LCW Showdown Television Results 04.11.07

Showdown (April 11, 2007) live from the Marriott Center in Provo, UT.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone welcomed Bobby Heenan back to the broadcast booth after he walked out of the broadcast booth after it was announced that Hulk Hogan would be returning to Legends Championship Wrestling at the LCW Torment pay-per-view on April 22, 2007. Heenan introduced his bodyguards, One Man Gang and King Kong Bundy, and said he wasn't worried because he had the best protection money could buy.

Nikita Koloff wheeled LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway onto the entrance stage. Calaway was in a wheelchair again this week after being pushed off the entrance stage by Big Van Vader last week on Showdown. Calaway said, "Two weeks ago, Harley Race piledrove me through a table at ringside, but I got up. Last week, Big Van Vader pushed me off this stage in my wheelchair and I went through another table, but I got up. I've been put through a table head first, I've been pushed off of this entrance ramp, but I got up every time. I've been busted up, battered, beaten and bruised. I've bled, but I'm still standing. But I'm not a wrestler. At the end of the day, I'm a promoter and tonight I'm going to present to you a main event of epic proportions. Tonight, LCW Universal Champion Big Van Vader will defend his title against Nikita Koloff in a no disqualification match. But let's get one thing clear right now: Harley Race, old man, you're a former World Champion, you're a Hall of Famer, and you're bound for the LCW Board of Directors, but if you don't want to be sitting at that big conference table in a wheelchair, I recommend you direct your aggression elsewhere and I recommend that you don't interfere in the match tonight. As for Big Van Vader, if Nikita Koloff doesn't take care of you and regain his title, which I know he will, I'll take care of you myself. If you ever put your hands on me again, I'll personally escort your fat ass to the unemployment line." Koloff wheeled Calaway back to the back.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Wild Samoans (with Gary Hart) defeated Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas in 4:18 by pinfall when Wild Samoan Afa pinned Rocky Johnson after the Samoan Drop. He and Slick laughed as they left the ring.

In the back, LCW Heritage Champion Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll were speaking with LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway and wishing him a speedy recovery when Superfly Jimmy Snuka approached them and started looking at Blanchard's title belt. Blanchard asked Snuka, "You like what you see?" Snuka said he did and Blanchard said, "Here, have a closer look." Blanchard blasted Snuka with the title belt and began kicked him as LCW security officials pulled Blanchard off of Snuka. Baby Doll wheeled Calaway away and Calaway, Blanchard, and Baby Doll left together.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan discussed the upcoming battle royals for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships. Schiavone said there were five teams involved. One battle royal would feature one man from each team and the second battle royal would feature their partners. If either member of the Hart Foundation, the reigning LCW United States Tag Team Champions, they would compete in the tag team match featuring the winners later in the night. If they both win their respective battle royals there would be no tag team match and The Hart Foundation would automatically retain the titles. The same rules applied if two men from another team could win both battle royals. But if one man from one team wins one battle royal and one man from another team win the second battle royal, they would face each other in a tag team match to crown the new LCW United States Tag Team Champions. However, if Bret Hart or Jim Neidhart could win one of the battle royals, they would defend their titles.

Bret Hart, one half of the LCW United States Tag Team Champions, won a five-man battle royal in 6:09 when he last eliminated Blackjack Mulligan to qualify for the tag team match later tonight. Also in the battle royal were: Tito Santana, Dan Spivey, and Jerry Sags. After the match, Tony Schiavone reminded everyone that The Hart Foundation would defend their titles against another team unless Jim Neidhart could win the second battle royal.

LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out as security officials came out and tried to separate the teams. Bockwinkel announced that next week on Showdown, The Skyscrapers, The Nasty Boys, The Blackjacks, and Strike Force would face each other in a four corners elimination match to determine the number one contenders for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships. Magnum then began taking out security officials in the ring with the ladder. Magnum then climbed the top rope and leaped onto Dynamite Kid and continued attacking him as more security officials came out to separate them.
