LCW Showdown Television Results 07.05.06

Showdown (July 5, 2006) live from the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.

In the back, Paul Orndoff and Bobby Heenan arrived and Heenan demanded their rematch for the LCW Universal Championship. LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel approached them and said the match was on and the new LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff would defend his title against former champion Paul Orndorff tonight.

LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came out and announced that it was the dawning of a new era in Legends Championship Wrestling. Calaway called out everyone from the locker room and the LCW legends began to walk out of the locker room and surrounded the ring, stood in the entrance way, and on the entrance ramp. Calaway said, “Tonight, the men I see before me are dedicated legends. They’re here because they deserve to be. They’re here because they want to be here.” Calaway then introduced the new LCW Universal Champion Nikita Koloff who joined him in the ring. Calaway congratulated Koloff and then wished him luck in his rematch against Paul Orndorff tonight. Calaway said, “But there’s one more person who I really want to focus on tonight. You know, last week, Randy Orton’s checking out Hulk Hogan’s daughter Brooke’s new music video and this Monday night on Raw he’s talking about Brooke and challenging Hogan. You know, that kind of leads me to believe that Hogan’s going to abandon LCW and go back to McMahon and Company. And you know what? That’s fine, it’s all right. Looking around me at all these legends and looking at this man right here (Nikita Koloff), I think we’re going to do just fine with out you, Hogan. But I’m willing to give you a chance to prove that you’re a legend. Better yet, I’m going to give you a chance to prove that you even really belong here. Because, you know what, I’m kind of starting to have my doubts. So tonight, Hulk Hogan, I know you’re in town. You live just around the corner. So bring your ass down here and prove that you belong here. If you don’t show up, you can consider your contract null and void. If you decide to show up, I’m going to take care of the last piece of WWE or TNA crap left in LCW. I’m going to put you in a loser leaves LCW match against...well, why wait until SummerSlam to put you in the ring against an Orton. Tonight you’re going to go one on one with Cowboy Bob Orton in a loser leaves LCW match.” Orton looked on from the entrance way with a smile on his face.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeated LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys (with Missy Hyatt) in 7:55 by pinfall when Ricky Morton pinned Jerry Sags after a missile dropkick to win the LCW World Tag Team Championships. After the match, Missy Hyatt threw a fit.

In the back, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express celebrated their victory as they made their way through the parking lot. They got into their convertible and left the arena. As they left, Doom was seen with Woman in a corner of the parking lot looking on. Ron Simmons said, “Aww, damn! What the hell is that? How do those punks win the titles when we can’t even get a title shot.” LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel walked up behind them and said, “How about next week, boys?” Butch Reed turned around and said, “Who you calling boys?” Bockwinkel said, “Give me a break. You want the title shots or not?” Ron Simmons and Butch Reed looked at each other and then at Woman who said, “You bet your ass we do. Next week, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express are going to be rocked.” The Nasty Boys and Woman confronted them and Bockwinkel and Hyatt, “Why do they get a title shot? We haven’t even gotten our rematch yet.” Bockwinkel said they were right and Doom hadn’t really proved they deserved a title shot so next week Doom would face The Nasty Boys to determine the number one contenders. Missy Hyatt and Woman began to argue and brawl and Doom and The Nasty Boys had to pull the women apart. The Skyscrapers and Theodore Long walked on the scene as Doom and The Nasty Boys dragged Woman and Missy Hyatt away. Theodore Long said, “Looks like we might have to get involved in this number one contenders match next week, boys.” Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey smiled and then walked away with Long.

LCW Television Champion Lex Luger (with Baby Doll) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan in 5:22 by submission with the Torture Rack. After the match, Dusty Rhodes tried to attack Luger, but LCW security officials came out and held him back. Luger and Baby Doll made out with each other and laughed as Rhodes was dragged away by security.

In the back, Jimmy Hart apologized to The Hart Foundation for costing them the titles at LCW SuperClash. Jim Neidhart said it was all right and that they knew it was a mistake. Bret Hart then got in Jimmy Hart’s face and said, “Just make sure it never happens again.” They then walked away and headed to the ring.

LCW United States Tag Team Champions Demolition defeated The Hart Foundation (with Jimmy Hart) in 7:09 by disqualification after Jimmy Hart interfered and hit Demolition Ax with his megaphone in front of the referee while he had Jim Neidhart pinned after the Decapitation Device. After the match, an angry Bret Hart confronted Jimmy Hart and grabbed him by the lapels. Jimmy Hart dropped the megaphone and Neidhart picked it up and then dropped it to the mat before stomping on it and breaking it. Neidhart then yelled it Jimmy Hart, “It’s not going to happen again, is it?” The Hart Foundation then left the ring as Jimmy Hart followed behind apologizing all the way to the back.

LCW International Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin defeated Bam Bam Bigelow (with Capt. Lou Albano) in 5:11 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner after Albano accidentally tripped Bigelow from ringside. After the match, Albano didn’t apologize to Bigelow and actually blamed Bigelow for the loss. Albano told Bigelow to get to the back and Bigelow complied as his held down in shame.

In the back, an angry Hulk Hogan arrived and confronted LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel and demanded to speak with LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway. Bockwinkel said he would take Hogan to Calaway.

Chris Jericho defeated Barry Windham in 4:26 by disqualification after The Dynamite Kid came out and attacked Jericho. Dynamite Kid busted Jericho wide open and then hit him with a flying hearbutt. Windham handed Dynamite Kid a microphone and then Windham dragged Dynamite Kid to the back. The Dynamite Kid started to talk, but couldn’t be heard over all the boos because of attacking Chris Benoit and costing him a loser leaves LCW match to Barry Windham at LCW SuperClash. The Dynamite Kid said, “I’ve been sitting in the back like a bitch for the past few months getting ignored. Well, not anymore. It ends now. I’m not going to let anyone else pass by me. I’m taking what’s mine. I made an example out of Benoit at SuperClash. He looked up to me, I was his hero, and I beat the sh*te out of him just to prove a point. I’m not going to be anybody’s bitch anymore. I'm not going to stand in anyone's corner anymore. I'm not going to stand in the shadows. I'm a damn legend. I’m not putting up with anyone’s sh*te anymore. The guys that call me their hero are passing me by. Well, not anymore. The guys that say I’m the best ever in the business are passing me by. Not anymore.” At this point, the crowds boos were deafening. “I made the British Bulldogs. Davey Boy Smith sat on the sidelines while I did all the work. He went to the WWF and became a legend with the name The British Bulldog, but if anyone was the bulldog in The British Bulldogs. It was me and what did I get for it…NOTHING! Well, not anymore. It’s all going to be mine and I’m going to knock down anyone who tries to stop me. And as for all you American pieces of sh*te, well you can just kiss my ass.”

In the back, Hulk Hogan knocked on the door of LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway’s office. Calaway welcomed Hogan and LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel into his office. Hogan said he was a legend and was dedicated to Legends Championship Wrestling and he would prove it tonight. Calaway got in Hogan’s face and said, “Hogan, I hope you do. Because if you win this match tonight and screw me and leave to go to WWE anyway, I’ll welcome you back when you’re done with your WWE obligations, but I promise that when you return I will make your life a living hell.” Hogan just stared at Calaway without saying a word.
