LCW Showdown Television Results 07.19.06

Showdown (July 19, 2006) live from E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Tonight's episode of LCW Showdown is dedicated to the memory of Bob Orton, Sr., (1929-2006).

LCW International Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin defeated Baron Von Raschke in 4:26 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner. After the match, Randy Savage came out and said he was looking forward to wrestling Austin at Beach Brawl on July 30th, because he was going to teach Austin what the madness was all about. Meanwhile, while Savage was badmouthing Austin from the entrance way, Sensational Sherri was sneaking into the ring from behind Austin. Sherri tried to attack Austin, but he turned around and hit her with the Stone Cold Stunner. Austin then kicked her out of the ring and she fell off the ring apron to the floor. Austin then said Savage was going to learn what Austin 3:16 means at Beach Brawl when Austin kicks his ass.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel who announced that tonight LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff would defend his title against Greg “The Hammer” Valentine.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express wrestled The Midnight Express to a no contest in 6:55 after Doom (with Woman), The Skyscrapers (with Theodore R. Long), and The Nasty Boys (with Missy Hyatt) interfered and brawled with The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and The Midnight Express. After the match, LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that the three interfering teams who believe they should be the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships would be banned from the building next week. However, their managers would not. Bockwinkel announced that Woman, Missy Hyatt, and Theodore R. Long would face each other in a triple threat match and that the winner’s team would face The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express at LCW Beach Brawl.

In the back, Woman approached Missy Hyatt, who was talking about Nick Bockwinkel’s announcement with The Nasty Boys, and asked is she could speak with her in private. Woman said they needed to form a union next week and do whatever it takes to eliminate Theodore R. Long. Woman said once he was eliminated they could take care of business. Missy Hyatt agreed that they needed to eliminate Long and said she was going to take care of business next week and make Woman her bitch. Woman laughed and said, “We’ll see,” before walking away.

Ron Garvin defeated LCW United States Championship The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) in 5:51 by pinfall after the Hands of Stone punch in a non-title match. After the match, Garvin grabbed the title belt and wrapped it around his waist and paraded around the ring with it as the crowd cheered. Garvin then dropped the title on Honky’s chest before leaving the ring.

LCW United States Tag Team Champions Demolition defeated The Islanders in 4:06 by pinfall when Demolition Ax pinned Tama after the Decapitation Device.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW Television Champion Lex Luger, with Baby Doll, who challenged Dusty Rhodes to a street fight at LCW Beach Brawl. Luger said he would have a match next week and invited Rhodes to come down to the ring and accept the challenge like a man face to face next week on Showdown.

Hillbilly Jim, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, George Steele defeated Bam Bam Bigelow, Don Muraco, and Steve Williams (with Capt. Lou Albano) in 9:34 by pinfall when Duggan pinned Bigelow after the three point stance clothesline. After the match, Muraco and Williams attacked Bigelow while Albano yelled at Bigelow calling him a loser and saying he was out of Albano’s Army.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Capt. Lou Albano, Steve Williams, and Don Muraco about attacking Bam Bam Bigelow and kicking Bigelow out of Albano’s Army. Albano said Bigelow had been holding them back and his bad karma and bad luck had been rubbing off on Williams and Muraco and bringing them down. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached them and said next week Capt. Lou Albano would meet Bam Bam Bigelow face to face on a special “The Brother Love Show” interview segment.

The Rougeau Brothers (with Jimmy Hart) defeated The Hart Foundation in 6:46 by pinfall when Jacques Rougeau pinned Jim Neidhart after Raymond Rougeau hit Neidhart with the megaphone from the top rope while Neidhart had Jacques pinned after the Hart Attack and while Bret Hart was holding Jimmy Hart on the ring apron. After the match, Bret Hart checked on Neidhart as The Rougeau Brothers and Jimmy Hart celebrated as they made their way up the entrance way to the back. Jimmy Hart said, “How do you like the megaphone now, baby?!”

Dynamite Kid defeated Dean Malenko in 4:34 by pinfall after the flying headbutt. After the match, Dynamite Kid kicked Malenko with a vicious kick to the ribs. Dynamite Kid then grabbed a steel chair and began to savagely attack Malenko with the steel chair. Malenko began to spit up blood. LCW security officials tried to come into the ring, but Dynamite Kid help them at bay with the steel chair while continuing to kick at Malenko. Chris Jericho came out to save Malenko, but Dynamite Kid blasted him with a steel chair that busted him wide open before he even got into the ring as he stood on the ring apron. Rowdy Roddy Piper came out with a steel chair and cleared Dynamite Kid out of the ring.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed a member of the medical staff who had spoken to the hospital that Dean Malenko was taken to after being attacked by Dynamite Kid. Malenko had three broken ribs, internal bleeding and a ruptured spleen. It was expected that Malenko would be out of action for at least 6 weeks.

LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff (with Ivan Koloff) defeated Greg “The Hammer” Valentine in 5:29 by pinfall after the Russian Sickle clothesline. After the match, Big Van Vader, with Harley Race, came out and attacked Koloff. Paul Orndorff, with Bobby Heenan, came out and joined the brawl which brought Ivan Koloff, who was outside the ring in Nikita Koloff’s corner, into the ring. Ivan Koloff helped Nikita fight off Vader and Orndorff. Nikita and Ivan clotheslined Vader and Orndorff over the top rope and out of the ring.
