LCW Showdown Television Results 03.07.07
Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated to the memory of "Bad News Brown" Allen Coage (1943-2007).
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan discussed the suspension of LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway who was not in the arena tonight and would not return to Legends Championship Wrestling until next week when he teams with former LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff to face Big Van Vader and Harley Race in a tag team match. Speaking of Nikita Koloff and Big Van Vader, Schiavone and Heenan announced that they would be two of the eight wrestlers involved in the one night tournament ordered by the LCW Board of Directors last week to crown a new LCW Universal Champion after Koloff was stripped of the title last week on Showdown after Calaway gave the title back to Koloff after stripping the title from "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who won the title at LCW Descent two weeks ago, and then firing him. They also announced that tonight would be the rubber match between The Dynamite Kid and Magnum TA in what was expected to be another match of the year candidate. Schiavone and Heenan discussed that fact that Dynamite Kid won the first match at LCW Descent in an incredible match and then Magnum TA won the rematch at LCW Showdown the following Wednesday in an even better match. Schiavone asked if they would top their two previous performances. Schiavone also announced that the winner of tonight's match would be the number one contender for the LCW International Championship. Schiavone also announced that Bad News Brown passed away at the age of 63 yesterday morning and had been scheduled to be a part of the tournament tonight to crown a new LCW Universal Champion. Schiavone announced that Stan Hansen would take his place tonight against Paul Orndorff and the following six-man tag team match would be in honor of his memory.

Footage was shown of the attack and of Luger and Madusa being loaded onto ambulances last week. Luger said it looked worse last week when they were put into ambulances as a precaution. Madusa said she was able to move out of the way in time and while the car hit her, it only bumped into her. She said she had some bruising on her hips and back. Luger said he had received a minor concussion, but that wouldn't stop him from "pulling the plug" on "Dr. Death" Steve Williams.

Blanchard said every destination has to have a journey and his journey started with a victory over former LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich at LCW Descent last month. Blachard said, "You know Baby Doll, if Von Erich hadn't lost the title to Terry Taylor, I'd be the LCW Heritage Champion right now. But that's all right, because now I've got a new target and I'm going to cure him of his Madness." Mooney asked Blanchard if he was referring to LCW Heritage Champion Randy Savage. Blanchard said he was referring to the soon to be former LCW Heritage Champion Randy Savage. Blanchard announced that next week on Showdown he was going to extend a special challenge to Randy Savage.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
In a pre-taped segment, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway appeared on the LegendsTron and berated "Stone Cold" Steve Austin calling him a sell out and saying he couldn't even spell legend, couldn't define it, and defiantly shouldn't consider himself one. He said his title victory would go down in the record books, but he wouldn't ever acknowledge Austin as a former LCW Universal Champion. He said as far as he was concerned Austin was done in Legends Championship Wrestling and would never be seen in LCW again.
Lance Russell came out and asked for the production truck to stop the tape because he had something important to say. Russell said, "I don’t mean to interrupt Mr. Calaway, but I've got something I need to say. It's great to be back in LCW, I just wish it was under better circumstances. There have been some rumors on the internet reporting that WWE Hall of Fame Inductee Jerry Lawler suggested that I induct him into the Hall of Fame, but WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn talked him out of it because people wouldn't know who I am. Well, there are a couple million people in the South who grew up on Memphis Wrestling who would disagree with you, Mr. Dunn. They know who I am. There are millions of wrestling, not sports entertainment, but wrestling fans who would disagree with you, Mr. Dunn. They know who I am. And there are 15,000 LCW fans in the Cox Arena tonight who disagree with you, Mr. Dunn. They know who I am! And more importantly, Mr. Calaway knew who I was and respected what I had done for this business because he put me in that broadcast booth several months ago and I'd still be there today if I didn't decide to walk away. Maybe the problem isn't with your audience, Mr. Dunn. Maybe the problem is with you! Your audience didn't know Mr. Vince McMahon as anything but a two-bit piece of crap announcer until you taught them different. Why don't you take 30 seconds and educate your sports entertainment audience and tell them who I am. Or am I not worth that: a guy who was doing things in this business before you even out of high school. And I didn't get my job because my daddy worked for Vince McMahon's daddy. Let me tell you something Mr. Dunn, for 20 years I was the voice of Memphis Wrestling and I wasn't a two-bit piece of crap announcer like Mr. McMahon. I was the voice of a generation of wrestling fans. But I guess that isn't important anymore. If I can't jump off a ladder or if I'm not 6'4'' and 300 pounds, I guess I'm not worth your time. Let me close with one thing: what I do is talent, what I have is a gift. As for you, Mr. Dunn, producers are a dime a dozen. I'm already a part of a Hall of Fame, a legitimate Hall of Fame: the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame. What Hall of Fame are you a part of Mr. Dunn?" Russell threw down the microphone and walked away. From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan applauded Lance Russell's promo and Heenan said, "He's absolutely right, Schiavone."
Nikita Koloff defeated Big Van Vader (with Harley Race) in 14:17 by pinfall after the Russian Sickle clothesline in the final match in the LCW Universal Championship Tournament to win the LCW Universal Championship. After the match, Superstar Billy Graham came out and grabbed the LCW Universal Championship and looked at it for a moment before handing it to Nikita Koloff and raising the new champion's arm in the air in victory.
