the man who hired the masked man to attack Austin at LCW Caged Heat in Austin's Hell in a Cell steel cage match with Hulk Hogan. Calaway said even though it was his birthday he was going to give the audience a gift and unmask the masked man. The masked man turned around and Calaway got behind him and unmasked him, but couldn't see his face, but the audience exploded when they saw it was actually Harley Race. Race grabbed Calaway and blasted him with several right hands which knocked him down to the mat. Race then picked up Calaway and hit him with the piledriver as the Austin appeared on the LegendsTron and said, "Now that I know you hired the masked man you have just jumped past Hogan and are now on the top of my hit list. So Happy Birthday, you stupid son of a bitch, I hope you enjoy the rest of it because it just may be the last birthday you ever see."
