LCW Showdown Television Results 11.08.06

Showdown (November 8, 2006) live from the Colonial Center in Columbia, SC.

Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated to the memory of Sputnik Monroe (1928-2006).

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura welcomed everyone to Showdown and talked about the main event: LCW International Champion Magnum TA defending his title against Stone Cold Steve Austin. Ventura also congratulated California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger who won re-election in Tuesday's mid-term elections.

Ronnie Garvin defeated LCW Television Champion Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) in 6:38 by disqualification after Cowboy Bill Watts interfered and attacked Garvin in the middle of the Garvin Stomp. After the match, Williams and Watts attacked Garvin until Bam Bam Bigelow came out with a steel chair and cleared them out of the ring.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway arrived and headed to the ring and Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura noted that he didn't look happy, which Ventura noted was probably due to the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger won re-election yesterday.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

In the back, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached LCW Television Champion Steve Williams and Cowboy Bill Watts and told them that next week Williams would face Ron Garvin in a rematch and this time Bam Bam Bigelow would be in Ron Garvin's corner to make sure that Watts doesn't interfere. Watts said it was going to be all right as Dirty Dick Slater and Cowboy Bob Orton approached him and said it was time for their match. In the background, Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas' entrance theme could be heard as they made their way to the ring. Watts left with Slater and Orton.

Dirty Dick Slater and Cowboy Bob Orton (with Cowboy Bill Watts) defeated Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas in 3:53 by pinfall when Orton pinned Johnson after the piledriver.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Randy Savage, with Sensational Sherri Martel, who said anyone who stepped in his way would "pay the price, even if that price is a million dollars," referring to the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Randy Savage (with Sensational Sherri Martel), Ted DiBiase (with Virgil), and Jimmy Snuka wrestled to a no contest in 1:48 in a triple threat match after Terry Taylor interfered and attacked Ted DiBiase and Randy Savage with a steel chair and cleared them out of the ring. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that next week Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, Jimmy Snuka, and Terry Taylor would wrestle each other in a fatal fourway match next week on LCW Showdown.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway left his office and headed to the ring.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and said he was ashamed to be from California, a state that re-elected Arnold Schwarzenegger as their Governor. Calaway said his father was born in South Carolina, so by blood, he was a native South Carolinian. The audience booed as Calaway turned his attention to the broadcast booth and asked Jesse Ventura to join him in the ring. Ventura joined Calaway in the ring and Calaway pointed to the LegendsTron and footage of Jesse Ventura saying that Calaway made a mistake in insulting and kicked Arnold Schwarzenegger out of the arena at LCW Night of Horrors was a mistake. Back in the ring, Calaway said, "I made a mistake? I made a mistake!? You had better be careful or I'll make a mistake and stop signing your paychecks. Don't forget who your boss is around here." Ventura said he was just doing his job and Calaway slapped him across the face and yelled, "And I was just doing my job, making sure you don't get out of line. Now, go back to the broadcast booth or you can join The Ultimate Warrior in the unemployment line." Ventura stood seething, face to face with Calaway for a moment before turning around and returning to the broadcast booth.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone tried to talk with Jesse Ventura who wouldn't say a word. Schiavone tried to get the footage of what just happened showed again and Ventura stood up and got in Schiavone's face and said, "Don’t you dare. If you show that footage, I will kick you ass." Ventura then turned to the camera and said, "And if anyone in the production truck tries to show that footage again, I'm going to go out there and kick all your asses, too." Ventura sat back down and said, "As far as I'm concerned, that footage will never be seen again. Now, let's get on with the damn show."

The Hart Foundation defeated The Skyscrapers in 10:36 by submission when Bret Hart made Dan Spivey submit to the Sharpshooter in a match to determine the number one contenders for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships. During the match, LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Blackjacks came out to watch the match from the entrance way. After the match, The Blackjacks got in the ring and attacked both teams, knocking them out with the titles. After the match, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Blackjacks would face The Skyscrapers and The Hart Foundation in a triple threat match for the titles next week on Showdown.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie, The Bolsheviks, and The Iron Sheik. Al-Kassie said The Axis of Evil was still the most dominant force in the world of professional wrestling and with Sgt. Slaughter out of the picture, they were going to be stronger and more dominant than ever. He said Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov were together again as The Bolsheviks and The Iron Sheik was going to be a singles competitor and was going to get his first title shot next week when he faces LCW United States Champion Diamond Dalllas Page. Al-Kassie said The Iron Sheik was going to bring the United States title to Iran and melt it down to help Iran make a nuclear weapon. Al-Kassie said tonight the Bolsheviks were going to help The Axis of Evil start their reign of dominance when they destroy The US Express, Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo, tonight.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

The Bolsheviks (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie and The Iron Sheik) defeated The US Express in 7:21 by pinfall when Nikolai Volkoff pinned Mike Rotundo after The Iron Sheik poked Rotundo in the throat with his Iran flag pole. After the match, Rotundo was spitting up blood and had to be helped to the back by Windham.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway who invited California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to meet him in the ring on LCW Showdown next week. Calaway said, "When he left LCW Night of Horrors, he said he'd be back. Well, now I'm calling him on it. Come back, Arnie. I dare you."

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Demolition defeated The Fabulous Freebirds (with Buddy Roberts) in 3:11 by pinfall when Smash pinned Jimmy Garvin after the Decapitation Device. Before the match, Paul Jones and LCW World Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain introduced The Fabulous Freebirds as their choice for Demolition's opponents.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed The Yakuza Mafia (Keiji Muto, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Kensuke Sasaki, and their manager Genichiro Tenryu) about their return to LCW. Muto said they were going to make a bigger impact this time than they did last time and they were going to take not prisoners.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Don Muraco and The Orient Express (with Mr. Fuji and Killer Khan) wrestled Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Kensuke Sasaki (with Genichiro Tenryu and Keiji Muro) to a no contest in 4:18 after Muto and Khan interfered and the two teams began to brawl. During the brawl, Khan spit his green mist in Tenryu's eyes. Muta then blew his red mist in Khan's eyes and then dropkicked Fuji off the ring apron.

In the back, LCW International Champion Magnum TA and Stone Cold Steve Austin both headed to the ring.

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

LCW International Champion Magnum TA and Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestled to a time limit draw in 20:00. After the match, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that next week there would be a rematch between Magnum TA and Stone Cold Steve Austin, a best of three falls match next week on LCW Showdown.

Big fan of the site and your writings. My only critique is that after every match there seems to be a run in or someone getting attacked. Back in the days of most of the legends on here, this didn't happen with as much frequency. Other than that, great job.

One of the great things about Legends Championship Wrestling is that we feature legends (showcased in their prime) in modern situations. While we do know that we tend to feature quite a few run-ins, it is a great/easy way to either foward a feud or setup a new feud.
