LCW Showdown Television Results 05.06.09

LCW Showdown Television Results (May 6, 2009) live from the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester, NY.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.

LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA came out with LCW Heritage Champion Nikita Koloff and Billy Jack Haynes and got in the ring. Magnum looked at Koloff and then looked at Koloff again and back at Haynes. Magnum jokingly asked Koloff what was wrong with the picture. Haynes asked for the microphone and said that he wanted what they had: some gold! Haynes said he was going to get some at LCW Uprising this Sunday when he beats LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard. Barry Windham, his manager JJ Dillon, Butch Reed, his manager Slick, Blanchard, and his valet Baby Doll came out and from the entrance stage Blanchard challenged Magnum, Koloff, and Haynes to a six-man tag team match in tonight’s main event. Magnum, Koloff, and Haynes accepted the challenge.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed one half of the LCW World Tag Team Champions, the Raging Bull Manny Fernandez, and asked Fernandez about his tumultuous relationship with Terry Funk. Fernandez said he respected Funk and that wouldn’t stop him from kicking his ass if he needed to. He said he was sure Funk felt the same way. Fernandez said tonight wasn’t about he and Funk it was about “that big pussy” Big Van Vader taking offense to Fernandez hitting him with the title belt last week on LCW Showdown. Fernandez said that if someone gets in his way he’s going to knock him down, no matter how big or bad they think they are. “At the end of the day, everyone in Legends Championship Wrestling needs to look at my past and remember in the future, daddy, that I’m the biggest and baddest dog on this block,” he said before walking away.

Diamond Dallas Page came out and reminded everyone that because Macho Man Randy Savage and Bill Goldberg couldn’t control their emotions and let their match get out of control last week on LCW Showdown in their opening round match in the King of the Legends tournament, he automatically received a bye. Page said it was further proof that he was already the King of the Legends. Page joined Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko in the broadcast booth as the show went to commercial.

After the match, in the broadcast booth, Diamond Dallas Page threw a fit and threw his headset down on the booth before walking away as Williams, in the ring, challenged him to get in the ring with him. As medical officials escorted Abdullah the Butcher to the back as Williams and Page exchanged words as Page walked to the back.

After the match, Mr. Fuji hit Slaughter with his cane, but Slaughter didn’t feel it and grabbed Fuji by the lapels and pushed him into the corner. Meanwhile, Stan Hansen came out and hit Slaughter with the Lariat and then challenged him to a Finishing Move match at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view this Sunday in which the winner must hit his finishing move on his opponent before attempting a pinfall. “You want to pull a move out of mothballs, then I’ll have to be the one to put it back in storage,” Hansen said before walking out of the ring.

In the back, Sean Mooney approached an irate General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie as medical officials wrapped Abdullah’s head in bandages after Ken Patera threw a fireball in his face earlier in the evening. Akbar and Al-Kassie challenged Patera to an Inferno match at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view this Sunday adding, “You play with fire, but you’re going to get burned…again!”

During the match, outside the ring, Adnan tried to throw a fireball at Patera, but he hit Al-Kassie instead. After the match, Patera grabbed a microphone and accepted Akbar’s challenge to face Abdullah the Butcher in an Inferno match as Akbar helped Al-Kassie to the back.

In the back, LCW Television Champion Wildfire Tommy Rich was with Missy Hyatt, wearing her referee’s tube top and short skirt, Hollywood John Tatum, and Austin Idol. They were making their way through the arena corridor on their way to the ring for Idol’s match with Koko B. Ware when LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff approached them and said, “I think we all know how important tonight’s match between Austin Idol and Koko B. Ware is going to be. Idol, if you win, you will be the number one contender for the LCW Television Championship at LCW Uprising and, as much as I’d love to see a rematch between the two of you again, I think we all know what happened the last time you two had to wrestle each other. Rich, last week, you interfered and impacted the outcome of the match between Koko B. Ware and Hollywood John Tatum. Now, while it wasn’t the impact you intended to make and let to an unintended outcome, I know history is bound to repeat itself, especially tonight. So tonight, Rich, Tatum, you two can hang back because you’re banned from ringside.” Rich and Tatum threw a fit, but Hyatt told them to calm down and reassured them that she would take care of everything. Hyatt walked away with Idol as the show went to commercial.

Ware hit Idol with a missile dropkick, covered Idol for the pinfall, and Hyatt made a fast count. Hyatt quickly left ringside as Ware celebrated and a confused Idol reacted to what just happened.

In the back, an irate Austin Idol confronts Missy Hyatt about making the fast count on him during his match with Koko B. Ware. Hyatt said she did it for Hyatt International and if he couldn’t understand that then maybe he didn’t belong in the group anymore. Hyatt stormed off leaving Idol to fume.

Bill Goldberg and Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) defeated Paul Orndorff and Macho Man Randy Savage in 9:58 by pinfall when Sullivan pinned Orndorff after Goldberg hit Orndorff with the spear. After the match, Savage hit Goldberg with a flying double axehandle and the two men brawled into the crowd as security officials ran into the crowd to separate them and ran into the ring to pull Sullivan off of Orndorff. LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff came out and announced that since Bill Goldberg and Randy Savage couldn’t keep their action in the ring, they would face each other at LCW Uprising this Sunday in a street fight match!

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Big Van Vader (with Terry Funk) defeated Manny Fernandez (with One Man Gang) in 7:26 by pinfall after the powerbomb Funk tripped Fernandez as he was running to hit Vader with the Flying Burrito. After the match, Funk grabbed a microphone and said, “Our issues clearly aren’t over, yet. Clearly, we have some issues left to settle. So, why don’t we settle them this Sunday? As a matter of fact, why don’t we get our tag team partners, put the titles on the line, and settle them this Sunday. Everyone’s saying there’s too many damn titles in this damn company anyway and as far as I’m concerned, there’s only room for one tag team champions. So why don’t we just unify these titles. Why don’t we prove who the best tag team in Legends Championship Wrestling really is?” From the entrance ramp, Fernandez accepted the challenge.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed LCW United States Champion Rick Martel about the flirting last week between he and Dark Journey, the valet of Iceman King Parsons, his challenger for the title at the LCW Uprising pay-per-view this Sunday. Martel said clearly she was a beautiful woman with class, but more importantly, with taste. He said she knew a good looking man when she saw one and she knew he was a winner, not a loser like Iceman King Parsons. He invited her to come to ringside to watch his match tonight with Jim Powers.

My Side of the Story: Magnum TA vs. Nikita Koloff

{COMMERCIAL BREAK}

Barry Windham (with JJ Dillon), LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll), and Butch Reed (with Slick) defeated LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA, Billy Jack Haynes, and LCW Heritage Champion Nikita Koloff in 8:02 by pinfall when Windham pinned Magnum after Koloff accidentally hit Magnum with a Russian Sickle clothesline while attempting to hit Windham with the Russian Sickle. Reed hit Koloff with a running shoulder tackle which knocked Koloff out of the ring as Windham covered Magnum for the pinfall and the win.

In the back, someone grabbed cameraman Jackie Crockett and said, “Follow me.” Crockett followed the man and the audience could only see his back as he approached a corner. When he turned the corner, it could be seen that the cameraman and the man he was following were now following LCW General Manager Eric Bischoff. The man got closer to Bischoff, grabbed him, and threw him, head first, into a wall. The man leaned down and said to Bischoff, "You won't be needed anymore." The man’s face still couldn’t be see, but he turned his head to the camera and it was former LCW Chairman of the Board and LCW Founder Christian Calaway. Calaway looked into the camera, put his finger to his mouth, said, “Shhhh,” and smiled as the audience exploded and the show went off the air.
