LCW Showdown Television Results 08.09.06

Showdown (August 9, 2006) live from the Savvis Center in St. Louis, MO.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway arrived with LCW Board of Directors members Killer Kowalski and Gene Kiniski. Calaway announced that Randy Savage would face Nikita Koloff again, but tonight’s match would be a non-title match. Calaway also announced that Magnum TA would face Ted DiBiase in qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber match at LCW Caged Heat on August 27th.

LCW United States Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, with their manager James J. Dillon, came out and invited Barry Windham to join them in the ring. Windham came out and joined his former Four Horsemen teammates in the ring. Anderson said it was really simple: “You don’t try to take something from a Horsemen, especially if you’re a Horsemen because then you already should know better. Last week, you challenged us for a shot our titles and we said we think about it. And we have. You’ve got the shot.” They shook Windham’s hand and when he turned around to leave, Blanchard grabbed the microphone and said, “One more thing,” and then blasted Windham in the head with the microphone when he turned around. Blanchard yelled, “You’ve got nobody. Who’ve you got now?” as Anderson, Blanchard, and Dillon continued to attack Windham until Mike Rotundo came out with a steel chair. Rotundo grabbed the microphone and said, “He’s got me and next week you two have us.”

In the back, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel and LCW security officials kept Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo from attacking Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. James J. Dillon said Windham and Rotundo hadn't even teamed together let alone won any matches or done anything worthy of being number one contenders. Dillon said they needed to earn their spot. Bockwinkel agreed and announced that next week on LCW Showdown Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo would face The Skyscrapers in a match to determine the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships. Anderson and Blanchard seemed pleased.

Jimmy Snuka wrestled Killer Khan (with Mr. Fuji) to a no contest in 2:55 after both men brawled into the audience and to the back.

In the back, Jimmy Snuka and Killer Khan, with Mr. Fuji, continued to feud as LCW security officials tried to separate them. LCW Heritage Champion Bob Backlund tried to intervene on Snuka's behalf, but Killer Khan blew the green mist in his eyes, blinding him. Khan and Mr. Fuji left as Snuka went to check on Backlund, but Backlund thought it was Khan and put him in the crossface chickenwing until LCW security officials could pull him off after telling him it wasn't Killer Khan. Medical officials check on both Backlund and Snuka.

Bam Bam Bigelow defeated LCW Television Champion Lex Luger (with Madusa and Baby Doll) in 8:06 by disqualification in a non-title match after Baby Doll and Madusa interfered and attacked Bigelow. As Luger lifted Bigelow for the Torture Rack, Luna Vachon ran to the ring, attacked both women and knocked them out of the ring as Bigelow slipped out of the Torture Rack and knocked Luger over the top rope with a clothesline. After the match, Luna jumped in Bigelow’s arms as the two celebrated their reunion.

In the back, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached Big Van Vader and told him if he interfered and told him if he interfered in the main event tonight between LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff and Randy Savage he would never get a shot at the LCW Universal Championship ever again. Bockwinkel walked away and Harley Race approached Big Van Vader and said, "He said you couldn’t interfere. He didn't say anything about me." Race and Vader laughed as they walked away.

In the back, LCW Television Champion Lex Luger, with Madusa and Baby Doll, challenged Bam Bam Bigelow and “that freaky b*tch” Luna Vachon to a handicapped match next week on LCW Showdown. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached them and told Luger, Baby Doll, and Madusa that if any one of them was pinned by Bigelow or Vachon, Bigelow would be the new LCW Television Champion. Luger agreed to the match and said it would never happen.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeated Doom (with Woman) in 6:27 by pinfall when Robert Gibson pinned Ron Simmons after The Powers of Pain interfered and attacked Doom while the referee was knocked out.

In the back, Sean Mooney approached Paul Jones and asked for an explanation for why The Powers of Pain interfered in the tag team match and Jones said it should be pretty obvious. Jones said The Powers of Pain deserved to be the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships and they were going to take out everyone standing in their way.

Before the match, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel caught Capt. Lou Albano and Don Muraco talking. Albano thought he was in trouble and started trying to talk his way out of it, but Bockwinkel said everything was fine and Albano would be allowed to continue managing Don Muraco.

Magnum TA defeated Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) in 7:15 by pinfall after the belly-to-belly suplex in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. After the match, Virgil tried to attack Magnum from behind, but Magnum caught Virgil and hit him with the belly-to-belly suplex as well.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura reminded everyone that Sgt. Slaughter and Magnum TA were two of the six men in the Elimination Chamber match at LCW Caged Heat on August 27th to determine the number one contender for the LCW Universal Championship. Schiavone announced that LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway had announced that next week there would be two Elimination Chamber qualifying matches: Superstar Billy Graham would face Ricky Steamboat and Stan Hansen would face Koko B. Ware. They also announced that LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel had ordered a rematch between Jimmy Snuka and Killer Khan next week with LCW Heritage Champion Bob Backlund as the special guest referee.

In the back, Brother Love made his way to the ring for his "Brother Love Show" interview segment with tonight's guest Bobby Heenan and The Heenan Family.

Brother Love came out for “The Brother Love Show” interview segment with the Heenan Family: King Kong Bundy, One Man Gang, Ken Patera, and Paul Orndorff. Heenan told Orndorff, “I took you to the LCW Universal Championship. (Capt. Lou) Albano couldn’t do it. These humanoids couldn’t do it. I took you to the gold. But when you lost that title, I knew you would never be a champion again. Because you just don’t have it in you. And you proved it two weeks ago at Beach Brawl. Well, simply put: I don’t have room in the Heenan Family for losers like you.” Orndorff grabbed Heenan by the lapels and began to yell at him. King Kong Bundy, One Man Gang, and Ken Patera ran into the ring and attacked Orndorff from behind. Gang, Bundy, and Patera assaulted Orndorff until he was busted wide open and bleeding. LCW security officials came out and dragged The Heenan Family out of the ring. As Heenan walked away he could be heard yelling, “You're no one now! You have no one now! You’re nothing!”

Randy Savage (with Sensational Sherri Martel) defeated LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff in 13:07 by pinfall after the flying elbow drop after Harley Race interfered and knocked Nikita Koloff out with brass knuckles while Sherri Martel distracted the referee in a non-title match.
