LCW Showdown Television Results 07.18.07

LCW Showdown Television Results (July 18, 2007) live from the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown and discussed tonight's two big non-title matches: LCW International Champion Superstar Billy Graham vs. Big Van Vader and LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin. Schiavone reminded everyone that this was the first time that Koloff and Austin would meet in the ring since Austin defeated Koloff for the title almost five months ago at LCW Descent. Zbyszko wondered if LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was going to screw Austin again tonight like he did when he stripped Austin of the title in February. Schiavone announced that Superstar Billy Graham and Big Van Vader would open the show and said, "…and with that let's go to the ring and ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta."

LCW International Champion Superstar Billy Graham wrestled Big Van Vader (with Harley Race) to a no contest in 14:22 in a non-title match after Stone Cold Steve Austin and Nikita Koloff both interfered and Vader and Austin brawled with Graham and Koloff until security officials came out and separated the two teams.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Scott Hall and Diamond Dallas Page defeated LCW United States Champion Dr. Death Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) and Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin (with Precious) in 6:41 by pinfall when Page pinned Garvin after the Diamond Cutter. After the match, Williams attacked Hall and Page and hit Page with the Oklahoma Stampede.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Hart Foundation wrestled King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang (with Bobby Heenan) in 3:19 by disqualification after Demolition and The Skyscrapers interfered and brawled with The Hart Foundation and Bundy and Gang. Security officials and referees filled the ring in an attempt to separate the four teams, but they continued brawling. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and said, "I don't know why you guys keep fighting amongst yourselves because the decision has already been made as to who the number one contenders are for the LCW World Tag Team Championships at LCW Beach Brawl in two weeks on July 29th. The LCW Board of Directors has decided that the number one contenders are…The Skyscrapers!" The Hart Foundation left the ring as Demolition and Bundy and Gang continued brawling with the new number one contenders. Bockwinkel added, "Oh, and one more thing. Next week on LCW Showdown, The Hart Foundation will team with Demolition to face King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang and The Skyscrapers in an eight-man tag team match."

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko showed footage from the Sensational Sherri Martel memorial match several weeks ago in which Randy Savage attacked The Honky Tonk Man with several flying elbow smashes before leaving the ring. Schiavone reminded everyone that Savage had been missing for 28 days and no one from Legends Championship Wrestling had been in contact with him. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel appeared in the broadcast booth and announced that if Savage's whereabouts were not made clear by LCW Beach Brawl on the July 29th, that the LCW Board of Directors would be forced to release Randy Savage from his contract.

Lex Luger (with Madusa Micelli) defeated Corporal Kirchner in 3:59 by pinfall after the piledriver. Before the match, Paul Orndorff joined Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko in the broadcast booth and commented on Luger's lazy wrestling and lack of talent in the ring. During the match, Luger seemed distracted by Orndorff in the broadcast boost and before hitting Kirchner with the piledriver signaled to Orndorff that he was going to hit him with the piledriver. Orndorff said he was hitting guys with the piledriver while Luger was still playing football in high school so he wasn't worried about Luger and was looking forward to kicking his ass at LCW Beach Brawl.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Television Champion Koko B. Ware came out to the ring and challenged Ted DiBiase to a rematch at LCW Beach Brawl on July 29, 2007. "You want to interfere in my matches, you want to attack me from behind. Let's just stop all that mess and you can get in the ring with me one more time. I'll give you the rematch you said you wouldn't ask for, but now you've got it if you want it. But this time, if you lose, you'll leave Legends Championship Wrestling." From the broadcast booth, Zbyszko told Schiavone that Ware just wrote a check that DiBiase might not be able to cash.

From the back, LCW Heritage Champion Tully Blanchard confronted Nick Bockwinkel and said, "While I'm confident that I can beat anyone on the LCW roster, I don't want to give just anyone a title shot and, let's be honest, you know as well as I do that Sam Houston is just another anybody, he's not even a somebody like I am. I want Sam Houston to have to earn his title shot. I want Sam Houston to have to face someone tonight to earn the shot at my title." Bockwinkel agreed and announced that Sam Houston would have a match tonight, but if he won he would be the official number one contender for the LCW Heritage Championship at LCW Beach Brawl in two weeks on July 29, 2007. Blanchard said that was fine, but added that he wanted to pick Houston's opponent tonight and Bockwinkel said he didn't have any problem with that.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW United States Champions The Rock 'n' Roll Express defeated The Funk Brothers in 4:39 by pinfall when Ricky Morton pinned Dory Funk, Jr., after the missile dropkick. During the match, The Nasty Boys and Missy Hyatt appeared on the entrance ramp to watch the match.

In the back, The Iron Sheik, with his manager Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie, knocked on the office door of LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway. LCW Heritage Champion Tully Blanchard opened the door and let The Iron Sheik and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie in. In the office were the rest of the Entourage, LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff, LCW International Champion Superstar Billy Graham, and Baby Doll. The Iron Sheik began to yell about wanting a title shot at LCW Beach Brawl and Calaway interrupted him saying, "Let me stop you there. I can't understand a damn word you're saying. But I sure am hearing your voice a lot on WWE television and you know we have a little rule around here about LCW legends appearing on WWE or TNA television shows." Blanchard tapped Calaway on the shoulder and whispered in his ear. Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie spoke up and said in better English than The Iron Sheik, "I believe what Iron Sheik was trying to ask was for title shot at LCW Beach Brawl. Iron Sheik, former WWF World Champion, Olympic champion, has been ignored by Board of Directors and by yourself and we wonder if maybe not you are racist towards Iron Sheik." Calaway turned his head, "Racist? Let me tell you something like it or not, The Iron Sheik is a minority here in Legends Championship Wrestling and maybe it's not a matter of racism, but maybe just a matter of you not being the best anymore. Hell, maybe you aren't even good enough to be in Legends Championship Wrestling anymore. Maybe you should keep cutting funny little promos in the WWE and leave the wresting to the real legends." The Iron Sheik took offense to this and got in Calaway's face, but Koloff and Graham stood up to defend him as Calaway continued, "I'm going to give you an opportunity to prove yourself tonight and at LCW Beach Brawl. You're not going to get a title shot, but you're going to have the opportunity to prove yourself worthy of a title shot. Last week, you were supposed to face Sam Houston, but that match didn't happen. Tonight, Tully Blanchard informs me that Sam Houston needs an opponent. You're going to be that opponent and if you can beat Sam Houston, then we'll give you a shot at the LCW Heritage Championship at LCW Beach Brawl, but if you lose your match tonight against Sam Houston and Tully Blanchard has to defend his title against him at LCW Beach Brawl, then you're going to face an opponent of my choosing at LCW Beach Brawl and if you lose there…" Calaway got closer to The Iron Sheik's face and said, "…you're fired." Calaway backed up and said, "Now, gentlemen, if you'll excuse us, we have some business to take care of. I'm sure you can show yourselves out." The Iron Sheik and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie left as Calaway, Koloff, Graham, Blanchard and Baby Doll surrounded Calaway's desk to talk strategy.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Sam Houston defeated The Iron Sheik (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 5:03 by pinfall in a match to determine the number one contender for the LCW Heritage Championship at LCW Beach Brawl on July 29, 2007. During the match, Baby Doll interfered and accidentally hit The Iron Sheik with her shoe when Houston, who was being held in position by The Iron Sheik, ducked out of the way. Baby Doll hit The Iron Sheik with her shoe and Sam Houston scored the pinfall and the win. After the match, LCW Heritage Champion Tully Blanchard came out and yelled at Baby Doll for the mistake and continued to yell at her as he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to the back as Sam Houston celebrated the victory in the ring.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko talked about the upcoming main event match between LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff and Stone Cold Steve Austin and showed footage from the last time they met at LCW Descent last February in which Austin won the title from Koloff only to be stripped of the title by LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway who handed the title back to Koloff the next week on Showdown.

LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff wrestled Stone Cold Steve Austin to a no contest in 10:48 in a non-title match after Superstar Billy Graham and Big Van Vader interfered and began to brawl with Koloff and Austin. After the match, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced the main event for next week's Showdown would feature a tag team match with Stone Cold Steve Austin teaming with Big Van Vader to face Nikita Koloff and Superstar Billy Graham. This match will serve as a preview for the main event at LCW Beach Brawl in two weeks when Austin and Vader will step into the ring one more time with Koloff and Graham. Austin said, "These people don't want to see tag team matches at LCW Beach Brawl. They want to see me whoop Nikita Koloff's ass and take his title at Beach Brawl. If you want to see me whoop Nikita Koloff's ass and take his title at Beach Brawl give me a 'hell yeah!'" The audience exploded with, "Hell yeah!" Bockwinkel said, "If you'd let me finish, Mr. Austin, you would know that the tiles will not be on the line next week on Showdown, but they will be on the line at LCW Beach Brawl. Stone Cold, if you can pin Nikita Koloff you will become the new LCW Universal Champion or if you can pin Superstar Billy Graham you will become the new LCW international Champion. And the same thing applies to you Big Van Vader. If Austin or Vader can pin either Koloff or Graham, we will have a new champion." Bockwinkel walked away as the four men started to brawl again as the show went off the air.
