LCW Showdown Television Results 06.20.07

LCW Showdown Television Results (June 20, 2007) live from McNichols Arena in Denver, CO.

Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated in loving memory to Sensational Sherri Martel (1958- 2007).

In the parking lot, Sean Mooney approached LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway as he arrived in his limousine. Calaway said, "First of all, I want to extend my deepest condolences to the friends and family of Sensational Sherri Martel. She was a wonderful woman, full of love and life, and she will be deeply missed not only by myself, but everyone who ever had the pleasure of working with her and had the honor to watch her do what she did best: entertain millions of professional wrestling fans for over 20 years. As for the business at hand, I've talked with my lawyers and unfortunately, I will have to wrestle The Rock at LCW SuperClash in two weeks." The audience explodes and Calaway continues, "With that said, let's get one thing straight right now: The Rock is still banned from any arena that LCW appears in until SuperClash." The audience boos and Calaway continues, "Either way, I'm not worried, because whether it's Hugh Heffner or The Rock, someone is going to get a beatdown from the Chairman of the Board. I've beaten Ted Turner, I've beaten Eric Bischoff, I've beaten Paul Heyman, I've even beaten The Terminator and California Governor himself Arnold Schwarzenegger, and The Rock is going to be just another name in the long line of victims who have fallen before the power of the Chairman of the Board." Calaway grabbed Mooney by the lapels and said, "You, everyone in the back, every single fan in attendance, and everyone around the world needs to realize and understand only one thing…I am the power. There is no other, only me. And in two weeks at SuperClash, The Rock is going to learn first hand and never again forget that I am…the power." Calaway released Mooney and walked away.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to a special three-hour edition of LCW Showdown and discussed what happened last week on LCW Showdown including The Rock signing the contract to face LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway at the LCW SuperClash pay-view in two weeks on July 1, 2007. Schiavone announced that tonight The Rock would give a special tour of his home. They also discussed the passing of Sensational Sherri Martel and announced that Randy Savage would be wrestling in a special match tonight against The Honky Tonk Man in her memory. Larry Zbyszko said this was significant because not only was Sherri Savage's manager for several years, but she also managed The Honky Tonk Man a few times as Peggy Sue.

LCW Heritage Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) defeated Hillbilly Jim in 4:15 by pinfall after the slingshot suplex. After the match, Baby Doll grabbed a microphone and handed it to Blanchard who said, "This is completely unacceptable. I ask for competition and I get this backwards, inbred redneck instead? Are you out of your mind, Bockwinkle? Are you completely out of touch? Bockwinkel, let me show you what's going to happen to you if I don’t get some competition around here." Blanchard then attacked Jim, putting the boots to him before hitting him with another slingshot suplex. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and from the entrance ramp said, "Blanchard, you said last week you wanted a former World Champion. You want a former World Champion, you've got it." Suddenly, Tommy Rich jumped the security guard rail, grabbed a steel chair, and cleared Blanchard and Baby Doll out of the ring. From the aisle, Blanchard challenged Tommy Rich and said, "Now, this might actually work for me. A former NWA World Heavyweight Champion even though you were only the champion for about a minute, but you were a World Champion nonetheless. Bockwinkel, make it happen. This guy wants to interfere in my business and accept my challenge, then let him have the match at LCW SuperClash." Rich accepted the challenge and Bockwinkel said, "He's already got the match. As for you, big mouth, you will defend the LCW Heritage Championship against Tommy Rich at LCW SuperClash in two weeks." As the show went to commercial, from the broadcast booth Larry Zbyszko joked, "What's going on with security around here? Buddy Roberts last week, Tommy Rich this week. Can we get someone to stop people from jumping the security barricade?"

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Rougeau Brothers (with Jimmy Hart) defeated The Young Stallions in 3:18 by pinfall when Raymond Rougeau pinned Jim Powers after the La Bombe Rougeau in a qualifying match for the gauntlet match at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view on July 1, 2007. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone reminded everyone that Strike Force, The Skyscrapers, The Hart Foundation, and The Powers of Pain had already qualified and now The Rougeau Brothers had qualified for the gauntlet tag team match at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view in two weeks. Schiavone announced that Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas would face The Funk Brothers to decide the sixth and final team that would compete in the gauntlet tag team match at LCW SuperClash.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel who announced the number one contenders for LCW United States Tag Team Championships: The Rock 'n' Roll Express. LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Blackjacks appeared and said, "Those rock 'n' roll sons of bitches don't deserve a shot at our titles." The Rock 'n' Roll Express appeared and said they deserved it and they were going to prove it when they take the titles from The Blackjacks at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view in two weeks. The two teams started to push each other around and a brawl broke out as security officials appeared to separate the two teams.

LCW United States Champion Brutus Beefcake defeated Baron Von Raschke in 3:47 by disqualification after Steve Williams interfered and attacked Beefcake hitting him with a powerbomb and then the Oklahoma Stampede before being dragged out of the ring by security officials.

In the back, Sean Mooney sat down to interview Randy Savage in his locker room about the impact that the loss of Sensational Sherri Martel would have on his career. Savage asked, "You want to know the impact that it's going to have on my career?" Savage stood up and got in Mooney's face and said again, "You want to know the impact?" Savage grabbed his chair and threw against the wall. "How's that for impact?" Savage then grabbed Mooney, picked him up out of his chair, opened the locker room door and threw him out of the locker room. Savage picked up Mooney's microphone, looked into the camera and said, "When I lost Elizabeth I lost the only person that I ever really cared about that cared about me. Now that I've lost Sherri I've lost the only other person that matter to me in this world. You think it's going to impact my career? Let's talk about the impact it's going to have on my life. If you think I was unstable, unbalanced, maybe even a little crazy before…you ain't seen nothing yet!" Savage slammed the door and you could hear more yelling and Savage throwing things against the wall and the door as the show went to commercial.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Lex Luger who said he was glad to see so many fans had voted on LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com to decide who his partner should be at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view in two weeks, but the decision wasn’t final as it appeared that Paul Orndorff and Hillbilly Jim were near a tie for the finish. Luger said he had to go to ringside to watch Madusa kick Missy Hyatt's ass.

Madusa (with Lex Luger) wrestled Missy Hyatt (with The Nasty Boys) to a no contest in 2:01 after Lex Luger and The Nasty Boys interfered and began to brawl. As The Nasty Boys began to gain the upper hand, Paul Orndorff, Hillbilly Jim, Billy Jack Haynes, Ken Patera, and Ron Garvin came out and cleared The Nasty Boys out of the ring. During the scuffle to clear the ring, it looked like Paul Orndorff hit Hillbilly Jim from behind, but when Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed the tape it wasn't clear if Orndorff hit him or if Brian Knobbs of The Nasty Boys hit him. Meanwhile, in the ring Hillbilly Jim held his head in pain from the attack as Orndorff tried to explain to Lex Luger that it was Brian Knobbs who him him from behind. Luger calmed them down and convinced Hillbilly Jim and Paul Orndorff to shake hands.

In the back, Kimberly Page approached The Dynamite Kid and asked him if she could be in his corner tonight when he faces Diamond Dallas Page. Dynamite Kid said, "If I needed a bitch at ringside, I'd get myself another bulldog." Kimberly went to slap Dynamite, but he grabbed her arm and said, "Stay out of my way."

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Lex Luger checked on Hillbilly Jim as a medical official checked on Hillbilly Jim and Hillbilly said to Luger, "Boy, I just don't know if you can trust that Paul Orndorff guy. I mean, we all know what he's done in the past. I just hope if he wins the vote on LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com and is your partner at LCW SuperClash in two weeks that you can trust him." Luger told Hillbilly Jim, "Well, you know, it's not over yet. You could still win the vote and then at least I'll know I have someone in my corner that I can trust, a good ol' country boy." Hillbilly said, "Ain't that just about the truth." Luger and Jim shook hands.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated The Dynamite Kid in 5:17 by disqualification after Kimberly Page interfered and hit Page with a low blow. In spite of Dynamite telling Kimberly earlier that he didn't want her in his corner, Kimberly came out during the match to stand in Dynamite's corner and interfere in the match. After Kimberly interfered and attacked Page causing Dynamite to lose the match by disqualification, Dynamite grabbed Kimberly and threw her down to the mat before leaving the ring. Page got up to his feet and helped Kimberly to her feet and then hit her with the Diamond Cutter before leaving her in the ring.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW Television Champion Ted DiBiase about his upcoming match against Koko B. Ware and asked if he was underestimating Ware. DiBiase said he was so sure that he could beat Ware that if Ware could defeat him in the upcoming non-title match, not only would he defend his title against Ware at SuperClash, but if Ware actually managed to somehow win the title at SuperClash, DiBiase said he wouldn't ask for a rematch for the title.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Koko B. Ware defeated LCW Television Champion Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) in 6:38 by pinfall in a non-title match after a missile dropkick after dropkicking Virgil, who was attempting to interfere, out of the ring. After the match, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced, "Let's make this official. LCW Television Champion Ted DiBiase will defend his title at LCW SuperClash in two weeks on July 1st, against the clear and deserved number one contender…Koko B. Ware!"

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Funk Brothers defeated Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas by reverse decision in 4:34 in a qualifying match for the gauntlet match at LCW SuperClash on July 1, 2007. Johnson and Atlas had initially won the match, but LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and said Terry and Dory Funk, Jr., had won the match because during the schoolboy pinfall that won the match, Rocky Johnson had a fistful of Terry Funk's trunks. After watching the replay, it was clear that Johnson didn't have a fistful of Funk's trunks.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko introduced The Rock who was appearing live via satellite from his home and took the camera on a tour of his home. The Rock went into his game room where there was a picture of LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway on the dart board and The Rock threw a dart and it landed perfectly in the center of Calaway's face. The Rock then went into his home gym where Calaway's picture was on the punching bag. The Rock threw a couple of punches at Calaway's picture before taking the cameras into his bedroom and then into his personal bathroom. The Rock said, "Oops, looks like I forgot to flush. Sorry about that. Man, now you can really smell what The Rock is cookin'. How about you take a look in there and see what The Rock is cookin'." The cameraman shook the camera back and forth and The Rock grabbed him by the neck and shoved him towards the toilet. The camera went towards the toilet and in the toilet was a picture of Calaway with human feces on the picture. The Rock said, "Looks like I dropped a load of crap on a piece of crap. Calaway, in two weeks, at LCW SuperClash I'm going to flush your roody poo candy ass out of professional wrestling. You wanna insult my heritage, you wanna have my father beat down, well beat this: at SuperClash I'm going to beat your ass from pillar to post and back again and then when I'm done I'm going to do it again, and when you're begging for your life I'm going to pick you up, laugh in your face, and do it again! If you smelllllalala what The Rock is cooking…and if you could smell that, trust me, it doesn't smell good at all." The camera went back down to the feces on Calaway's picture in the toilet as the show went to commercial.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko were laughing about what just happened during the tour of The Rock's home. Larry Zbyszko said he thought it was just about the funniest thing he had ever seen. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came into the broadcast booth and asked Zbyszko why he thought it was so funny. Zbyszko said Calaway should be more concerned about The Rock because while that was funny stuff it was going to be even funnier when The Rock kicks his ass at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view in two weeks. Calaway said Zbyszko should be more concerned with not crossing the boss. Calaway then slapped Zbyszko so hard across the face that his headset came off. Zbyszko stood up and took off the headset, throwing it down on the table. As Schiavone tried to calm Zbyszko, Calaway kept challenging him and Zbyszko kept asking Calaway if he wanted to go to the ring. The crowd chanted, "Larry! Larry!", and out of nowhere, LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff appeared and attacked Zbyszko from behind and brawled with him to the ring. Koloff continued brawling with Zbyszko who put up a pretty decent fight until Koloff hit him with the Russian Sickle clothesline out of nowhere. Big Van Vader came out with Harley Race and hit the ring and brawled with Koloff until LCW security officials came out and dragged Koloff out of the ring. Vader and Race helped Zbyszko to his feet.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Islanders defeated Demolition in 5:08 by pinfall when Haku pinned Demolition Ax after LCW World Tag Team Champions The Wild Samoans interfered and attacked Demolition while Gary Hart distracted the referee and Afa hit Ax with the Samoan Drop in a number one contenders match to become the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships at LCW SuperClash on July 1, 2007.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Jesse Ventura wrestled LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff (with LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway) to a no contest in 8:11 in a non-title match after Superstar Billy Graham interfered and attacked Ventura and Big Van Vader interfered and attacked Koloff. The four men brawled and Ventura and Vader gained the upper hand and clotheslined Koloff and Graham over the top rope.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Randy Savage defeated The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) in 6:14 by pinfall after the flying elbow smash in a match dedicated to Sensational Sherri Martel. After the match, Savage hit Honky Tonk Man with two more flying elbow smashes. Jimmy Hart jumped into the ring and covered Honky Tonk Man and tried to protect him from Savage, but Savage flew off the top rope and landed on both Hart and Honky Tonk. Security officials ran out and tried to get in the ring, but Savage began to attack them. Savage grabbed Hart and threw him over the top rope onto several security officials. Savage then jumped over the top rope and climbed over the security guard rail and ran out through the crowd to the back.

In the back, Stone Cold Steve Austin arrived and made his way to the ring for the contract signing with Hulk Hogan for their match at the LCW SuperClash pay-per-view on July 1, 2007.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

With a table setup in the center of the ring, Mean Gene Okerlund introduced LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel who came out with a contract in hand. Okerlund said, "There's no question what this contract is for. It's perhaps the dream match of the century so let's not waste anytime and introduce the participants now." Okerlund then introduced Hulk Hogan, who came out with Bobby Heenan, King Kong Bundy, and One Man Gang. Okerlund then introduced Stone Cold Steve Austin who came out alone and joined them in the ring. Austin signed the contract and then threw the pen on the table and it almost hit Hogan in the face before falling on the mat. Hogan picked up the pen and then signed the contract as well. Austin climbed onto the table and said, "You can bring my ex-wives out here. You can run your fat, bald mouth, but mark my words, at SuperClash in two weeks, the only thing that matters is that I'm going to open a can of whoop ass on you like you've never seen before." Austin asked for some beers from ringside and opened them up and drank some. Austin then said, "As for these two fat bastards (referring to Gang and Bundy)…" Austin poured some beer on Gang's head and Bundy's head and said, "Drink up you dumb sons of bitches," before throwing the empty beer cans at them and then jumping off the table and onto Hogan. Austin attacked Hogan until Gang and Bundy grabbed him and pulled him off of Hogan. Hogan then began to throw punches at Austin. Austin fought back and kicked Hogan in the stomach and broke free from Gang and Bundy. Austin attacked Gang and Bundy hitting both of them with the Stone Cold Stunner, but Hogan was able to slip out of the ring before Austin could hit him with the Stunner. Austin called for more beers and began to throw beers at Hogan as he ran to the back. Every time Hogan turned to return to the ring and bad mouth Austin, Austin would throw another beer in his direction. After Hogan had left, Austin grabbed some more beers and drank them on the ropes as the show went off the air.
