In the back, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached Bobby Heenan, who was talking with the members of the Heenan Family: One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, and Ken Patera, and told him that he was going to give one of his men a chance to be in the Elimination Chamber match at Caged Heat to determine the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship. Heenan said that sounded great and said he would decide on who would be in the qualifying match tonight, but only after Bockwinkel announced who the opponent would be. Nick Bockwinkel said that was fair and said they would face Paul Orndorff. Bockwinkel said, "But I didn't say they were going to have to wrestle tonight. Tonight, if you want one of your men in the Elimination Chamber at Caged Heat, you're going to have to defeat Paul Orndorff in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match later tonight." Heenan looked shocked as Bockwinkel walked away. Gang, Bundy, and Patera reassured him that they would have his back. Bockwinkel returned and said, "Oh yeah, I forgot didn't I. If any one of you interfere, you'll all be fired. And I'll put you (pointing to Heenan) in a steel cage one on one with Paul Orndorff at Caged Heat." Heenan looked really concerned and defeated as he sat down and put his head in his hands.
LCW United States Champion The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) defeated Koko B. Ware in 3:22 by disqualification after Diamond Dallas Page interfered and attacked Honky, but Honky fought back and hit Page with the guitar. Meanwhile, in the ring, medical officials placed Kimberly on a stretcher and took her to the back. In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed The Honky Tonk Man and Jimmy Hart about what just happened and Honky referred to her as "collateral damage" and said she got in the way. As Page and Kimberly made their way through the back, they passed Honky and Jimmy Hart as they were being interviewed by Mooney. Honky began verbally taunting Page as LCW security officials appeared to keep Page and Honky apart. Page said Honky was lucky that security was keeping them apart or he'd tear him apart. Honky said if security wasn't here he'd take out Page just like he did his wife. Security stepped aside and Page chased Honky to the parking lot where Honky got in his car and drove away, but not before Page smashed the back window with a steel pipe. Page then threw down the pipe and went back to join his wife in the ambulance.
In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW World Tag Team Champions The Rock 'n' Roll Express about the number one contenders match and Ricky Morton said it didn't matter who won because they were going to defeat them just like all the other big and bad tag teams who had tried to stand in their way and take them down before.

Hey, jackass, up here. You're walking about here like you're the toughest guy in LCW. Well, let's get one thing straight. You and that little fruitcup (referring to Sir William) don't even know the definition of tough. You know, I made an appearance at a elementary school the other day and read 'The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.' Well, I thought of a version that would be perfect for you: 'Listen you little bastards and you shall hear of The Dynamite Kid, that little limey q*eer. On the twenty-seventh of August, in the year oh-six, he's gonna try to take my title and get beaten like a b*tch. At Caged Heat, just so you know, it ain't because of your change of heart, it's because Stone Cold said so."

Ventura said, "Wait a minute, didn't Calaway say he was going to select someone to take part in the Elimination Chamber? That would be seven people in the Elimination Chamber. How's that possible?" LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway appeared on the LegendsTron and said, "That's right, Jesse. I did say I was going to select someone to be in the Elimination Chamber. However, my pick won't enter the Elimination Chamber though until I tell him to go to the ring and that will be when I decide it's the ring time for him to go to the ring.

In the back, Virgil walked up to LCW Television Champion Bam Bam Bigelow and stared at him for a moment before spitting in his face. Virgil then ran from Bigelow and, when he turned the corner, Bigelow ran into a steel chair shot from Ted DiBiase.
