LCW Showdown Television Results 08.15.07
Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated in loving memory to Brian "Crush" Adams (1964-2007).
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as the Countdown to Caged Heat continues towards the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view this Sunday. Footage from last week's Showdown was shown of the beer bath that Stone Cold Steve Austin dropped on LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway, LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff, Hulk Hogan, and Bobby Heenan.
Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas defeated King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang in 5:11 by pinfall when Rocky Johnson pinned Gang after a dropkick in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Tony Schiavone noted that Bobby Heenan was not at ringside and was probably focused on Hulk Hogan and his upcoming Hell in a Cell steel cage match at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view against Stone Cold Steve Austin.
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
In the back, King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang confronted Bobby Heenan about his focus on Hulk Hogan. Heenan said, "Look, as far as I'm concerned, Hogan is my top priority. If you guys can't understand that then maybe you don't need to be in the Heenan Family anymore." Bundy said, "Without us, there is no Heenan Family. As far as I'm concerned, there hasn't really been a Heenan Family since you and Hogan started working together anyway." Heenan said, "Fine, since you feel that way, the Heenan Family is no more. It's me and Hogan and you two can find your way on your own." Gang said, "That's sounds good to me." Gang and Bundy left together.
LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out with the rest of the Entourage: LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff, LCW International Champion Superstar Billy Graham, and Tully Blanchard and said from the entrance ramp, "Sam Houston, since I'm not going to allow Tully Blanchard to jeopardize the Entourage's chances of winning the WarGames match or of regaining the LCW Heritage Championship from you by making him wrestle twice at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view this Sunday, you're going to defend your title against him tonight…in a steel cage match! And Baby Doll, please, join them at ringside. You can even feel free to come out with Sam Houston if you want to, but just remember, you have an important decision to make tonight and I can only hope that you know where your true loyalties lie or at least where they should lie." Calaway and the Entourage left together and returned to the back.
From the back, Sean Mooney interviewed The Killer Bees who had their masks on after being sprayed in the eyes with Raid by Dennis Condrey. The Killer Bees explained that the masks had special gauze that would protect their eyes, but still allow them to see and they were only seeing one thing: victory over the Midnight Express tonight and then victory at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view this Sunday.
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
The Midnight Express (with Dennis Condrey) defeated The Killer Bees in 6:28 by pinfall when Stan Lane pinned Jim Brunzell after Dennis Condrey hit Brunzell on the back of the head with the can of Raid in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. During the match, the Killer Bees used the masks to their advantage several times.
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko discussed the shocking announcement from the LCW Board of Directors that Randy Savage had been released from his contract after disappearing in June after Sensational Sherri Martel's death. Schiavone interviewed Lanny Poffo, Randy Savage's brother, who appeared live via satellite from his home. Poffo read a prepared statement saying, "My brother, Randy Savage, is understandably upset not only by the passing of his longtime friend and manager Sensational Sherri Martel, which prompted him to go into a state of reclusion, but also by his recent release from his LCW contract. He is also deeply saddened by the recent passing of his friend, Brian "Crush" Adams. However, he knows he shouldn't have left LCW so abruptly and without contacting the proper officials, but he was distraught as was evident by his eventual self-admission into a mental institution last month. My brother hopes he and the LCW Board of Directors can came come to some sort of an agreement that can see his eventual return to Legends Championship Wrestling. My brother is proud of his time in LCW both as a legend and as the first LCW Universal Champion."
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
The Rock 'n' Roll Express defeated Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr. in 4:02 by pinfall when Robert Gibson pinned Dory Funk, Jr., after Terry Funk blasted his brother with his branding iron in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. After Terry blasted Dory with the branding iron, neither Gibson nor Morton would pin Dory so Terry attacked them both with the branding iron before placing Gibson on top of Dory and yelling at the referee to pin his brother.
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
The Iron Sheik attended his final anger management session in the mandatory program he was ordered to attend and successfully complete by LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway or he would lose his job in Legends Championship Wrestling after several negative outbursts in the media and at various wrestling shows and events towards his fellow legends. The Iron Sheik and his manager Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie arrived and the therapist in charge told them that they were late. The Iron Sheik lost it and began to berate the therapist and the rest of the people in the class. The therapist called for security after the Iron Sheik threw a chair and knocked down a man who tried to calm him down. The Iron Sheik put another man in the camel clutch until several security officials appeared and pulled him off of the man and removed him from the room.
From the broadcast booth, a shocked Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed what happened with The Iron Sheik just moments ago. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway appeared on the LegendsTron and was standing in his office with a smile on his face and with Clarence Mason, lead attorney for Legends Championship Wrestling, standing by his side. Calaway said, "This is going to be the most fun I've had in awhile." He turned to Mason and said, "Go ahead." Mason read the following prepared statement: "Due to his recent outbursts in the media including various negative and detrimental comments about his fellow legends, libelous, slanderous, and defaming statements about LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway, the LCW Board of Directors, and the organization Legends Championship Wrestling as a whole, and his various, unapproved appearances for World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., it is the decision of this organization, that on this, the fifteenth day of August, 2007, that The Iron Sheik be released from his contract effective immediately. In other words…" Calaway stopped him and said with a smile on his face, "No, no, this is all me. Iron Sheik…you're fired!' Calaway laughed and put his arm around Mason and said, "God, I love the American legal system."
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed an angry Terry Funk who said his brother Dory Funk, Jr., had held him down and held him back, but he wasn't going to allow it anymore. He said he was going to be his own man again and challenged his brother to a match at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view this Sunday. "We're going to settle this not like brothers, but like men because when I get my brother in that cage the only thing I'm going to see is another victim of the hardcore legend."
Magnum TA defeated Abdullah The Butcher in 6:01 by pinfall after the belly-to-belly suplex in a WarGames qualifying match.
In the back, LCW Board of Directors member Bruno Sammartino approached LCW Television Champion Ted DiBiase and told him that his contract expires Saturday and said he needed to sign his new contract or he was going to be unable to compete at the LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view this Sunday. DiBiase said he would get the contract signed and walked away.
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko talked about Diamond Dallas Page's YRG For Regular Guys and Schiavone said, "With YRG, DDP has changed yoga forever and he's changing people's lives as well. Let's take a look at the video."
Scott Hall approached LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page and thanked him for having his back last week and Page said, "It's not anything you haven't done for me before, bro." Hall laughed and said, "Yeah, once or twice." The two men laughed and Page said, "You ready for the YRG 10-second pushup challenge?" Hall said, "Do we really have to?" Page said, "No, I mean, I know how intimidating it can be man, knowing that I'm going to kick you ass." Hall laughed and said, "Well, in that case, you and me, let's do this YRG thing, right now!" LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached Page and Hall and said, "Sorry to interrupt, gentlemen, but I wanted to inform you, Mr. Page, that Dr. Death Steve Williams had enacted the rematch clause in his contract and will get his title shot at LCW Caged Heat this Sunday." Page said, "I've had just about enough of Dr. Death Steve Williams and that monkey Cowboy Bill Watts. But I've beaten him once and if I've got to beat him again then that's just something I'm going to have to do, huh?" Bockwinkel said, "Yeah, but this time it's going to be in a steel cage." Page said, "Then I guess I'm going to be beating him in a steel cage, huh?" Bockwinkel said, "But there's a little problem." Scott Hall said, "You bet your ass there is. Look, P, we're friend and all, but I won a number one contenders match last week on Showdown and I want my title shot." Bockwinkel responded, "That's what I wanted to talk with you two about. Page, you can either defend your title at LCW Caged Heat this Sunday against Williams and Hall in a triple threat match or you can have Scott Hall wait and he can face either you or Dr. Death, depending on who wins at Caged Heat, on Showdown next week." Page looked at Hall who said, "It's up to you, brother." Page slapped Hall on the back and said, "Let's do the triple threat match." Bockwinkel asked Page if he was sure and Page said he was ready for the challenge. Bockwinkel said, "Then it's done. At LCW Caged Heat this Sunday you, Diamond Dallas Page, will defend the title against the former champion Dr. Death Steve Williams and, this man, the number one contender, Scott Hall in a triple threat match." Bockwinkel turned to Page and said, "I hope you don't regret this decision." Hall looked at Page with a smile on his face and said, "I can't lie. I'm kind of hoping you do regret it." Bockwinkel started to walk away, but turned and said, "Oh, and about that 10-second pushup challenge. Why don't we do it in the ring, tonight?" Page laughed and said, "Sounds good to me." Hall said, "Now, this I know I'm going to regret." Page and Hall laughed and walked away together, heading towards the ring.
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page came to the ring with Scott Hall. Page introduced the 10-second pushup challenge saying it was just a small part of YRG for Regular Guys. Page said, "It's simple. You take ten seconds to lift yourself and ten seconds to lower yourself and then hold yourself for ten seconds just above the mat and a complete set counts as one pushup. The winner is the man who can still lift himself. And I need all you people to keep it fair and count us up and down." Page and Hall got into position face to face and started the pushups as the audience counted along. About 30 seconds in, as Hall and Page were in the middle of the second pushup, Dr. Death Steve Williams and Cowboy Bill Watts appeared with steel chair and laid out Hall and Page before they could even get to their feet. Watts grabbed a microphone and said, "Dr. Death Steve Williams is a regular guy and he don't know nothing about no stupid yoga. He just knows about kicking ass and taking names and at LCW Caged Heat this Sunday he's going to kick ass and take back his title, the LCW United States Championship." Watts leaned down in Page's face and said, "How about this for a new yoga position: Oklahoma Stampede!" Watts grabbed Hall and went to hit him with the Oklahoma Stampede, but Page popped up, who apparently wasn't hit as hard by the steel chair, and hit Williams with the Diamond Cutter. Watts ran out of the ring and grabbed Williams and helped him back up the entrance way as he yelled at Page as Page helped Hall up to his feet.
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage of Magnum TA putting Stan Hansen through a table with a belly-to-belly suplex from the entrance stage in their street fight match at the LCW Beach Brawl pay-per-view in July. Hansen was interview live via satellite from his home in Japan. Hansen, wearing a neck brace, spoke softly and told Schiavone that his doctors had told him that he could have been paralyzed. Hansen said Magnum TA said he was going to send him back to Japan and he had. Hansen said he would be out of the country until LCW Survival Project in September. Hansen said he was going to recuperate and return at 100% and earn the shot at the LCW Universal Championship at the LCW Night of Horrors pay-per-view in October. Hansen said, "The only other thing I'm hoping for is to draw a number that put me in a match with Magnum TA so I can do to him what he tried to do to me. Magnum, you tried to put me on the shelf and you have, but I'm telling you know that I'm going to take you out of this business. I'm going to do what you tried, but failed, to do to me. I'm going to do what that car accident in '85 should have done to you. I'm going to paralyze you."
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
In the back, Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie ran through the corridor looking for LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway. He approached Calaway's office and was going to knock, but Calaway opened the door before Al-Kassie could knock. Al-Kassie got on his knees and begged Calaway not to fire The Iron Sheik and to give him a second chance. Calaway brought Al-Kassie back to his feet and said, "I'll give The Iron Sheik one final chance, but you had better really believe in him because I'm giving not only him a final chance, but I'm also giving you a final chance. You and The Iron Sheik are going to be a tag team this Sunday at LCW Caged Heat. You used to be a wrestler, right? Used to wrestle in front of Saddam Hussein, right? We'll you're going to be wrestling one more time, with The Iron Sheik, to face a team of my choosing in a steel cage at LCW Caged Heat this Sunday. If you win, you can stay. If you lose, you're both fired!" Calaway walked away leaving Al-Kassie speechless.
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko ran down the complete card for this Sunday's LCW Caged Heat pay-per-view:

- Hulk Hogan (with Bobby Heenan) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin in a Hell in a Cell steel cage match.
Tully Blanchard defeated LCW Heritage Champion Sam Houston (with Baby Doll) in 8:21 by pinfall in a steel cage match to win the LCW Heritage Championship. During the match, Baby Doll came into the steel cage through the door with a steel chair while both men and the referee were unconscious in the cage. Baby Doll stood between the two men with the steel chair as both men slowly got to their feet. Baby Doll looked like she was going to blast Blanchard with the steel chair, but turned around and blasted Sam Houston instead. Baby Doll put Blanchard's arm over Houston and got out of the cage as the referee regained consciousness and made the pinfall count. After the match, Baby Doll got into the cage as the referee helped Sam Houston out of the cage through the door. Baby Doll handed the title belt to Tully Blanchard and the two embraced as the show went off the air.
In the office, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was on the speaker phone with Vince McMahon and they were talking about Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin broke the door down and leaped over the desk and attacked Calaway with several right hands and boots to the midsection and head as Mr. McMahon said, "Hello?! Hello?! What's going on? Christian, are you there?" Austin stopped attacking Calaway and looked at the speakerphone and said, "I'm sorry McMahon, but that stupid son of a bitch Calaway had to step out of the office. This is Stone Cold Steve Austin. If you'd like to leave a message I'll get it to him." Austin kicked Calaway again and McMahon said, "What did you do, you son of a bitch?" Austin said, "You shouldn't be worried about what I just did. You should be more worried about what I'm going to do because I'm coming to New York City and I'm going to be at Madison Square Garden and this Saturday night on Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC I'm going to remind you what Stone Cold Steve Austin is all about and if you remember correctly, I'm a bigger problem than the United States Congress, I'm a bigger problem than the IRS, and I'm a bigger problem than your bastard child." There was a moment of silence and Austin said, "Hey, Vince, if you heard me, "Give me an 'oh hell yeah!'" McMahon just hung up the phone and a dial tone could be heard. Austin tore the phone out of the wall and then kicked Calaway, who was beginning to regain consciousness, in the head again.
