LCW Showdown Television Results 02.28.07

Showdown (February 28, 2007) live from the Coors Events Center in Boulder, CO.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan showed clips from the match between Magnum TA and The Dynamite Kid at LCW Descent last Sunday night in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Schiavone announced a rematch between the two men as the main event tonight. Schiavone and Heenan also discussed the main event at LCW Descent between former LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who won the title in controversial fashion. Schiavone and Heenan also discussed LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway's involvement in the match and the fact he left with the title. They also announced that LegendsChampionshipWrestling.com announced in an exclusive Monday afternoon that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin had been released from his contract. As they made the announcement, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway's entrance them began to play and he made his way to the ring.

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out with the LCW Universal Champion over his shoulder. Calaway got into the ring and announced that "Stone Cold'" Steve Austin had been released from his contract: "Austin 3:16 says I've just whipped your ass, huh? Well Steve, Calaway 3:16 says I just screwed you, took your title, fired you, and then sent you back to be Vince McMahon's problem. But Steve, when you're done doing nothing for your million dollar payoff at WrestleMania, I challenge you, no I beg you, to try and come back to LCW and get this title." The audience began to chant "Asshole," as Calaway shifted his focus. "Now, let's talk about the man in the middle of all of the action last Sunday night. Let's talk about…referee Danny Davis. Danny, please join me in the ring." Danny Davis came out and joined Calaway in the ring. Calaway got in Davis' face and said, "Last Sunday night, I gave you the most important job of the evening. I asked you to officiate the match between Nikita Koloff and Steve Austin. Towards the end of the match, what did Steve Austin do to you?" Davis responded, "He hit me with the Stunner." Calaway said, "That right, he hit you with the Stone Cold Stunner, which to any other referee might have meant lights out for the rest of the evening. But you're 'Dangerous' Danny Davis. You're the 'Rasslin' Referee', isn't that what Jimmy Hart used to call you?" Davis agreed and Calaway continued, "Well, last Sunday night you were quite simply put…pathetic because quite frankly I expected better from you. I expected you to be able to lift you head and lift you hand and call for the bell for what should have been an immediate disqualification. But instead I had to do your job and as I was attempting to enter the ring to call for the disqualification I was hit with the Stone Cold Stunner." The audience cheered and Calaway responded to them, "I'm glad you all enjoyed it so much, but don't enjoy it too much because remember I'm the guy that can make sure you never see 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin in LCW again." Calaway turned his attention back to Davis and said, "But after you were hit with the Stunner, and after I was hit with the Stunner, you made matters worse, didn't you? You got back in the ring and continued to try to officiate the match. But there wasn't any match left was there, there was only Austin hitting Koloff with the Stone Cold Stunner and covering him for the pinfall, a pinfall that you counted mind you, and the win to become the new LCW Universal Champion. Well, I can't erase history and that win counts and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin will go down in the record books as having won the LCW Universal Championship, but it's too bad it'll be the shortest reign in the history of LCW because Austin is now a former LCW Universal Champion because since he's not here to defend the title he's being stripped of it as of right now. Now, as for you Danny Davis…you're fired!" Davis looked shocked, but Calaway told him to leave the ring and leave the building because he was fired. Davis grabbed Calaway and began yelling at him, but Nikita Koloff came out and attacked him and hit him with the Russian Sickle clothesline, before lifting him over his head and throwing him over the top rope. Calaway announced that the new LCW Universal Champion was the former LCW Universal Champion…Nikita Koloff and he handed the title back to Koloff. Harley Race then came out and stood on the entrance ramp and said, "Calaway, you've only proved one thing tonight and that is that you have no respect for tradition. By handing that title back to Koloff you spit all over the tradition of this sport and the tradition of competition in this sport." Calaway said, "What's your point, old man?" Race said, "My point is simply this. If it wasn't clear before, let me make it real clear right now: it's Vader Time!" Big Van Vader then attacked Koloff from behind and the two men brawled until Vader gained the upper hand and clotheslined Koloff over the top rope and out of the ring. Calaway got out of the ring as the two men started to brawl, and held Koloff back after he was clotheslined over the top rope.
