LCW Showdown Television Results 11.05.08

LCW Showdown Television Results (November 5, 2008) live from the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, FL.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown as "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance, the LCW Showdown theme song, played in the background and as fireworks exploded all over the arena.


Butch Reed came out and talked about winning the Sam Muchnick Memorial Battle Royal at the LCW Showdown at the Chase VI television special last Saturday (click here for the complete results) and said he was going to win the LCW Universal Championship tonight from Magnum TA and he was going to do it for the same reason and the same person that he won the battle royal for, Slick. Slick came out and joined Reed on the entrance ramp and said he was proud of Butch Reed and they hadn’t forgotten what Big Van Vader did to him and after Reed wins the LCW Universal Championship tonight they were going to go after Vader.

The Long Riders (with James J. Dillon) defeated the Young Stallions in 3:21 by pinfall when Bass pinned Powers after the Texas Gourdbuster. After the match, Jim Powers and Paul Roma argued about the loss, for which Roma blamed Powers. Powers walked away and Roma pulled him back into the ring and they continued arguing and almost came to blows, but Roma backed off and Powers went to leave the ring only to be pulled back into the ring and attacked by Roma who hit Powers with a neckbreaker before leaving the ring.

In the back, The Raging Bull Manny Fenandez was shown making his way through the arena corridor on his way to the ring to face LCW International Champion Big Van Vader when he was approached by Harley Race who asked Fernandez if he’d like a little help tonight. Fernandez said he didn’t need anybody’s help, but he’d be honored to have Race in his corner tonight. The two men shook hands and continued walked together down the corridor as the show went to commercial.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Paul Roma about turning on his Young Stallions partner, Jim Powers. Roma said, “That pathetic piece of crap held me back for years twenty years ago and I gave him a second chance when we came to Legends Championship Wrestling and he’s been holding me down ever since. Well not anymore! It’s over! The Young Stallions are dead. I took that weak link and I just shot him in the head and if he gets back up I’ll do it again until he’s dead.” Powers suddenly appeared and tried to attack Roma, but Roma fought him off and the two brawled until security officials arrived to separate the two men.

The Raging Bull Manny Fernandez (with Harley Race) defeated LCW International Champion Big Van Vader in 11:20 by disqualification after LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA interfered and brawled with Fernandez. After the match, Fernandez brawled with Magnum as Vader brawled with Race outside the ring. Security officials came out and separated the four men as the show went to commercial.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Superstar Billy Graham, with his manager Sir Oliver Humperdink and a bandage on his forehead, about being attacked by Kendo Nagasaki last Saturday at the LCW Showdown at the Chase VI television special
(click here for the complete results). Graham said he didn’t know where Nagasaki came from, but he knew who was going to send him back to Japan.

Kendo Nagasaki (with Mr. Fuji) defeated Superstar Billy Graham (with Sir Oliver Humperdink) in 5:21 by pinfall after a savate kick. After the match, Mr. Fuji pulled a kendo stick from under the ring and went to hand it to Nagasaki, but Humperdink saw this and tried to intercept the transfer only to be hit by Fuji with the kendo stick. Fuji threw the kendo stick into Nagasaki who blasted Graham with a solid shot to the forehead that opened up the cut on Graham’s forehead. As Nagasaki left with Fuji, Humperdink, holding his head, grabbed a microphone and slowly got into the ring and tried to help Graham to his feet. Humperdink challenged Fuji to a match next week on LCW Showdown.

In the back, One Man Gang attacked LCW International Champion Big Van Vader and the two men brawled until security officials appeared and separated the two men.

LCW United States Champion Ken Patera (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie and General Skandor Akbar) defeated Superfly Jimmy Snuka in 6:19 by pinfall after a powerslam. Before the match, from the broadcast botth, Tony Schiavone noted that this was a rematch from last week’s edition of LCW Showdown in which Snuka beat Patera by disqualification after Backlund interference.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Austin Idol who said he was worried about losing his hair at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on November 30th. LCW Television Champion Brutus Beefcake approached him and told him not to worry because when Wildfire Tommy Rich beats him at LCW Redemption Day on Sunday, November 30th, Beefcake would be proud and honored to shave Idol bald. Beefcake said he saw Rich’s hair after Idol shaved Rich’s head and told Idol he needed to stick the strutting and stay away from the cutting. Beefcake told Idol to leave the cutting to him and he reassured Idol that when he loses to Rich at LCW Redemption Day he would take special care in shaving Idol’s head job.

LCW Television Champion Brutus Beefcake defeated the Universal Heartthrob Austin Idol in 5:22 by disqualification when Macho Man Randy Savage and The Genius interfered and attacked Beefcake. Wildfire Tommy Rich came out to even the odds and with Beefcake he cleared Savage, Poffo and Idol out of the ring.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the Destruction Crew who said they were sad that Demolition weren’t in the arena tonight because they were looking forward to eliminating Demolition before their street fight match at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on Sunday, November 30th. Wayne Bloom said they wanted the night off on November 30th and they were just going to have to wait until next week to make sure they get the night off on November 30th.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage of the Nasty Boys challenging the Bolsheviks to a match last week on LCW Showdown for the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on November 30th only to be attacked by Abdullah the Butcher and the Iron Sheik on their way to the ring. In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the Nasty Boys who said they were going to beat Abdullah the Butcher and the Iron Sheik who attacked them last week and then they were going to beat the Bolsheviks at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view to become the new LCW United States Tag Team Champions and bring the titles back to America.

In the back, LCW Television Champion Brutus Beefcake and Wildfire Tommy Rich approached LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel and asked for a tag team match next week on LCW Showdown with Macho Man Randy Savage and the Universal Heartthrob Austin Idol. Bockwinkel asked Beefcake and Rich what they were going to do about The Genius Lanny Poffo who he was sure would be at ringside. Beefcake said Poffo wouldn’t be a problem and reassured Bockwinkel that they’d take care of Poffo and that he wouldn’t be a problem.

The Nasty Boys defeated Abdullah the Butcher and the Iron Sheik (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 4:37 by pinfall when Brian Knobbs pinned the Iron Sheik after Sags hit Sheik with a DDT. After the match, the LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Bolsheviks came out and joined Abdullah and Shiek in attacking the Nasty Boys.

At ringside, security officials tried to remove Lady Amazon from ringside, but she refused to leave. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and said she would have to leave he would cancel Stan Hansen’s title shot against LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich at the LCW Redemption Day pay-per-view on Sunday, November 30th. Amazon said Bockwinkel coouldn’t do that and she couldn’t make her leave because she was a paying member of the audience and produced a ticket from her pocket. Bockwinkel said he couldn’t make her leave, but warned her not to interfere because as a paying member of the audience any interference on her part could lead to her ejection from the arena.

Stan Hansen and Dr. Death Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) defeated LCW Heritage Champion Kevin Von Erich and Nikita Koloff when Hansen pinned Von Erich after the Lariat clothesline as Williams and Koloff brawled outside the ring. After the match, security officials came out and separated Koloff and Williams as Hansen left with Lady Amazon through the crowd.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Strike Force about winning a shot at the LCW World Tag Team Championships at LCW Showdown at the Chase VI television special last Saturday

Dennis Condrey appeared and said Strike Force’s win was a fluke and they were the number one contenders only because the Hart Foundation couldn’t get the job done and they going to prove it. Condrey said, “Actually, tonight, I’m going to prove it when Randy Rose and I kick your asses.”

Strike Force defeated the Original Midnight Express (with LCW World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express) in 5:44 by submission when Martel made Rose submit to the Boston Crab. After the match, the Midnight Express tried to attack Martel and Santana, but they managed to fight off the Midnight Express who left the title belts in the ring when making their exit. Strike Force picked up the title belts as Dennis Condrey demanded they be returned. Santana and Martel returned the titles saying it didn’t matter since the titles would be theirs soon anyway.

In the back, the Hart Foundation approached Strike Force and told them that they were impressed by Strike Force’s victory over the Original Midnight Express and they wished Strike Force all the best. Rick Martel got in Bret Hart’s face and said, “How about we do just that next week on LCW Showdown.” Hart agreed and the four men shook hands and agreed to the match. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel appeared and said the match would only happen if Strike Force agreed to put their title shot on the line. Strike Force said they were tired of proving themselves. Martel said they beat the Original Midnight Express and they would beat the Hart Foundation next week and then any doubts would be put to rest when they beat the Midnight Express to win the LCW World Tag Team Championships.

LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA defeated Butch Reed (with Slick) in 12:32 by pinfall after the belly-to-belly suplex. After the match, Slick tried to attacked Magnum with his cane, but Magnum grabbed the cane and threw it out of the ring and grabbed Slick by the lapels as Slick tried to break free. Manny Fernandez came out, picked up the cane and got into the ring and broke the cane across Magnum’s back and then locked Magnum in the triangle choke as Reed stomped at Magnum. Big Van Vader came out with a steel chair and cleared Fernandez and Reed out of the ring. LCW General Manager Nick Bockwinkel came out and announced that on next week’s edition of LCW Showdown, Magnum TA and Big Van Vader would team to face Manny Fernandez and Butch Reed.

Please bring back the Women's Championship. Don't let Madusa ruin the legacy of yet another title.
