LCW Showdown Television Results 08.16.06

Showdown (August 16, 2006) live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.

In the parking lot, Bobby Heenan arrived to the arena with his remaining members of the Heenan Family: One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, and Ken Patera, one week after kicking Paul Orndorff out of the Heenan Family. Orndorff, in jeans and a t-shirt, approached them with a baseball bat, but LCW security officials stopped him before he could do anything. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel announced that tonight One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, and Paul Orndorff would face Paul Orndorff and two partners of his choice.

In the back, LCW United States Tag Team Champion Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard thanked The Skyscrapers and Theodore Long for helping them take care of their "light work" referring to Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo. The Skyscrapers said they weren't doing anything for Anderson and Blanchard, they were doing it for themselves and if they won they were coming for Anderson and Blanchard next. Anderson and Blanchard looked worried as The Skyscrapers headed to the ring.

Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo defeated The Skyscrapers (with Theodore Long) in 5:48 by pinfall when Windham pinned Spivey after the superplex. After the match, LCW United States Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, with James J. Dillon, attacked Windham and Rotundo and busted them wide open before leaving them bleeding in the ring.

In the back, Paul Orndorff approached Hacksaw Jim Duggan who immediately picked up his two-by-four and put it over his shoulder. Orndorff asked Duggan to be one of his partners tonight and Duggan said he didn't know if he could trust Orndorff who said he had changed. Duggan said he just couldn't trust Orndorff. Orndorff said he understood and thanked Duggan for his time and extended his hand for a handshake. Duggan didn't shake Orndorff's hand at first, but after a few moments shook Orndorff's hand.

LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff defeated Harley Race in 3:06 by disqualification after Big Van Vader interfered and attacked Koloff. After the match, Big Van Vader, from the entrance way, said, "Koloff, this weekend at the Caged Heat press conference, I'm going to have a very special surprise for you."

In the back, Paul Orndorff approached Billy Jack Haynes and asked him to be one of his partners tonight. Billy Jack Haynes said he didn't know and he wasn't sure, but said he would think about it. Orndorff thanked him and shook his hand.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Rock 'n' Roll Express defeated The Nasty Boys (with Missy Hyatt) in 5:37 by pinfall when Ricky Morton pinned Jerry Sags after the Powers of Pain, with Paul Jones, interfered and hit both Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags with powerslams.

In the back, Sean Mooney was interviewing Samuel L. Jackson about his movie, "Snakes on a Plane" which premiers August 18th, when The Missing Link and his manager Gary Hart interrupted the interview and offered Samuel L. Jackson a can of peanut brittle. Samuel L. Jackson said, "Snakes in a can. Like Snakes on a Plane. I get it. It's cute guys." Gary Hart said it was peanut brittle. It even said so on the label. Jackson said, "Ok, guys. I'll play along." Jackson opened the can and Hart and Missing Link mockingly screamed, "Ah, snakes! Snakes!" Jackson played along mockingly screaming "Ah, snakes! Snakes!" Hart and The Missing Link laughed and walked away. Jackson looked at Mooney and said, "Who were those crazy mutha f*ckas?"

Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon defeated LCW Television Champion Lex Luger, Baby Doll, and Madusa in 5:15 by pinfall when Luna Vachon pinned Baby Doll after the Luna Eclipse splash to win the LCW Television Championship. Last week, it was announced that if Luger, Madusa, or Baby Doll were pinned in this match by either Bigelow or Vachon, Luger would lose the title. After the match, Madusa and Luger blamed Baby Doll for the loss and they left the ring together without her.

In the back, Paul Orndorff approached Rowdy Roddy Piper and asked him to be his partner tonight and Piper said Orndorff must be out his mind, but he was out of his mind himself so they could probably work something out. Orndorff extended his hand for a hand shake and Piper said, "Man, we've been friends for so long we're kind of like brothers. And you know what, brothers don't shake hands, man. Brothers gotta hug." Piper threw his arms around Orndorff and then looked at him and said, "You're back on the winning team, man."

Jimmy Snuka defeated Killer Khan (with Mr. Fuji) in 6:20 by disqualification after Mr. Fuji interfered and threw salt in special guest referee Bob Backlund's eyes. After the match, Snuka chased Khan out of the ring with a steel chair while Backlund locked Mr. Fuji in the crossface chicken wing. Snuka returned to the ring as Backlund threw Fuji out of the ring. Khan returned to take Fuji to the back. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that next week on Showdown, Jimmy Snuka and Bob Backlund would face Killer Khan and Mr. Fuji in a tag team match.

Ricky Steamboat defeated Superstar Billy Graham in 7:25 by pinfall after a flying bodypress in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. After the match, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura reminded everyone that Magnum TA, Sgt. Slaughter, and Ricky Steamboat had already qualified for the Elimination Chamber.

Stan Hansen defeated Koko B. Ware in 2:17 by pinfall after the Lariat clothesline in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. After the match, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura reminded everyone that Magnum TA, Sgt. Slaughter, Ricky Steamboat, and Stan Hansen had already qualified for the Elimination Chamber. They announced that next week on Showdown that Dusty Rhodes would face Abdullah The Butcher in another Elimination Chamber match, but the sixth and final qualifying match hadn't been announced yet. Ventura said, "Something doesn’t smell right to me. I think something's going on."

LCW United States Champion The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) defeated Ron Garvin in 4:17 by pinfall after the Shake, Rattle, and Roll swinging neckbreaker. After the match, Honky Tonk was going to hit Garvin with the guitar, but Diamond Dallas Page came out with an electric guitar and smashed Honky Tonk's wooden acoustic guitar. Page then swing the guitar at Honky Tonk, but he ducked and slid out of the ring. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that guitar on a pole steel cage match at LCW Caged Heat. Bockwinkel announced that the winner would have to hit his opponent with one of the four guitars that would be on poles in the steel cage to win the match.

Paul Orndorff, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Billy Jack Haynes, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy, Ken Patera, and Bobby Heenan in 8:05 by pinfall when Orndorff pinned Ken Patera after the piledriver after Duggan knocked One Man Gang and King Kong Bundy out of the ring with the two-by-four and then hit Patera with the two-by-four into the piledriver. During the match, which was originally supposed to be a six man tag team match, Bobby Heenan interfered and hit Billy Jack Haynes with a pair of brass knuckles. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that the match would be a eight man tag team match and Bobby Heenan would be involved. At first Heenan seemed confident as Orndorff didn't have a fourth partner, but Hacksaw Jim Duggan came out and joined Orndorff's team.
