LCW Showdown Television Results 12.26.07

LCW Showdown Television Results (December 26, 2007) live from the Halton Arena in Charlotte, NC.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Showdown and they discussed the LCW Endgame pay-per-view last Sunday. Click here or visit LCWEndgame.com for the complete results.

From ringside, ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta introduced the new LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett, who came out and announced the main event for tonight's edition of Showdown: a rematch from
last Sunday's LCW Endgame, LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Randy Savage…in a steel cage match! Crockett went to leave the ring, but LCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel (who, until Crockett was name Chairman had been the interim Chairman of the Board) came out, got in the ring, and aggressively took the microphone from Crockett. Bockwinkel said, "For a little over two years, I've been the Commissioner here in Legends Championship Wrestling. I've been responsible for what happens here on LCW Showdown on behalf of the LCW Chairman of the Board and the LCW Board of Directors. Now, a couple of weeks ago, when then-Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway left the company and informed everyone he was going to name his successor, naturally I assumed I would be a candidate. Well, you know what they say happens when you assume, but the only problem is that, while Calaway is sitting at his palatial mansion in Atlanta, GA, I'm here on LCW Showdown looking like an ass. See, in Calaway's absence, I was named the Interim Chairman of the Board and not only had to perform the daily duties of that position, but also still had to still perform the duties of the Commissioner and I did both flawlessly. But when it came time for Calaway to name the new Chairman of the Board, my name wasn't even considered. It wasn't even mentioned as a possibility. So, are far as I'm concerned if, after two years as Commissioner, as a dedicated, loyal and hardworking member of management here in Legends Championship Wrestling, if I haven't proved myself to be qualified to be the Chairman of the Board, well then, I officially resign as Commissioner..." Bockwinkel got in Crockett's face and continued, "…effectively immediately." Bockwinkel then dropped the microphone and walked out. As Bockwinkel made his way up the entrance ramp, Crockett picked up the microphone and said, "Well, Mr. Bockwinkel, I'm sorry to see you go, but I'm also sorry to remind you that you're under contract as a performer." Bockwinkel, having reached the entrance stage, turned around to listen to Crockett. "Now, Mr. Calaway trusted in you and bestowed upon you the position of Commissioner, but since you've just resigned that position, you've relegated yourself to a position of another type of performer, a position I believe you're quite familiar with…that of a wrestler. And tonight, you will be in this ring doing what some might you do best…wrestling." Bockwinkel didn't say a word and just turned around and walked away.

In the back, Sean Mooney approached the new LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett who was on his cell phone. Crockett hung up the phone and Mooney asked Crockett about who would replace Nick Bockwinkel as the new LCW Commissioner since Bockwinkel resigned tonight. Crockett said, "Mr. Mooney, first things first. First of all, tonight, former AWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel will return to the ring tonight as an in-ring performer when he the faces former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jack Brisco. Second of all, as for the new LCW Commissioner, there won't be a replacement because as of this moment the position of Commissioner is defunct. The role of Commissioner will be replace by that of a General Manager. And I just got off the phone with the new General Manager and he will be here next week on LCW Showdown." Crockett walked away.

Nick Bockwinkel defeated Jack Brisco in 4:10 by pinfall with a backslide with his feet on the ropes. After the match, Brisco tried to argue the decision with the referee saying that Bockwinkel had his feet on the ropes, but Bockwinkel played innocent acting like he didn't know what Brisco was talking about. Brisco finally gave up the argument and went to leave the ring but, as he was leaving the ring, Bockwinkel attacked Brisco from behind, grabbed him, pulled him back into the ring, and hit him with the piledriver. Bockwinkel then left the ring as the audience booed and as the referee checked on the fallen Brisco.

In the back, Paul Orndorff and Magnum TA were arguing about who should get the title shot against LCW International Champion Don Muraco at the LCW Ascension pay-per-view on January 20th. Orndorff argued that he was a former International Champion and was screwed out of the title and hadn't gotten a fair shot at the title since losing it. Magnum said he defeated Big Van Vader in a number one contenders match
last Sunday at the LCW Endgame pay-per-view. LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett appeared and said, "How about we do this: Magnum TA, tonight you'll get your title shot on LCW Showdown and Paul Orndorff you'll get your shot at the LCW Ascension pay-per-view on January 20th." Orndorff said he was all right with that and Magnum said he was fine with it as well and the two men shook hands and then walked away.

In the back, LCW Television Champion Manny Fernandez thanked Jesse Ventura for having his back against The Brothahood
last Sunday night at the LCW Endgame pay-per-view. Ventura said if Fernandez really wanted to thank him he would give him a shot at the LCW Television Championship. Fernandez thought about it for a second and then said, "You've got it!" Fernandez extended his hand and Ventura shook his hand before walking away.

Tom Zenk defeated Dr. Death Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) in 3:18 by disqualification after Williams refused to release a chokehold as Watts yelled at him from ringside, "Choke him out! Choke him out, Dr. Death!" As Watts was telling Williams to choke Zenk, he was also taunting Sunshine, who was sitting in the front row and encouraging Zenk during the match. After Zenk was knocked out and Williams was disqualified, Watts got in Sunshine's face and said to her, "What do you think of your little boyfriend now?" Sunshine slapped Watts across the face. As Watts charged at her, several fans at ringside and the referee protected Sunshine as an incensed Watts tried to get at her.

In the back, LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett approached Cowboy Bill Watts, who was with Dr. Death Steve Williams, and asked what the point was of having Dr. Death Steve Williams choke out Tom Zenk earlier. Watts said he didn't want his time or Dr. Death's time wasted with losers like Tom Zenk. Watts said Crockett knew what he wanted and Crockett was going to deliver it to him, "Or you're next." Williams stepped up and stared at Crockett until he walked away. Watts laughed as Crockett walked away. Watts said, "It's only a matter of time now. It's only a matter of time."

Jake Roberts appeared live via satellite and was interviewed by Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko from the broadcast booth. Roberts said he had returned to the rehab facility after leaving last Sunday night to take care of a personal issue at the LCW Endgame pay-per-view with Baby Doll. Roberts thanked the fans for their support during this difficult time and he promised them that he would return in two and a half months with his mind right and his body clean. Roberts said he would be 100%, but his venom would be even deadlier. He said in the past he had surrounded himself with enablers, weak people who made him feel like a hero, but he wasn’t a hero. He said until he beat his demons he was nothing more than a liar and a coward. Schiavone then asked Roberts why he attacked Baby Doll last Sunday night at the LCW Ascension pay-per-view and Roberts said, "You know, Tony, a friend is the worst enemy you can have because you trust that person. If you don't trust anyone, they can't hurt you. Ever since the beginning of time, the snake has been around. Ask Eve, right? She trusted one. The problem is, this time the snake trusted Eve and got bitten. But what Eve forgot is that this snake will most defiantly bite back." Schiavone thanked Roberts for his time and wished him the best on his recovery.

In the parking lot, The Brothahood arrived in a limousine. As they exited the limousine, Koko B. Ware was arguing with LCW Heritage Champion Butch Reed and Dark Journey was trying to calm down Ware. Ware stormed off and Dark Journey chased after him trying to get him to come back. Iceman King Parsons said, "Let him go. That fool cost me the LCW Television Championship last Sunday. As far as I'm concerned, you all cost me the title, because when I needed you to pick up the ball after he dropped it, none of you were there for me." Parsons then stormed off. Slick looked at Atlas and Johnson and said, "You guys got something to say?" Atlas said, "As a matter of fact, I do. First of all, let's talk about you not being in our corner last Sunday night." Atlas then turned to Johnson and said, "And then, if that wasn't bad enough, let's talk about you costing us the title because you're an old man with bad aim. If you hadn't hit me, we'd still be LCW World Tag Team Champions right now. All I know is this: if it happens again, you can find yourself a new partner." Atlas then walked away as Johnson followed after him trying to tell him it was an accident. Slick then looked at LCW Heritage Champion Butch Reed and said, "You got anything for me?" Reed looked at Slick and said, "I've still got my gold. I'm good to go." Slick said, "You know, I've actually got something to say to you. I can backtrack the first crack in the Brothahood to you putting your lips on Dark Journey. I've seen you guys making eyes at Dark Journey. I don't know what's going on with you guys or what isn't going on with Keep your hands, lips and whatever else you might have on her off of her." Reed said, "Slick, man, I've got nothing going on with Dark Journey. But let's get one thing straight: what goes on in that ring is your business, but what I do outside the ring isn't!" Reed walked off leaving Slick alone and Slick said, "What the hell am I doing wrong?" Slick then stormed away after slamming the limousine door shut.

In the back, former LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page was talking with Scott Hall and Harley Race was walking by. Page shook hands with Hall and went to turn around he bumped into Race and knocked his coffee cup out of his hand. Page apologized and Race said it was all right, but glared at Page as he walked away.

LCW International Champion Don Muraco (with Mr. Fuji) defeated Magnum TA in 8:01 by disqualification. During the match, the referee was accidentally knocked out and Mr. Fuji interfered and went to hit Magnum with the cane, but Magnum caught the cane and broke it in half. Meanwhile, Paul Orndorff interfered and hit Muraco with the piledriver. Orndorff jumped out of the ring and chased after Fuji who jumped out of the ring to get away from Magnum. When the referee regained consciousness he saw Magnum with the broken cane and a fallen Muraco and called for a disqualification assuming that Magnum hit Muraco with the cane, giving the win to Muraco by disqualification. After the match, from the entrance stage, Orndorff apologized for the misunderstanding and called it his bad. Orndorff said, "I want you to know that that was a mistake. I really didn't care who won because either way, the outcome was the same: I was going to get my title shot at the LCW Ascension pay-per-view on January 20th. However, now, it's a little better for me because now I get to use this…" Two men rolled out a large, black metal cage. Orndorff continued, "I get to use this to lock Mr. Fuji in because, Muraco, the I Quit match is still on. And while Fuji is locked in the cage, I am going to do everything I can to not only win the LCW International Championship, but to make Don Muraco scream, 'I Quit!'"

LCW United States Champion Tully Blanchard came out with Baby Doll to celebrate his win over Diamond Dallas Page for the title at
the LCW Endgame pay-per-view last Sunday. Blanchard said it didn't matter how it happened, "All that matters is that it happened and I once again have gold around my waist and Baby Doll by my side." Blanchard added, "Baby Doll and I might have my differences from time to time, but at the end of the day, she knows where she belongs and she always comes back home." Blanchard handed the microphone to Baby Doll and she said, "And as for Jake Roberts…Jake, when you do come back in three months, I'll be sure to have a bottle of Jack and an eight-ball waiting for you so you can feel right at home." The audience booed as Blanchard and Baby Doll laughed.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated LCW United States Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) in 5:18 by disqualification after Big Van Vader, with his manager Harley Race, interfered and attacked Diamond Dallas Page. Vader hit Page with two powerbombs and then a moonsault before Race said, "That's good enough," and pulled Vader out of the ring. From the broadcast booth, Schiavone said, "All that just for bumping into Harley Race?"

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed The Rock 'n' Roll Express about being undefeated since returning to Legends Championship Wrestling and defeating The Powers of Pain at t
he LCW Endgame pay-per-view last Sunday to become the number one contenders for the LCW United States Tag Team Championships. Ricky Morton said they didn't really care about the title right now because they were more concerned about what Kevin Sullivan and Luna Vachon were doing with Lady Amazon, who was kidnapped by Sullivan and Vachon last Sunday night at the LCW Endgame pay-per-view.

LCW Television Champion Manny Fernandez wrestled Jesse Ventura to a no contest in 4:09 after Iceman King Parsons interfered and attacked both men. Fernandez and Ventura started to gain the upper hand and started to double team Parsons and Koko B. Ware came running out with Dark Journey, but didn't get in the ring and watched as Fernandez and Ventura double teamed Parsons before throwing him out of the ring at Ware's feet. LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett came out and announced a tag team match featuring Fernandez and Ventura against Ware and Parsons to start immediately. Ware helped Parsons to his feet and the two men ran into the ring and started brawling with Fernandez and Ventura as the show went to commercial.

LCW Television Champion Manny Fernandez and Jesse Ventura defeated Koko B. Ware (with Dark Journey) and Iceman King Parsons by pinfall when Fernandez pinned Parsons after the Flying Burrito. Towards the end of the match, Parsons was on the ring apron and kept flirting with Dark Journey who was on the floor. When Ware wanted to tag in, Parsons was turned around and talking to Dark Journey. Ware slapped Parsons on the back, tagging him into the match. After Parsons got into the ring, Ware grabbed Dark Journey and stormed off, yelling at her as she tried to pull him back to the ring.

In the back, Slick was shown making his way through the arena corridor and, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone said, "Slick is going to try and regroup the Brothahood tonight on 'The Brother Love Show' and that's coming up next! How's he going to do it after what just happened between Koko B. Ware and Iceman King Parsons? Stay with us everybody!"

Brother Love came out for "The Brother Love Show" interview segment and introduced his guest: Slick, who came out, joined Brother Love in the ring, and called out all the members of The Brothahood: LCW Heritage Champion Butch Reed, Iceman King Parsons, Koko B. Ware, who came out with Dark Journey, and former LCW World Tag Team Champions Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson. After all five men were in the ring, Slick said, "I brought together the most dominant force in professional wrestling today. I assembled together the five most dominant black legends in the history of professional wrestling. And what do I have to show for it: more fighting amongst yourselves than with the legends in the back who are trying to hold you down and hold you back. A month ago, every man in The Brothahood had gold around his waist. As I promised, by the end of the year, every man would have gold around his waist and I made good on my promise. But as we approach the end of the year, I only see gold around one man's waist and that's Butch Reed." Slick continued, "This isn't about who wasn't there for who or who dropped the ball. It isn't about who's flirting with who or who's sleeping with who. Look, Dark Journey is Koko B. Ware's girl and the rest of you all need to keep your hands off of her or I'll send her packing. This is about forgetting all of that drama and remembering why we're here: gold and domination in Legends Championship Wrestling. That's it! Tony Atlas, Rocky Johnson, I want the two of you to shake hands right now!" The two men reluctantly shook hands and Slick said, "And now I want you two to go backstage and get focused and only think about how you're going to get your LCW World Tag Team Championships back." Atlas and Johnson left the ring together. Ware grabbed the microphone and said, "Reed, Parsons, all I care about is two guys keeping your hands off my girl!" Reed grabbed the microphone and said, "It was a mistake. It was the heat of the moment. It was a one time thing and as far as I'm concerned, it's over and done with. Bros before hos man, bros before hos." Dark Journey took offense as Ware and Reed shook hands. Parson grabbed the microphone from Reed and said, "Yeah, man. But let's be honest, Koko: nobody wants the ho because everybody's already had her." Dark Journey grabbed the microphone from Parsons and said, "You guys want to talk trash? You want to talk crap about me? You want to call me a ho. Let's look around the ring and ask who the ho is. As far as I'm concerned, all three of you are the ho. Last time I checked, you're married (pointing to Reed) and you're married (pointing to Parsons). So the next time you want to kiss me (pointing to Reed) or the next time you want to flirt (pointing to Parson) why don't you guys remember that! And as for you (pointing to Slick), you aren't going to send me packing anywhere. I'll go when I'm ready to go and I'm ready now." Dark Journey dropped the microphone and walked away. Ware followed after her leaving Reed, Parsons and Slick in the ring together. Slick said, "I want everyone in the back to know that The Brothahood is back together. We might have a couple of wrinkles to iron out, but we're still a unit and I'm going to get gold around every man in the Brothahood's waist. It might not be by the end of the year, but I did it before and I will do it again!" Slick left with Reed and Parsons.

In the back, Macho Man Randy Savage was shown making his way through the arena corridors with his bodyguard Sheamus O'Shaunessy and his brother The Genius Lanny Poffo. LCW Chairman of the Board Jim Crockett approached them and said O'Shaunessy and Poffo had to stay backstage. After trying to argue, but to no avail, Savage eventually relented and continued on without O'Shaunessy or Poffo.

LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Macho Man Randy Savage in 13:42 by pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner in a steel cage match. During the match, Austin tried to escape through the steel cage door, but The Genius Lanny Poffo came out and slammed the door on Austin's head. The match continued and later in the match, Austin tried to escape through the door again, but this time Sheamus O'Shaunessy came out and tried to slam the door on Austin, but Austin kicked the door in O'Shaunessy's face. Poffo got into the ring, but Austin hit him with the Stone Cold Stunner coming in the door and threw him out through the door and onto O'Shaunessy. Austin then hit Savage with the Stunner for the pinfall and the win and then threw him out of the cage door onto the floor near O'Shaunessy and Poffo. As O'Shaunessy and Poffo started to get to their feet and help Savage up the entrance ramp, Austin celebrated in the ring as the cage began to rise above the ring. Dr. Death Steve Williams came out with Cowboy Bill Watts and hit Austin with a spear out of a three-point stance. Williams then hit Austin with the Oklahoma Stampede before leaving the ring with Watts. From the broadcast booth, Larry Zbyszko said, "Well, I think Dr. Death has made it pretty clear what he wants." Tony Schiavone wished everyone a Happy New Year as the show went off the air as Austin tried to get to his feet.

You are doing an excellent job recently.

From the top of the card to the bottom, there is something exciting going on.

Anything with Austin has been gold(the feud with Savage has been excellent) and the Main Event push for Dr Death and his feud against Austin, is going to be someting special.

I love that Nick Bockwinkel has turned heel and is back wrestling. I am interested where you are going with him.

Tully Blanchard and Baby Doll have to be the best couple you have on the roster and it's really good to see them back together and Tully being pushed slightly higher up the card.

The tension with the Brothahood is a good storyline and I am just glad that you have found a use for one of my personal favourites in Koko B Ware(and I'm also glad that you are finding a good way to use Butch and Luke, I've always like them in any gimmick that they have portrayed).

That's what I really love about LCW and particularly recent LCW, its' that wrestlers like Koko and The Sheepherders are being used. I mean too many people see them and wrestlers like them as enhancement talent and if they did a similar fantasy fed, they would never push wrestlers commonly viewed like that at all but at LCW you are treating them with respect and I thank you for that.

I've rambled on for too long now but thanks for everything and keep the stellar work going.

Hey Christtian, it's ay boy "Capital K," man you are making 2008 to be the year for LCW. I love the storylines you have going on and bringing Nick Boclwinkel back as a wrestler was genius.

I'd like to see how the G.M. position is played out and to see who it goes to. If I had a choice, I'd pick Dusty Rhodes or Paul Heyman, but you know what you are doing.

Keep on doing what you do best and make 2008 an exciting year for the LCW fans. My one wish is that I wish I could be written into some of this as this has been a dream of mine, but I'd love it either way whether I was written in or not.

Keep up the good work Christian. This is the bomb.
