LCW Showdown Television Results 01.24.07
In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway arrived and was immediately confronted by Stone Cold Steve Austin who grabbed Calaway by the lapels and threw him against the limousine demanding a rematch against LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff and Austin said he didn't want any triple threat match this time, he wanted Koloff one on one. Calaway looked at something out of the corner of his eye and said, "I don't think so, Steve." Austin said, "You don't think so? When did you grow a pair?" Calaway looked at his watch and said, "Since Vader Time!" Big Van Vader then came out of nowhere and began brawling with Austin. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached the brawling Austin and Vader with LCW security officials who tried to separate them. Bockwinkel announced that this week on Showdown Big Van Vader would face Stone Cold Steve Austin in a number one contenders match later tonight. LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway interrupted him and said, "And I have the perfect special guest referee. Former NWA World Champion…Harley Race." Calaway went on to announce that the winner of the match would go on to face Nikita Koloff at LCW Showdown at the Chase V in two weeks on Saturday, February 3, 2007.
Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly Page defeated Kevin Sullivan and Woman in 5:37 by pinfall when Page pinned Sullivan after the Diamond Cutter after Woman hit Sullivan with a low blow. After the match, Sean Mooney got in the ring and interviewed Page who said it was a setup from day one. Woman wanted nothing more than to get back at her ex-husband, Kevin Sullivan. He said it was a plan from the beginning. He knew that Kimberly needed something to push her over the edge and snap her out of the spell that Sullivan had put on her. Page asked Kimberly to join him in two weeks in St. Louis at the LCW Showdown at the Chase V special on Saturday, February 3, 2007, because he had an important announcement to make.

In the back, the new LCW Television Champion Butch Reed arrived with his manager Slick, who was wearing a neck brace after being hit with the DDT from Jake Roberts last Sunday at LCW Ascension. They were approached by Sean Mooney and Mooney asked Slick about Roberts getting a shot at the title. Slick said Roberts would never get another shot at the title. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached them and said in two weeks at LCW Showdown at the Chase V on Saturday, February, 3, 2007, LCW Television Champion Butch Reed would face Jake Roberts and Slick would be banned from ringside. Slick and Butch Reed threw a fit as Bockwinkel walked away.
The Freebirds defeated LCW United States Champion The Steiner Brothers in 6:48 by pinfall when Jimmy Garvin pinned Rick Steiner with a rollup to win the LCW United States Tag Team Championships. During the match, Precious, Jimmy Garvin's former manager and wife, appeared in the entrance way and took off the fur coat she was wearing to reveal she was wearing a bikini which distracted Steiner and allowed Garvin to roll him up for the pinfall and the win.

In the back, Sean Mooney tried to interview LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff about attacking Stone Cold Steve Austin and Magnum TA last Sunday at LCW Ascension, but Koloff didn't say anything. When Mooney asked again, Koloff grabbed him and slammed him up against some lockers, but let him go without saying anything before he walked away.
The Killer Bees defeated The Funk Brothers in 4:37 by pinfall when Jim Brunzell pinned Dory Funk, Jr., after a dropkick from the top rope.
In the back, Bobby Heenan was talking with One Man Gang about his upcoming match with Corporal Kirchner. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached them and told Heenan that he wasn't going to be accompanying One Man Gang to ringside because the Heenan Family had to disband after Billy Jack Haynes defeated Ken Patera at LCW Ascension last Sunday. Heenan tried to argue that he was just managing One Man Gang. Bockwinkel told him that if he read his contract he couldn't manage any former members of the Heenan Family and he couldn't manager more than one singles or one tag team wrestler at a time for a period of one year. Heenan tried to argue and asked Bockwinkel what he was supposed to do. Bockwinkel told him he was just going to have to find another job. Bockwinkel said, "I hear concessions is hiring." Bockwinkel laughed as he walked away.

In the back, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached The Killer Bees and said he was proud of their performance against The Funk Brothers and they had earned themselves a match against the new LCW United States Tag Team Champions, The Freebirds. Bockwinkel said it would be a non-title match, but if they could win they would be the number one contenders for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships. The Killer Bees thanked Bockwinkel and said they would do their best.
One Man Gang defeated Corporal Kirchner in 5:49 by pinfall after the 747 Splash. After the match, as One Man Gang was making his way up the entrance ramp, Slick approached him and the two men walked to the back together.

In the back, Sean Mooney approached Slick about his conversation with One Man Gang. Slick said it was none of his business and that they were only talking about old times.
Brother Love came out for "The Brother Love Show" interview segment and introduced his guests: Cowboy Bill Watts and The Original Country Boys: Stan Hansen, Cowboy Bob Orton, Dirty Dick Slater, and Outlaw Ron Bass. Watts announced that he had either sold or was releasing the contracts for his managerial services of The Original Country Boys members. Watts announced that he had sold Cowboy Bob Orton and Dirty Dick Slater's contract to Col. Robert Parker, who came out and joined them in the ring. Parker and Watts shook hands and Parker announced the return of the Stud Stable under his direction. Watts then announced the sale of Outlaw Ron Bass' contract to James J. Dillon, who came out and joined them in the ring. Watts then announced that Stan Hansen was now a free agent. Brother Love asked Watts about his future and Watts said he future was going to be fine and he introduced the returning "Dr. Death" Steve Williams!
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Magnum TA about LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff attacking him at Magnum said he hopes Koloff was "in the moment" and "confused" because otherwise, it was going to cause a serious strain on their friendship. Mooney asked Magnum about The Dynamite Kid and Magnum said Dynamite Kid made a mistake when he attacked him at LCW Ascension, but it was a mistake he was only going to make once.
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura talked about Nikita Koloff's recent change of heart and about him attacking Stone Cold Steve Austin and his best friend Magnum TA at LCW Ascension. Schiavone said KOloff had some explaining to do and Ventura said he didn’t need to explain anything, but he wanted to and he didn't want to do it with Sean Mooney. He wanted to explain to the only broadcaster worthy of his time. Schiavone asked who and Ventura said himself of course. LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff came out and said, "I want to explain something. I don't care what any of these people think. I don't care what Stone Cold Steve Austin or Magnum TA think. I will do anything to hold onto this (referring to the LCW Universal Championship). Magnum TA is my friend, but if gets in my way, I will eliminate him just like I will eliminate anyone else that's put in my way." Jesse Ventura said, "My broadcast partner, Tony Schiavone, wants to know what caused this change of heart." Koloff grabbed Ventura and said, "Let's get one thing straight right now, 'Russian Nightmare' doesn't have a heart, I never had a heart, heart is weakness and 'Russian Nightmare' is not weak." Ventura got in Koloff's face and told him to take his hands off of him. Koloff released Ventura and Ventura said the interview was over and turned to leave, but Koloff hit Ventura with a forearm to the back of the neck. When Ventura regained his senses and turned around, Koloff was in position and hit Ventura with the Russian Sickle clothesline. Koloff picked Ventura up and threw him from the entrance stage down to the cement floor below.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone updated everyone and showed footage of what just happened between Nikita Koloff and Jesse Ventura. As medical officials placed Ventura on a stretcher, Ventura could be overheard saying, "My neck." Schiavone worried that Nikita Koloff may have broken Jesse Ventura's neck.
Big Van Vader (with Harley Race) defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin in 9:35 by pinfall after special guest referee Harley Race hit Austin with a pair of brass knuckles to become the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship next week on Showdown. After the match, Austin hit Race with the Stone Cold Stunner.

Another good show, Austin is looking good and Vader is still being used really well.
The Koloff/Ventura confrontation came over really damn well too and finally the Killer Bee's with a push is quite interesting.
p.s. Good move with the new US tag champions, I knew Steiner and his TNA contract was going to cost the brothers their belts but you went a less predictable route and waited an extra show to have them lose them. Well done.
