LCW Showdown Television Results 01.17.07

Showdown (January 17, 2006) live from the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, NE.

In the parking lot, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway arrived in his limousine and took an envelope out of his jacket breast pocket and told Sean Mooney that in the envelope was a contract for a shot at the LCW Universal Championship tonight and it would be on his door and the first man to sign it tonight was going to get a title shot.

Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) defeated Billy Jack Haynes in 6:21 by pinfall after Ken Patera interfered and hit Haynes with a steel chair. After the match, a fan wearing a hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, and sunglasses and carrying a metal bucket jumped the security barricade and dumped the blood over DiBiase's head before hitting him with the metal bucket and knocking him out. Virgil, still healing from injures sustained several weeks ago after being thrown through a car window by Randy Savage, couldn't get in the ring fast enough and then slipped in the blood once he got in the ring. The fan joined Randy Savage who came and stood on the entrance ramp. The fan took off the sunglasses and sweatshirt hood and revealed herself to be Sensational Sherri Martel. Savage warned DiBiase that those were only the first drops.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Bobby Heenan and Ken Patera who laughed about hitting Billy Jack Haynes with a steel chair in his match against Ted DiBiase moments ago causing him to lose the match. Haynes confronted them and LCW security officials intervened to keep them apart. Haynes said he had had enough of Bobby Heenan and the Heenan Family and demanded a match this Sunday at LCW Ascension. Heenan said that was fine and he had the match. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached them and said Ken Patera and Billy Jack Haynes would face each other at LCW Ascension, but if any other member of the Heenan Family interfered the Heenan Family would have to disband forever. Heenan got cocky and said that was fine because he had complete and total faith in Patera. Bockwinkel said since that was the case Heenan didn't need to be at ringside. Heenan said that was fine as well because he was confident in Patera's ability to beat Haynes. Bockwinkel said since he was so confident, if Patera loses the Heenan Family would have to disband. Heenan's cocky smile turned to shock and Patera told him not to worry. Haynes told him to be worried.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, Butch Reed, with Slick, tried to sign the contract but LCW Television Champion Bam Bam Bigelow, with Luna Vachon, attacked him and the two men brawled into the arena until LCW security officials came out and separated the two men. Meanwhile, backstage Kevin Sullivan, with Kimberly Page, tried to sign the contract, but Diamond Dallas Page attacked him and they brawled out into the arena. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out with more security officials and some referees and told them to regain order and get the men separated because there was going to be a tag team match featuring LCW Television Champion Bam Bam Bigelow and Diamond Dallas Page vs. Butch Reed and Kevin Sullivan.

Butch Reed (with Slick) and Kevin Sullivan (with Kimberly Page) defeated Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow (with Luna Vachon) in 9:40 by pinfall when Reed pinned Bigelow after a flying shoulder tackle. During the match, Woman came out and confronted Kevin Sullivan, but Sullvan put Kimberly Page in front of him and the two women began to brawl until Sullivan separated them. Woman slapped Sullivan and Page hit Sullivan with the Diamond Cutter on the floor.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Kevin Von Erich who challenged LCW Heritage Champion Terry Taylor to a match for the title and promised that if he didn't win Taylor would never hear from him again.

After the match, LCW security officials came out and tried to separate the two teams. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced a four-on-four gauntlet match in which the first team to have all their members eliminated would be fired from Legends Championship Wrestling.

In a pre-taped segment, Rowdy Roddy Piper was interviewed by Mean Gene Okerlund walking the streets of Harlem. Piper talked about growing up on the streets and having to fight for his life. Piper said he was fighting for his life again, but this time against cancer. He said he was going to win the fight against cancer and he was going to win the street fight against Bad News Brown and win the LCW United States Championship.

Awesome show and it's interesting to see Austin move up the card and facing the likes of Vader and Koloff.

One question tho, didn't Austin lose his title last week to Magnum TA?? Never mind that dastardly Calloway probably just reversed the decsion and I missed it. I always was a bit slow on the uptake, lol.
