LCW Showdown Television Results 03.14.07

Showdown (March 14, 2007) live from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX.

Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated to the memory of Ernie Ladd (1938-2007).

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and said the reason he handed Nikita Koloff the LCW Universal Championship two weeks ago on Showdown was because he knew Koloff was the most deserving and he proved it last week when he cleanly defeated Big Van Vader to win the LCW Universal Championship. He said Koloff didn't need to cheat, he didn't need Calaway in his corner, and he certainly didn't need the support of the "so-called fans" because at the end of the day he was "more than just a man, more than just a wrestler, he proved he was a champion." Calaway introduced the new LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff who came out and joined him in the ring. Superstar Billy Graham came out and joined Calaway and Koloff in the ring and asked them for a shot at the LCW Universal Championship. Calaway said he respected Graham, but he would have to wait in line because there were a lot of contenders in front of him. Graham got in Calaway's face and said, "I'm the Superstar. There are no other contenders." Calaway said he didn't want to upset Graham or the family that he, Koloff and Graham had created together. Calaway promised that Graham's time would come and that they should talk about it. Calaway said tonight however they had more important things to deal with like Big Van Vader and Harley Race. Calaway said he and Koloff were going to make sure that Vader and Race don't make it to LCW Breaking Point on March 25th. The three men walked out of the ring together, while Graham didn’t look too happy at having his challenge being brushed off.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Wild Samoans (with Gary Hart) defeated The Bushwhackers in 0:52 by pinfall when Wild Samoan Afa pinned Bushwhacker Luke after the Samoan Drop. Before the Samoan Drop, Afa held Luke for a moment and looked at Gary Hart who yelled, "Do it for The Big Cat!" After the match, Tony Schiavone informed the television audience that Hart's "Do if for The Big Cat" was in reference to the fact that Ernie Ladd used to manage The Wild Samoans.

In his office, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway talked with LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff and Superstar Billy Graham and Calaway said tonight they need to make sure that either Big Van Vader or Harley Race doesn't make it to LCW Breaking Point on March 25th. Koloff said he wanted to take out Vader, but Calaway suggested that without Race in his corner, Vader won't be as strong emotionally. Calaway said, "Tonight, once and for all I'm going to finish the Race." Calaway and Koloff laughed as Graham stood there.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Heritage Champion Randy Savage (with Sensational Sherri Martel) defeated Stan Hansen in 6:47 by pinfall after the flying elbow smash. After the match, Tully Blanchard, with Baby Doll, came out and challenged Randy Savage and Sensational Sherri Martel to a mixed tag team match next week on Showdown. Blanchard said he was going to give Savage "the wrestle lesson that my father gave me, but that you're father obviously never gave you" and Baby Doll was "going to teach that b*tch Sherri Martel how to be a lady." Savage said Blanchard's father "might have taught you how to be a wrestler, but never taught you how to be a World Champion because the last time I looked at the record books, I'm a six-time former World Champion and you've never been World Champion once. Now that I think about it, maybe it's not what our fathers did or didn't teach us, maybe it's the talent we did or, in your case, didn't naturally have." Blanchard was incensed and moved to make his way to the ring, but Baby Doll held him back. Savage continued, "Blanchard, I'll make your challenge even sweeter. If you or Baby Doll can pin either myself or Sherri next week on Showdown, I will give you a shot at the LCW Heritage Championship at LCW Breaking Point on March 25th." Blanchard said that was fine and he warned Savage to prepare to lose two matches in one week because he and Baby Doll were going to beat Savage and Sherri next week on Showdown and then he was going to LCW Breaking Point and end the Madness and win the LCW Heritage Championship. Savage simply said, "Just bring it. Ohhhh, yeahhhh!"

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, The Rougeau Brothers, with Jimmy Hart, approached Jimmy Garvin and said they were sad that he had lost Michael Hayes and that Freebird, Inc., had gone bankrupt. They mocked the Freebirds and the Freebird legacy. Jimmy Hart challenged Garvin to a match and looked behind him at Precious and asked if she was going to be his partner. Garvin said he knew Precious could kick Hart's ass, but she wasn't going to be his partner. He told them not to worry because he would be able to find a partner.

LCW United States Champion Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake defeated The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) in 5:41 by pinfall after Jimmy Hart accidentally hit Honky Tonk with his megaphone. After the match, as Jimmy Hart checked on Honky Tonk, Beefcake walked up the ramp and to the back. When he reached the entrance ramp he turned around and held his title above his head as the audience. Suddenly, Greg Valentine walked out and hit him from behind with a steel chair, knocking him out.

In the back, The Wild Samoans attacked George "The Animal" Steele until LCW World Tag Team Champions Demolition approached and brawled with The Wild Samoans. LCW security officials came out and separated the two teams and Gary Hart pulled The Wild Samoans away.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Jack Brisco defeated LCW Television Champion Butch Reed (with Slick) in 5:27 by pinfall with a small package rollup in a non-title match. After the match, Butch Reed threw a fit and even pushed Slick down to the mat before storming out of the ring in anger. Slick followed after him, but Reed clearly wanted to be left alone.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW United States Champion Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake who was holding a ice pack to the back of his head after being hit with a steel chair by Greg Valentine. Beefcake said that he didn't know what Valentine was trying to accomplish, but he had started something that Beefcake was more than willing to finish.

The Rougeau Brothers (with Jimmy Hart) defeated Jimmy Garvin (with Precious) and Ron Garvin in 4:34 when Jacques Rougeau pinned Ron Garvin after the La Bombe Rougeau. After the match, Jimmy Garvin attacked Ron Garvin and walked away with Precious.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) defeated Tugboat in 3:21 by pinfall after the Tree of Woe. After the match, Diamond Dallas Page appeared and asked for an answer to his challenge to a Hell in a Cell match at LCW Breaking Point on March 25th. Sullivan said, "Page, I'll see you in Hell before I see you in Hell in a Cell at Breaking Point." Page moved through the crowd and towards the ring, but Sullivan left with Vachon before Page could get to the ring.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached Superstar Billy Graham and told him he was going to be tonight's main event's guest referee. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway approached them and said that was fine and since he was going to make up the rules Calaway was going to change them. He said Graham would be the guest referee, but the match was now going to be a no disqualification match.

Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) defeated Paul Orndorff in 6:59 by pinfall after the Oklahoma Stampede. During the match, Cowboy Bill Watts joined Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan in the broadcast booth. Watts talked about the loss of Ernie Ladd calling it a professional and personal loss. Schiavone asked Watts if he saw the interview with Lex Luger and Madusa Micelli last week after they were attacked by Watts and Williams in the arena's parking lot. Watts said he had better things to do with his time than listen to Luger and Micelli whine.

{COMMECIAL BREAK}

LCW United States Tag Team Champions Strike Force defeated The Orient Express (with Mr. Fuji) in 3:30 by pinfall when Tito Santana pinned Sato after the flying forearm smash.

In the back, Lex Luger asked if he could borrow a wheelchair from one of the medical officials. Luger wheeled the wheelchair to Madusa Micelli's locker room and knocked on the door and asked if she was ready. She said she was and stepped out of the locker room looking worse than she did last week with bandages around her head and bruises on her face. Luger said, "Watts said they don't have time to listen to us whine." Madusa smiled as she put on a neckbrace and said, "Then we'll listen to them scream." They kissed before she sat down in the wheelchair and Luger wheeled her away.

In the parking lot, as LCW United States Tag Team Champions Strike Force were leaving the arena, their car was struck by a pickup truck. The pickup truck backed up as the cameraman, security, medical officials, and others ran to investigate and check on the condition of Strike Force. One of the security officials asked who was in the truck and the cameraman said, "It looked like The Blackjacks."

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Cowboy Bill Watts was walking through the corridor and found Madusa Micelli who was sitting in a wheelchair and he began to wheel her away, but she put her foot down and stopped the wheelchair. Madusa stood up, tore off her neckbrace, and began to attack Watts. Luger came out and began to attack Watts as well. Williams joined and all four brawled as security tried to keep them apart.

Sean Mooney introduced LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel who introduced LCW International Champion Masahiro Chono and the number one contender for the LCW International Championship The Dynamite Kid for the contract signing between the two for their match at LCW Breaking Point on March 25th. Chono signed the contract, but as Dynamite Kid was going to sign the contract, Maganum TA came out and suggested making it a triple threat match at Breaking Point. Dynamite Kid said it was a nice suggestion but said, "Magnum, with all due respect to you, a man I respect more than anyone in LCW, this is my time and this is my title shot." Bockwinkel said it sounded like a good idea to him, but he was willing to make Magnum work for it. Bockwinkel said next week Masahiro Chono would face Magnum TA in a non-title match and if Magnum could win the match, then the LCW International Championship would be defended at LCW Breaking Point on March 25th in a triple threat match.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway and LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff defeated Big Van Vader and Harley Race in 9:32 in a no disqualification, mixed tag team match by pinfall when Calaway pinned Race. During the match, Koloff blasted Vader with a steel chair and then hit Race with the Russian Sickle clothesline before laying the steel chair in the center of the ring. Calaway then picked up Race and hit him with a piledriver on a steel chair. After the piledriver, a reluctant Graham made a very slow three count as Calaway yelled at him to "make the damn count." After the match, Koloff and Calaway celebrated as Graham walked away. Calaway looked at Graham leaving and invited him to return, but Graham continued to walk away.
